Re: Will PI reach $10 before 2026?
by

If it's going to happen this year, I don't think so. There are a lot of issues going on with that coin, and it may be the ATH now, but I don't think it will rise that much because you need to invest a lot in Pi to have that price rise. Many people might sell, and raising the price would be a hard time.

Some private investors trying to manipulate this scam token by injecting liquidity on some exchanges hoping that it will create hype just like Trump coins since this token has a lot of popularity due to the project age.

I will not be surprised if this token still skyrocket short term when this token managed to be listed on Binance and other trusted exchange.
Pi is a funny project and I don't now why the team thinks that they can still attract huge investors to buy the token when it had already lost it opportunity when it was trending. Pi is never a good project for me because I know that huge hype that might have attracted when the projects was still trending. Many miners had already lost hope and some had sold their Pi coins because they thought the project would was a joke and could never get to the stage of launching. People that could have created more hype for their funny project had already left the community. I thought I saw the price trading and 1.5 USDT on Bybit few days ago?

This is not a suitable project for anyone to invest their money because we could suddenly see that the price depreciated to nothing as time goes on. Everyone can always dump their tokens on exchanges if they made profits from it.

Yes but that is like with any other token. Same happened with ripple. People invested insane amount of money into it and the price dropped but the token is still here.
I don't have high hopes for it, minded it just for fun so I have only 4000 or so. So even if the price drops it won't be a big deal as it is not life charging money.
But if the price goes up then, potentially I can earn a lot with basically zero investment.

Re: I have some old BTC wallet from 2013

Sorry for not responding sooner. I had some personal problems.

We managed to find the wallet password, we found one flash drive hidden in his apartment taped under the bathtub ( that part used to clean under the sink ).

It indeed had some BTC, close to 2BTC that the parents decided to cash in, they donated some money ( didn't asked how much ) and some went to family. They also wanted to give me few thousand but I declined.

On that drive however was one more wallet but this one is from late 2015. I tried same password, keys and everything but they don't work. This one is also bigger, 150kb so it could be that that one also has something inside.

So unless we find a new flash drive, HDD, SSD or some unknown email that has password and key i doubt we will open that one.

Anyway thanks for all the help and suggestions

Ok like the title says I have some old wallet that belonged to my late friend.

He died in 2021 from Corona and his parents asked me to check his computers and mails and such.
It took them some time since they were still grieving or not ready to face the truth.
Now there were no apps related to crypto, no search history for any know exchange or anything about crypto mining, no mails for anything that i could though of ( at least in the email I had access to )....
The only thing I found was old btc wallet from 2013.

I tried looking for address/pools inside it but failed - i didn't load it into any wallet like Electrum so i have no idea if there are any coins there.
I explained to his parents what it is and told them it could have insane value or basically be worthless - there was no password file or any private keys in that folder where wallet was or anywhere on his drives ( SSDs, HDDs, Flash drives ).
So now I am not sure what to do, should I just keep it or try to open and see ( i really doubt there is anything there ).
If there are coins inside i won't be able to use/transfer them without pass and bruteforce wont probably work.
So does anyone have any suggestion?

First of all did your friend tell you he owns some amount of Bitcoin Before he died? or in any way tell his parents and siblings about his Bitcoin holdings, This way you will be able know where to begin with because these are things you have to be certain about so you don't end up wasting a whole lot of time seeking nothing. When this is ascertained, now this gives you the courage to do whatever you can and it will take to try to recover or get access to the wallet. His parents should also help you in checking some of his files, if by chance he wrote down his key phrases somewhere on a paper and this will make the whole process even easier for you.

No sadly ne never talked about it or mentioned anything in regard to crypto. That is what it makes it strange. His parents are in late 70s and not really technically "educated" so until I told them what it was they never actually heard about Bitcoin.
Unfortunately he was the only child, never  married, no kids, and last girlfriend he had was late 10.years ago.
At the moment it is just a project if I get access great if not well I won't lose my sleep over it.
I just wanted to know if anyone had any idea what do to because it kinda hit me hard even though friend was never really a talkative person and kept to himself so that could be the reason if he did had some coins he never mentioned it.

What wallet file format do you have from parent's of your friend?

[overview] Recover Bitcoin from any old storage format

If you can tell us about the wallet format, forum members can help you. Don't send wallet file to any forum member who sends you PM and ask you to do this.

There is a wallet recovery service too.

Bitcoin Wallet Recovery Services - for forgotten wallet password

Make some copies of wallet file before you try recover it by yourself or use any wallet recovery service.

It is wallet.dat for early 2013..not really big file, some 70-80kb of I remember correctly. Will have to check when I get back home.

I don't plan the send it, unless it proves to be empty, perhaps someone could use old wallet.

Thanks for that. I will check that link as well.

The matter is quite clear, you got access to the computer, and now you just need to get permission to load that file and see what's in it - of course, do it in the presence of his parents.

If there are coins inside i won't be able to use/transfer them without pass and bruteforce wont probably work.

Maybe you found an empty wallet, and maybe the wallet doesn't have any protection - even if it does, maybe you'll find the password somewhere in his personal belongings or on the computer. In any case, whatever you do, be careful not to download a fake wallet - and if you want to try Electrum, I advise you to read -> [GUIDE] How to Safely Download and Verify Electrum [Guide]

I'm really not sure. I will ask parents during weekend to check again, perhaps there are some hidden files for which I didn't looked for.
Thanks for the link.

His parents asked me, they were basically looking if there any of his photos because he didn't like to take phots so they don't have many.

They didn't even turn on his computer until then. I was the 1st one to turn it on in almost 3 years.

There was no will or anything so everything he had went to his parents.

I don't know if he would mind but i am sure that he would like his parents to get it if there are some coins inside.

