Not really. The owner put that in there to prove it was him at #bitcoin-otc. His handle is jjjrmy. Nice kid. I've done business with him and he's ok.

Not only that, it hurts Bitcoin's rep by making it look like an underground currency (like Silk Road does).

Not only that, but the client takes forever to load. This morning I compiled the bitcoin-qt for Mac and it works much smoother.

The use I see for online wallets is to put some coins in them when trading person to person IRL. I see it as putting cash in your pocket.

For GPU mining on a Mac use DiabloMiner. Also, as it stands right now mining difficulty is too high to go at it solo on a single PC (you'll spend a lifetime and not generate a single bitcoin). Look into the mining pools.
