I just saw this coin and cannot possibly read all these pages. What is the deal here exactly. I am reading on their site about media, videos and such and I saw on the first page that there was mining as a proof of work coin. Where do the two come together, are people paying to access the media, are people paying to post or upload the media. Can anyone give me the thirty second version?
sort of. where SJCX (storjcoin) focuses on the actual storage and management of files and parts of files, LBRY focuses on where to find files through a protocol. It's certainly saying something if Polo approves with so little history. Watching this thread.
Absolutely. There are coins that have been around for years that Polo still won't accept onto their exchange. LBRY made it easy to trust them.

Closed beta can use the app already and it's cool. It loads fast and it's working. Apparently some bugs still have to be fixed, and no open beta until then...which is a good decision!

Good to hear, the project is looking sharp for sure. I'm interested to see how this works out since they are taking a stance on the legal aspect of this thing that I wouldn't have predicted.

Where can I find instructions on how to upgrade an old vcash wallet (from like fall/winter) to the new one?
first backup the old wallet.dat!extract/install v0.6.0.3 (rename/overwrite the old Vcash.exe or recompile)
there are two ways to upgrade and/or import the old wallet
1. edit the config.dat
change "deterministic": "1" to "deterministic": "0"
keep/copy the old wallet.dat
2. import private key of your old wallet
make sure you have the private key of your old wallet
rename wallet.dat and start vcash to create a new wallet.dat
use console/rpc command importprivkey

From what I've gathered there are serious and big improvements going on that would make xvc better than any other coin in terms of anonymity, speed, scalability, and security. However the updates have slowed down and the developer maintains that slow and steady progress is best for the coin at this stage. The official website continues to attract more traffic and is being redesigned for the next big feature (zeroledger) release.