So not here asking for any personal gain or anything, just if someone has idea what to do or should i just tell them i tried and forget about it

I would say no. XRP is a token. not a coin.

It has been constantly dropping, well now it is a bit higher, since the last peak in 2021.

In other words I would stay away from any token unless you get it for free or really negligible price!

Hey thanks for response.

I know that I can use some exchange to sell/trade. The only reason why I posted here is because I wanted to do it directly, well direct trade.

Not in a hurry to do it, so I can wait few days. If no one needs it I will sell/trade using the exchange.
Alright, I do get it.

Good luck if you ever find that person willing to have a deal with you. Do not forget to make your transaction safe and by having an escrow, that's going to help both of you to do it safely.

Here's a list of the Recommended bitcointalk escrow services.

Thanks, sold one part to a guy I used to trade before, so still have some amount I will sell. I just hope ETH/BTC won't go over 2,000/30,000 in next week or so 😊😊😊

Hehe it is so funny like nvidia is kinder garden. If i could talk to nvidias people to face ehhh ehh. What happened? Where is gamers that wanted cards? These gpu manufaturerers will never find good customer like a miner  Grin

To be honest I think 80% of the cards are bought by gamers/designers, also there is much bigger chance that miner will burn gpu than gamer.
My kid is playing on 1080ti ( I have no intention of getting him better until he gets better in school) for 5+ years, card was cleaned few times in that time, thermal paste never changed... No issues with the card, I think chances for the same card to survive 5+ years of 24/7 mining, barely any cleaning... are slim
If 80% of the cards are bought by gamers/designers, then there would be no such price reduction in the market. The demand for video cards grows only when the payback of a video card in mining is 6-12 months.
I have a lot of GTX 1060,1070,1080 and RX 470-480 video cards that have been mining for more than 5 years. The fans are broken. Chinese fans from aliexpress are of very poor quality and work for 3-4 months, so I use standard 80x80.

Very small amount of population actually mines, granted a single miner can have 1000s of cards but there are 100s of millions of games/designers around the world world. That ROI wasn't possible in quite a long time, especially 6 months.
Two? years ago I was able to sell 1080ti for more money that I bought it for and it was 3 years old, out of warranty and so on.
Yeah but you probably take care of the cards, they are not in closed in case, you clean then,l and so on, I know "gamers" that have never cleaned a card, they have a carpet of dust and other shit but the card still works because they don't "abuse" it that much. Also many gpus are flashed to use less power and give more mhs while many gamers overclock their cards.
Also cards you mentioned are beasts, I had more 2xxx died in a year that 1xxx in 4-5

Meta has burned $15 billion trying to build the metaverse — and nobody's saying exactly where the money went

Quote
Meta has spent more than $15 billion on its Reality Labs metaverse venture since the beginning of last year, but so far, the company hasn't shared on what, precisely, money is being spent.

Some experts are getting worried the company is spending good money after bad.

"The problem is that they spend the money, but the transparency with investors has been a disaster," Dan Ives, a tech analyst at Wedbush Securities, said.

"This continues to be a risky bet by Zuckerberg and the team because, for now, they're betting money on the future while they continue to have massive headwinds on their core business," he added.

I always thought that Metaverse is a stupid idea, it can only succeed when VR is massively popular, which it is not right now. Zuck is trying to put a cart before the horse.

It might be stupid idea but if you corner the market first then you have much better starting position. I like you anology but imagine that you have a cart that is so much ahead that getting horse later won't matter.
15 billion is a gamble but a gamble that might pay off 100x over.

I would invest in Ravencoin, I bought a lot in 2018 for average price of 0.018$ and since then it has dropped only once under that price. Mined a lot ( quite a lot ) and now sitting at close to 3mill, my new plan is not to be greedy like last time and sell most when it goes to 0.2-0.3$

Re: Ravencoin - is there a future in this?
by

on 14/08/2022, 23:40:21 UTC
Well I have my hopes up, I'm still mining it with 20% of my mining rigs + i have bought some 500,000 when it was 1.8cents few years ago and then decided to switch some of the rigs to mine it.
So far I have mined about 2million ( and haven't sold any so far ), at this moment mining about 3000/day and I'm happy how things are going so far but I have to admit that I'm sad I haven't sold any when it was selling for 25cent+

So my question is how many of you are mining it/hoarding it and for what price are you willing to part with all or certain percentage you have?

You shouldn't stick with ravencoin only, you already have millions so stop and look into other good coin like Flux, ravencoin is good for peer-to-peer payment and its pow but flux is more than that, I believe flux will be bigger in future, try to diversify.

Oh im not, I have many other coins, some were a bust some are in a good position. Glad Raven is still there, when the next big jump comes ill sell probably all. Atm planning to buy some more but still not decided Wink

I don't understand why you didn't sell these coins for 20 cents. You can wait a long time for a good price or your coins will depreciate. I am selling coins in a bull market and I don't plan to sell anything right now because I have enough financial reserve.

Because at that point in my head it wouldn't change much, I mean I would have made 10x "invested" well more sinceI only bought 500k rest was mined ( and rigs were payed out years before ) but TBH i was perhaps kinda greedy, I wanted a bit more, my idea was to sell at 40cent, not sure why I had that number in my mind. When the next jump comes I just hope I wont make same mistake Smiley

We are all waiting for the next bull run but unfortunately it seems like we are from all late 2021 and up until now in a full crypto winter. As long as you have the coins there is not much you can do except being patient. They say "Patience is the virtue of the winner" and I think you should keep this phrase to you like a religion. You should be patient no matter what, even if the price of RVN goes to like 0.0025 dollars you should not make a not so well thought move.

Sadly all i can do now is wait, I have time and im not going to lose sleep over it but if it comes then there will be a new thing to "worry" about, how to get that money into legal waters Smiley
