Still have to wait for the fuses to come in before i can start hashing Wink

I probably can't use that auto fuse right? lol

As long as it is 10A, it will be fine, maybe sidehack can vouch / verify

Now your just bashing the ones who are helping and trying to understand what the hell you wrote as far as a "test"

BTW, your "test" makes no sense from an I.T.'s point of view, and is a waste of time.

Telling me to move on, the time I spent typing that to try and help you I should charge you my hourly rate but I'm afraid you couldn't afford it.

Also, saying it wasn't detected till the 11th, so your anti virus wouldn't catch it. I update my offline scanner's daily, it's not hard to click update.

I'm done, go troll somewhere else, maybe the newbie section, they seem gullible enough.

I use Avira as a complete offline scanner. Avira rescue cd is on a small linux distro making it completely offline.

Avast has the boot scan, and I haven't heard any complaints.

I have at least 4 different offline scanners on my multiboot drive.

The problem with a virus is that when you do a scan in windows it can not detect it sometimes if it already manifested into the system files.

You need to do the offline scan, it removes all the variables of the virus fooling the anti virus software.

By saying your not smart enough to understand what I wrote, I am inclined to believe you are trolling instead.

There are people in this form that will help, a lot in the I.T. industry, but once you are identified as a troll all bets are off.

Got the fans on ebay http://www.ebay.com/itm/270964546597?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649

I was originally going to use the terminals by the power supply but had a change of heart when putting it together. The fans all together are right at 1 amp, I will probably move it to the terminals later once I get some more heat shrink tubing.

The spacing works out perfectly keeping them cool, if I don't get more blades next month I'll space them out some.

It is sad I only have 4 blades right now, you can send me a few, lol

I noticed the blade being tilted a little after I took the picture, it has been fixed.

I have to say, I love this case, all 6 fans running is nice and quiet, no more box fan keeping them cool.

I remember I had an older (2006) hp laptop that had nvidia on it. I installed Fedora Core on it, and luckily nvidia had linux drivers, you had to compile them, but they provided them.

Took me a while to get it to work correctly but I did. I have a computer right now that I would love to put linux on, but it has a nvidia card in it, screw that, 7 it is.

Thats what sucks. Its takes a long time to get used to but once you do linux becomes the best OS out there. Love the fact that ssh is built into terminal (unlike windows).

Oh I love linux, have ever since I was introduced in the 90's. Unfortunately my job requires windows for domain functions, even though I am I.T. I could get away with running linux on my laptop, I enjoy my job to much to get caught in a suprise audit

sorry, i am trying to mine bitcoin in a pool
i am also on my laptop. maybe its not efficient enough??

You are not going to do anything on a laptop cpu mining, your just shorting the lifespan of your cpu running all it's threads maxed out.

Unless you have a MBP with nvidia or a alien ware, it isn't worth cpu mining.

I have been running bfgminer  for a week now with no payout

What are you trying to mine, solo, pool, scrypt, sha-256, gpu, cpu, asic?

This doesn't give any information expect you are running mining software.

People are here to help you figure out solutions to problems, you just have to give the problem, and details of it.

Continued...

After virus scan is complete and viruses are removed it is now time to backup your files.

I recommend parted magic, but you can use whatever flavor of linux you want for this.

Go here and download parted magic http://www.majorgeeks.com/files/details/parted_magic.html

Once that is downloaded, you can either use the same flash drive or another if you have one. If your flash drive is big enough >4GB I recommend this.

http://www.pendrivelinux.com/yumi-multiboot-usb-creator/

I have a 32GB Flash drive with several linux distros, sever distros, parted magic, anti virus, Hiren's boot cd for mini xp

Either route, if using unetboot follow the previous steps and just select parted magic iso.

Once booted into parted magic, plug in an external drive and copy your documents from your main drive to the external.

Doing this outside windows prevents trojans from hopping a ride.

Once you have everything backed up, format c: and reinstall windows. I recommend upgrading to 7 if possible due to EOL for xp is April 14, 2014.

And last but not least, anti virus, get it, keep it up to date.

So what did you do to piss this guy off, as the ip you provided came from mother Russia.

Have you thought to mabey do some of the following?

1. Identify the problem & fix the problem.
2. Take steps to not allow said problem to happen again.

If you are wondering what I am talking about.

Computer A. is infected with an unknown virus, it is running Windows XP SP3 (I hope SP3), with obviously no anti virus software and no firewall protection.

Diagnose.

Shutdown computer A. immediately.  Go to http://www.avira.com/en/download/product/avira-rescue-system and download the rescue cd from a known clean computer.

Goto http://unetbootin.sourceforge.net/ and download the windows binary.

Place a flash drive at least 1 GB in size in known clean computer and format it as a fat32, quick format will do.

Run unetbootin and click diskimage, and the button with the "..." on it. Locate the avira rescue cd iso and open it.

Make sure the drive is set to the flash drive and click ok.

Once complete, eject flash drive.

Put said flash drive in infect computer and boot from it, scan computer and remove viruses.

To be continued.

I am a sysadmin by the way, I do this shit for a living.

A live cd of xbuntu is 600 MB, that is the full os being able to run, yes packages are in a compressed environment, but you can't stick a full install of XP on a cd and expect it to run.

In fact I have XP instalation CD and it works fine even without running updates.

That is an installation cd, can you put that disk in your computer and play on xp before you install it?

My statement stands, please read it again if you didn't understand it fully, but I will help out. You cannot have a live cd of xp under 2GB, I am not talking about XP PE either, that isn't the full os.

I tried ubuntu before, and it was too complicated to get anything other than steam and the other normal apps to run on it for me. I like windows because its a middle of the road OS, half user friendly, half technical if you want to edit things.

I felt exactly like you, but after a week I got everything running!

But what about the games ?  Gamers still need Windows Tongue

I stopped playing video games (I have a xbox but dont use it). If you have a extremely powerful computer then you can use WINE to open windows app.

Good luck running iTunes

What exactly is the purpose of that program compared to the alternatives? I really do not understand why I would want to have it.

Which program? WINE?

iTunes, of course. Wine has no real alternatives.

Well iTunes is a stupid program that you are FORCED to use by apple if you have an iPhone. Any app beats iTunes. I prefer spotify because for $10 you can listen to any song online or offline!

It sure sucks if you are a developer. That is why I prefer web apps, even if the tech is not there yet.

Tell me about it.

When I develop for android I can just email the apk to people for testing.

iOS devices, shit, I have to load certificates on each device and manually load the file either from xcode or have them on my wifi. Apple is aggravating when it comes to developers.

Let's not forget, android one time fee to become a developer. Apple, yearly 99 fee for ios.

And then they overprice their products.

That they do, but people eat them up.

Tried to use, but can't really get use to it. Any suggestions? Smiley

What are your most used apps? I struggled with it for a week and then finally got settled in. There is a stack overflow section for ubuntu so if you have any questions you can ask there.

Adobe softwares, LoL others I can get alternatives, the most important one is drivers...nvidia nvs won't work. Took me days before I figure out how and I forgot :p

If it is photoshop, gimp is a good alternative, and for nvida
