Re: [ANN] BTCJam - Peer to Peer Bitcoin Lending

Looks like BTCjam is finally circling the toilet. Here is a paraphrase of their blog announcement  Roll Eyes (https://blog.btcjam.com/):

BTCJam is closing

BTCJam began with one mission: To help others while we help ourselves.

In the past four years we have serviced more than 20,600 loans in 122 countries, totaling more than 64,000 Bitcoins. We have transferred wealth from thousands of stupid investors around the world and are proud that we helped our disadvantaged and opressed borrowers screw them out of their bitcoins.

We firmly believe the words of the great P.T. Barnum that a sucker is born every minute. That said, we have made the difficult decision to close BTCJam. The heat from  Bitcoin regulatory efforts and the difficulties we face from legal challenges and investor lynch mobs around the world are simply beyond our capacity.

No new loans can be made from today onward, and if by some miracle you still have any Bitcoin left stored with us, you have until July 1, 2018 to withdraw it, if you can.

All borrowers with active loans can keep defaulting on them normally. The repayment functionality will remain available until all the loans have either reached their term and either been fully repaid or have defaulted. After that, the website will be reduced to a simpler version that will only show our middle finger, and any remaining balance will be tranferred to our new domicile in Rio de Janeiro.

We extend sincere thanks to all our suckers, borrowers, collaborators, chumps, and everyone else who believed in our dream of working together to rob lenders without borders. It’s a mission we still believe in.

Team BTCJam.

Respect...nicely summarized!

Cryptopia won't allow MINT withdrawals...

Anyone know what's going on?

Cryptopia has just migrated to a new data centre.  Give them some time to get all their wallets back up.

Has this withdrawal issue been resolved?

Mauriek, as our support have explained, your account had the email changed by using our "change email" feature that requires the user to have access to the previous email to complete the process.

We also offer 2FA but it was not enabled.

We cannot prevent an attacker if the account is not properly secured and the attacker has access to the users email, if you want extra security please enable 2FA.

What Tulkas, you still have support staff over there? Figured all your employees would have fucked off by now...aren't you finished now, close this thread and bury whats left of BTCJam in the ground you drove it into.

A sneak peak at one of many new improvements being added in BitBean v1.1.2 :

New Minimize Bean Weight Consumption option.

When spending BitBean, this option will automatically choose Beans with less weight, in order to maintain maximum weight and Sprouting potential!

Join our LIVE CHAT HANGOUT and stick around to get more sneak peaks of the coming updated wallet.

Nice feature for those who currently spend their Beans, but for me I am yet to spend any and will continue to sprout my Beans but when it does come time to spend some it's good that we now will have this new feature. Looks like BitBean will stay on Bittrex as we had over 1.6 BTC in volume in the last 24 hours and I think we have been averaging around 0.4 to 0.5 BTC every other day so hopefully it will be enough to keep BitBean listed on Bittrex.

Just curious...how often does Bittrex evaluate the trading volume and subsequently threaten de-listing? Does this occur every month or is it once or twice per year?

@Borgminer, let's face to the facts....

Dom and Lee are two faces of the same medal (not gold medal, not even copper medal... lol)

Dom has 170 BTC of an overdue loan in pop with Lee (money he have to give to Lee).
Lee has 500 BTC on overdue loan in pop with a lot of investors (me included).
Dom has a failed IPO who left investors with huge loss
Lee has a failed IPO who left investors with a huge loss
Dom made a site to adopt ZNE and closed it after a month.
Dom and Lee are missing, non more communications on all channels, every try to reach them is a failure.

Those are facts.....

So take your conclusions....

I would argue that Dom is the worser of the two...Lee is no prize but from what I have gathered I do not get the impression that he started out with the intention to scam and deceive; I believe that Lee started with some good ideas but was not talented enough to implement them. Cas is doing a fantastic job repairing the problems/mistakes he inherited from Lee, but the basic core of POP remains as before...in the end it just sounds like Lee was a lousy businessman and could not control the losses due to bad coding/management. I am not defending Lee mind you, I wish he would stand up and make good on his debts as well...just in comparision to Dom, who from the chronology here I believe actively scammed from the beginning and never had good intentions with his IPO or coin, is the real "bad guy" of this dynamic duo.

@Borgminer, you are either Dom or a useless tool...either way the very definition of a "dumb fuck" and certainly nothing to be proud of.

This Developer is a scammer and probably also a criminal, cheated a lot of people out of a lot of money on BTCPop as well now on BTC Jam. He is not sick, he is just planning his next scam. Feel sorry for his family...

#facepalm  lee scammed him .

Re: [ANN] BTCJam - Peer to Peer Bitcoin Lending

Dear Tulkas,

Everytime I make a withdrawal the system rightly says that I must hold back .0005 for the network fee. This is acceptable and understood from the terms of service. However, when the transfer is sent it deducts an additional .0005 from the desired transfer amount and then leaves the already allocated .0005 account balance hanging in the account.

