Re: [2014-07-31] Robocoin Opens The First Bitcoin ATM In Vegas, Baby

Yet another kick-ass destination that big bitcoin bag holders can frequent and now easily convert their coins to fiat for the tables!  How cool is that?  I imagine there will be a bit of a dominoe effect with other casino's introducing atm's as well.  Especially if a few "bitcoin whales" happen to stop by and spend some big money Wink

Might this be a way for Chinese whales to blast off huge money in Vegas? I hope so.

Vancouver ATM has been the outlier in volume. Massive success combo being first, media hype, huge chinese community, etc.

Robocoins in USA (austin, mountain view, seattle) have done a fraction of the volume seen in Vancouver.

I love the idea of more bitcoin ATMs. I think lower costs and a friendly legal environment are needed to make them a flourishing business opportunity.

Didn't know they have a Chinese community in Vancouver. Why are the Chinese paying premium to buy bitcoin?

Capital controls back in mainland China make it difficult to get money out. Well know that many wealthy chinese buy 2nd houses (often sending wife and children) in Vancouver so that if shit hits the fan (gov decides to confiscate their assets) they flee. If you look at run up last november much of the volume was coming from China after state TV ran a special on bitcoin.

I placed a bet once a month maybe. I'm a casual bettor who doesn't check the site or this forum regularly. There is no reasonable way I could have withdrawn my money from this site given that.

Re: Phoenix miner stops working

Hi all,

my two mining rigs were running flawless for two weeks but lately it occurs more and more frequent that two workers for always the same GPUs just stop hashing. The console kind of freezes with the last Mh/s rate it was working with, but the cursor at the end of the line is still flashing.
This is how it looks like:
http://img14.imageshack.us/img14/923/phoenixnu.th.jpg

What makes me wonder is why the GPU usage of the other cards goes down as well when the third card fails. Afterburner updating interval is set to 10 seconds and I can see this usage drop on the other cards in the graph every time, so it must take at least some seconds.

I'm using win7/x86, ATI 11.6 + APP 2.4, phoenix miner with phatk kernel, settings: -k phatk DEVICE=2 VECTORS BFI_INT WORKSIZE=256 AGGRESSION=12 FASTLOOP
I also altered the phatk kernel with the formula given in this forum to improve the hash rate. I had some issues with this on our first machine, one miner chrashed the same way every two minutes with this change, but it also happened once just before I made the change so the issue is not cause by this but it makes it more likely to occur.

Anyone knows what is causing this behaviour?

BUMP I am having this same problem!
