Ppl over there in main thread calculated that the profit from selling 60ph of chips, retaining 1/3 for gen4, is about 0.0676 btc/share. If paid weekly from 30th March (12x), that would be 0.0056/share per week. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=99497.msg7157011#msg7157011
If using the 33% yield we were used to base the share price on havelock, that would put shares at 0.87.
I think 33% yield is a little steep. If AM starts cranking out manufacturing and mining dividends as expected, sooner or later some confidence in the company should return, perhaps lowering the yield to the 20-25% range, with a corresponding increase in price. To repeat something I heard last year, AM could be one of the only blue chip stocks.

Re: ASICMINER: Entering the Future of ASIC Mining by Inventing It
Self-mining, franchised mining etc. makes only sense when we can't sell chips anymore. The turnaround time for selling chips is much faster. Every KH/s used for mining instead of selling chips (as long as it's profitable) is a KH/s wasted. I do agree though, that mining is good thing, as it festers independence and a continuing stream of income. But effectively it means less income/dividends.
I agree that selling chips is a way to get the maximum profit up front versus mining that will spread the income out over time. However, in this climate of an escalating USD/BTC exchange rate, mining with the chips eliminates the exchange risk.
If USD/BTC rises to $5000, our bitcoin profit from chip sales will become miniscule, whereas a mining farm will still be happily cranking out the coins.
A balance should be struck between sales and self-mining.

Re: ASICMINER: Entering the Future of ASIC Mining by Inventing It
I have a question : the third-generation chip's payment considering USD and Bitcoins. What if Friedcat would receive huge of USDs, then How Friedcat pay shareholders Bitcoins ? To buy huge Bitcoins in the market will certainly be hard .
As a mining related company, buying Bitcoins from the market in order to pay out the dividends doesn't sound very plausible. However, I think in the case of receiving predominantly US dollars, the less hassle way for AM to do is to just keep the dollars for future use. As for long time investors, this might not be much of a problem (subjective opinion). Also, please note that, using Bitcoin as payment method has the advantage of being instant (relative to international wire transfers), and this advantage can be critical since chip buyers would normally expect their new ASICs to be shipped fast. Together with franchising, which generates Bitcoin revenue, we should be good.
I really don't see ASICMiner accepting dollars in payment. Cash, check, credit card? LOL.
From what I've been reading, AM would name a price for gen 3 chips in USD but accept payment in the equivalent amount of BTC. So, as the BTCUSD rate goes up, the hardware becomes cheaper in BTC.
In order to maximize BTC dividends, hope for the current low exchange rate (Bitstamp is at $630) to continue...
144 blocks per day 52560 blocks per year 1314000 BTC per year
The blocks have been mined at a substantially faster rate than the ideal of 6 blocks per hour. I think the average is more like 7.5 blocks per hour, which pencils out to 65,700 blocks per year and 1,642,500 btc per year.
Using the 2.5% to 25% range, I get 0.10 to 1.02 bitcoins per share in potential mining revenue.

Is there any benefit to using a USB 3.0 hub or is a USB 2.0 hub sufficient?
I understand that 500 mA must be provided to each miner. Does anyone have a suggestion for the best powered hub to use for multiple USB Erupter mining?

I'm very close to making a purchase, but I need something tangible to prove this is legit. Phone number of a live person? Photos of warehouse? Can some people post up some experience they've had with this vendor? Escrow sounds like a good idea...