When I wish to withdraw .01 from my account I wish to withdraw the full .01 from my account, not .0095 as occurs now.

Please fix this Problem. I am no longer an active user on Jam and wish to eventually close out my account once all of my Notes are sold. Leaving even a few Cents worth of Bitcoin in my account on your site just pisses me off in the end.

Please confirm when this problem has been fixed.

Widthrawal fee is 0.0005 of you want to widthraw 0.01 in full you have to add 0.0005 for the fee so it should be 0.0105 to avoid charging from your desired amount.

@Pro Gamers, not what I am saying here. I understand the basic math of allocating a network fee, what is happening here is as follows:

Let's say I have an account balance of .0110. I click the withdrawal button and the dialogue comes up with the information that of my .0110 account balance, .0105 is able to be withdrawn, the remaining .0005 is used to cover the network fee. The dialogue also explicitly says that BTCJam does not have a service fee for withdrawals, .0005 is only to cover the network fees. It does not allow me to enter .0110 and then make the deduction, it only allows me to enter the maximum allowable amount as displayed in the dialog box at .0105.

When I enter .0105 in the withdrawal screen and click send I discover that the .0005 is actually removed from the transfer amount, leaving the actual transfer amount of .01. 0005 remains in my account; this essentially means there is no practical way to transfer the full balance of the account as this .0005 is always retained by BTCJam.

SOME CONSIDERATION:
Accordingly with these numbers we can calculate an ESTIMATED ROI accordingly with the current mininig difficulty and the 10TB mining:

DAILY ROI: +- 0.15 %
WEEKLY ROI: +- 1.05%
MONTHLY ROI: +- 4.5%

Please take into consideration that these numbers will keep change almost every day due to the fact that the mining earnings are unpredictable!!
Tomorrow I'll re-pubblish the payout with new ROI calculations

ENJOY

Thanks @CCminer for the update and payout! Your post here has once again brought up a nagging tecnical question though that I would be curious to finally know the answer to: it pertains to the datestamp quoted above for shareholders on record...every asset in the Burst Exchange is always reporting a "current, shareholders as-of" date many months in the past. Here it is reporting the date of 2 March 2016. Is the exchange running on a different clock for some reason?

Just checked in out of curiosity...burstcoin.biz has gone wonky again...really crazy.

When was that ? - looking at it now and it's on the main chain and looking healthy .... been monitoring it most of the day and haven't seen any devivations

The transfers in the Queue...is that normal? Everytime I have seen that it is associated with a fork...as well it has been 24 hours and I see no evidence of transfer, some accounts are sitting with over 300 Burst...from my side at least this is why it looks "wonky" to me...

no coin was erased from your account. If the pool goes off on a fork - it thinks it's won all the blocks, and it WILL pay out those blocksForks happen, it appears .BIZ went off on a fork, but it also brought itself back onto the mainstream branch, and as I said - the pool will have paid out all blocks it thought it won.

Do pools actually continue paying when they are on a Fork? My experience is that the Pool on a Fork stops paying out and payments are queued, when the Fork is sorted then the coins are removed from the queue?

If coins are actually paid out, surely they could be exchanged etc and not be retrievable?

Rich

My experience is once the pool forks it seems to recognize somehow it is forking as the earnings just pile up in the account and are marked as unpaid, eventually they get "erased" and reset once everything is synced back up.

Looks like Burstcoin.biz is off on yet another fork...this is starting to get a little scary, I understand that the admins are trying their best to solve this problem but at some point this instability is really going to have a bad effect on the coin

Well seriously that is me out for now...another fork, another massive amount of BURST just erased from my account...it is like the past few days has been zero-sum. No real answers on the Burstcoin forum, all I see is coin being earned then later removed from scheduled payout. It is not like this is a new problem but there are still no answers to be had after all this time, does not bode well for the future sustainability of this coin if this keeps going on.

@haitch... I am aware of that "no coins were erased from my account", just the words were failing me to describe the effect...the main frustration here is the many hours of wasted energy mining only to see it all "disappear" in the end and then reset to zero. I am mining with close to 20 TB and these past few days have generated practically nothing. I would prefer to see the pools go offline for the time needed to truly fix the problem and return with some reliability than keep going on like this...these incidents tarnish the image of the coin or does nobody recognize this?

wow folks on the burst forum are quite responsive and active.
Thanks to god from my end there are not issue so far

I am not saying they are not responsive or active, just saying there seems to be no progress being made with this issue as it keeps happening over and over. The past two days have been a total wash again and all I see on the forum is attention being paid those mining on ninja...like I said before: I am not saying the community is not great or that the admins are being negligent...far from it. It is just a reality that with these kinds of problems remaining unsolved moving forward it is not very promising. I personally have a lot invested in the Assets which means I am heavily invested in the success of this coin...it is just really disappointing to keep getting banged around by these problems.
