Re: NVIDIA is cutting the 3060's Hash Rate in Half & NEW Mining specific GPU's

Driver: https://mega.nz/file/4NRSiL6A#0jcBLJwhVfNhFrc9RgZeIa3xS5XGOl23ie6Ue439LBQ

Info from someone on discord:

Summary so far on 3060:
-Use the 470.05 Dev Nvidia driver
-Need to stick the 3060 into motherboard directly (Does not work with riser)
-Must have at least pcie 3.0 enabled in bios, or set to auto
-HDMI/Display port of the graphics card needs to be either connected to a monitor or dummy plug
-2nd 3060 on the same mb will work as long as it is plugged into the x16 slot running x8 lanes or above with HDMI/Display port filled (not confirmed with 3 cards)
-Some have confirmed working cards after fresh windows install, then installing the 470.05 dev driver
-Works on ASUS STRIX/TUF/DUAL 3060, Palit 3060, EVGA black 3060, EVGA 3060 XC GAMING(12G-P5-3657-KR), Galax 3060, Gigabyte 3060 Vision OC, MSI Ventus 2x, MSI Gaming X, Zotac 3060 twin edge
-Does not work on Inno3D that we know of

EDIT2: It seems to have been tested on pci-X 4x slots and did not work. Only 8x and 16x work, with a dummy cable and no risers.

EDIT3: Current record for maximum number of 3060 on 1 mobo is 2 cards, running on x16 and x8 full slots.

EDIT4: 8x / 8x also seems to work.

Running 1 card at 42 mh/s into the mbo with that driver for 24 hours without problems!

Think the best setup is need to get motherboard which supports multiple gpu 6+
That way you wont waste your money, just building a CPU rig.
I would go for Biostar TB350 and Ryzen9 3900x
Add some Nvidia 1660 ti or AMD RX570. Do CPU and GPU mining at the same time. Use CPU to mine Monero and with GPUs for example mine Ethereum.

That’s one of the things I am looking into, since I have 15 RX 580 8 GB.
The Ryzen9 3900x is a bit expensive where I live, but the TR 1920x or Ryzen5 3600 is cheap.

So thinking 3xRyzen5 3600 and B450 Tomahawk with 5 GPUs on each.

Hi Tytanick

Is there any way to see the config file for XMR-STAK and XMRRIG in the webpage?
Or do i need to SSH to the rig?

Would be nice to change it in the webpage or local FTP to the config folder maybe?

Thanks for the input guys! First time building a AMD CPU computer. Only built Intel before..

As for motherboard i would go with the msi B450 Tomahawk or the msi B450-a pro but all msi b450 boards have the bios button.
Easy to flash the motherboards without cpus.

The B450 was cheap as well, so i think i will go with that one. Thanks.

Hi

When RandomX is active on monero, what would be the best 450$ setup? (MB/CPU/RAM etc.)

what cards are you running? and hows the temp?

This one is a mix of GIGABYTE Aorus RX580 8GB, and a few MSI GAMING X RX580 8GB.

Temperatures are good, I target 68C (no A/C), seems to do just fine.  The spacing between GPU's is much wider than other rigs that have been running for 18months+.

I've been weeding out the 4GB cards over time, rebuilding rigs and cleaning up/servicing GPU fans along the way Smiley

What are your fans running at?
Do you got pictures of your setup?

Well, each rig has 12 GPUs and I don’t want to scale down on GPUs per rig.

So, anyone have a good recommendation for 12 GPU frame?

Found this on Amazon, any inputs on it?

I just built a rig with one of those.  The gpu's don't have good/solid bottom support, as they "rest" on the rail.

I'm going to add velcro under the riser cards along the rail so they can't float/move.

Also - a regular box fan would probably work just as well vs having all of those fans connected.

I would recommend the Veddha V3C 6-GPU for a similar setup 3 of them will be like $90 on Amazon...

Or 2 Veddha V3C 8-GPU only $34.99 each.

Also Veddha frames are well known quality rig frames.

Haven't used it but did use similar ones like it. It will depend on the type of GPU you have (does they run hot? reference/blower model? single fan? etc..) but generally when you have GPUs so close to each other, you install aux fans. So thats why there are holes on each row, for the fans.

But then additional fans mean more power consumed and less profit. Also, DIY rig racks/cases are always cheaper. You don't need fancy rig cases like this to mine.

I have 24 RX 580 running at 40-55 °C. Each card is almost 10 centimeters apart. Fan speed is at 40%
RIG1: 12 x Sapphire Radeon RX 580 Nitro+
RIG2: 12 x Asus Radeon RX 580 ROG Strix Gaming OC

How much do you think the temp will rise?

I have seen a lot of DIY rigs, but when i calculate the material and shipping, then they are always more expensive then these frames.

Mining rig frame for 3 rigs

Hi

I have 2 mining rigs with 12 cards in, and I’m now going to start building number 3.
When I was looking for a new frame, I came over this one:
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32864195264.html?storeId=3684115&spm=2114.12010612.8148356.59.538b6456ZHCnSS

What your thoughts are on the frame?
And I am wondering if anyone has used it?

The rigs I have now have good space between the cards, and this one looks like they just have a few centimeters each.  Will this be a problem for the temp on the cards?
