Build out of mining room

Currently mining with a 9 GPU rig (1.3ZEC/mo @ 900W) in an unfinished room attached to my detached garage. I live in Central Texas, and temps hit 100F regularly in the summer. My electricity comes from wind at about $0.14 per marginal kWh in the tier that my mining bumps me into.

Planning a build out and considering options. The room is about 13' x 7', has a door at one end and two small windows. The room is near the main service panel, which has 200A service to the house. It's a small house so plenty of extra power without needing to upgrade main service.

I work with computers for a living so having a home lab would be nice for other reasons aside from mining, but I wouldn't spend the time or money without mining as the main reason (and as the tax writeoff).

Looking for suggestions about building out the room. It's a detached garage, so there is no AC in the building. I could do a window unit or something more fancy if warranted. I could frame in the walls to insulate. I have the funds to do whatever makes sense financially...more DIY miners, antminer, etc.

There appears to be a bad side effect to not being able to deposit USD into Bittrex. Since every coin-to-coin purchase is IRS reportable for capital gains, this means that if you move BTC (or other coin) into Bittrex, then use it to buy another coin, you will have to track the USD equivalent of the BTC that you use to buy it, and use FIFO, LIFO, etc. to track and report the capital gains on the BTC as you dispose of it to obtain the other coin.

I want to use Bittrex, but at this time, I'm only buying coin in USD and hodl'ing. So far, I've bought a bunch but haven't had any reportable transactions since I'm only buying and not selling.

I have done the research to know that many crypto traders are using like/kind transactions, but this is highly speculative and subject to back taxes, interest, and penalties if the IRS eventually decides that not every crypto currency is similar enough to allow for like/kind transactions.

Thoughts?

Just curious what you think about orders from retail places that say 15 day back order. I ordered 8 x RX580's from a place that shows a backorder list of hundreds with details about when they expect each batch in. I went ahead and ordered the rest of the gear, but perhaps should have waited until the back order was closer, since I might blow past my 30 day return policy before the cards get in.

Like everyone, I'm eager to start mining, and wondering if people ordering from places that are ordering themselves on demand are actually getting their cards.
