Hi Sampey

Since yesterday, my CAT doesn't load the markets on Bitfinex anymore.

I've already tried from a new installation:
- Start CAT
- Login -> seems to work
-> error message: Error loading exchange markets. Please Retry login.

- when I click on Login, its says: already logged in to Bitfinex.

How to solve?

Thanks

Hi,

There is a "Ping Type" combo (values:Static/Dynamic) in the "Ping Order Createor" panel.
What is the difference between dynamic and static?

Could you explain it with an example?

With "static", you define fixed buy and sell prices.

With "dynamic", you define the minimum gain you want to earn.
Take care to also set a buy limit that the buy price won't get pushed up.

Hi

I'm still struggling with CAT, because CAT is not reacting to the extreme volatility.
Example ETH:
traded in the 310 range days ago. Now a massive drop, so CAT made its last buy way too high.
So, I cannot get back into ping-pong, because all fiat is frozen on ETH at a high price.

How are you working working with that?
Any hints would be much appreciated.

Thanks.

You should have set some price limits imo. If you let the bot decide by itself for the "returning ping", it might even buy at ath. So price limits protect you from that happening... And if it buys below your price limit and you still can't sell, you just know that there has been some drop in the market. Just wait for it bro... It's all we do nowadays Wink btc, etc, ltc, dash, bcc... I'm fucked all around as well.

I had set a price limit, but that was not low enough it seems... :-|

I thought I could use CAT for (more or less) automated trading.
What I experience now it's less: constant monitoring in case the market goes down or up (thus missing the ride). Maybe I have to find another solution.

True.

Bot does what you tell him to do, it bought low and too bad that price dropped.
If you dont want that to happen you place stop loss order OR average down

That's exactly what I'm looking for: how do I need to configure CAT?
Would be great to have a method to setect such drops.

Or maybe a better question: what would be a good pair to trade with small but many ping-pongs?

Would the bot still make profit if you run it  24/7 with random pairs?
How many pairs do you trade at one time, 10, 20..?

Kraken price precision error

Hi

The Kraken API is throwing an error:

017-09-03 10:18:05| OCR : Try To Create new Order (From Pool) PING : BUY xxxx@305.44001 (Dynamic)
2017-09-03 10:18:06| ********************************************************************************************************************************************************************
                     * Error : OCR : Create Order (From Pool) Error From Kraken : ErrorCode : {"error":["EOrder:Invalid price:XETHZEUR price can only be specified up to 3 decimals."]} *
                     ********************************************************************************************************************************************************************
2017-09-03 10:18:06| OCR : PING : BUY xxxx@305.44001 (Dynamic) Order Creation Attempt Is Discarded

As far as I know, they are reducing the price precision on several trading pairs.
I do not find an option to change this in the program.

Thanks.

Hi guys

CAT sold my ETH @ 279 EUR this morning, so I missed the top (285 EUR).
Tried to hop an the train @ 281 EUR again but this went nowhere so far.

How do you handle such situations using CAT (if at all)?

I've already asked Sampey for a trailing stop feature, which they are thinking about.

Thanks.

BSP = Buy sell Pool

PPC = Ping Pong Calculator

(NO-BUY-PI)   NEW ORDER BUY PING

Then there's a Check on Ping OVer Limit [Never BUY OVER Your Last PONG SELL Price - 1.5%] VS Calculated Price 270.67002

Your LAST PONG SELL PRICE - 1.5% IS the Dynamic Comparing Value : 274.58451
Calculated Price 270.67002 is the price calculated by the Ping Pong Calculator

So NEVER BUY OVER is OK, because 270 is < 274

So LIMIT IS OK (otherwise you will get LIMIT APPLIED!)

If you have a ping buy, from what pong sell is it created?
From what I understood, each ping is related to its own pong.
I would be nice to have an ID in above log message, which shows against which pong sell price the ping buy price is matched.

If you have a ping buy (and a trade occurs over that ping) you will have a ping sell of price that will make you have (when a trade will occur over that pong) a gain of X% (where X is you GAIN Parameter)

Each pong is related to a trader over the ping.

The price you're talking about is the REFERENCE PRICE (The ping trade price)

My last sell price was 277.92316
So, the limit price (last sell - 2.5%) should be 270.975081.

my three last sell prices-> minus 2.5%
277.92316 -> 270.975081
277.8582  -> 270.911745
275.930   -> 269.032062

Where do I find the 270.975 from my last sell - 2.5%?
It does not match the calculated price and it does not match the comparing value.
Why is the calculated price changing?

Log message question

Hi

Quick question re log messages.

2017-08-23 18:16:40| BSP : BUY Pool Lookup
2017-08-23 18:16:40| PPC(NO-BUY-PI) : Check Limit Rule PING LIMIT (Adequate:false) - Never BUY OVER Your Last PONG SELL Price - 1.5% VS Calculated Price 270.67002 Dynamic Comparing Value Is : 274.58451 Limit Is Ok.

How do I interpret this message?
[Never BUY OVER Your Last PONG SELL Price - 1.5%] VS Calculated Price 270.67002
Dynamic Comparing Value Is : 274.58451
Limit Is Ok <= what does that mean?

Is it current price is 274.58451 and buy price is 270.6002?

2017-08-23 18:49:54| BSP : BUY Pool Lookup
2017-08-23 18:49:54| PPC(NO-BUY-PI) : % Check Failed Reference Price : 272.00000 VS 272.00001 % Spread is -0.001 Must Be >= 0.000
2017-08-23 18:49:54| BSP : BUY Pool Must Wait, No Condition For New Ping Order Creation.

What does that mean?

1)
If you have a ping buy, from what pong sell is it created?
From what I understood, each ping is related to its own pong.
I would be nice to have an ID in above log message, which shows against which pong sell price the ping buy price is matched.
