3)  The candles actually seem to distract me from the points.  I wonder if it would make sense for me, anyway, to use a line chart.

Edit...the only thing I can think of as a starting point is to try to find the 3's.

The problem with a line chart is that it's usually based on an average. OHLC avg, HLC, VWAP, etc... So it's doesn't tell the whole story and it won't show overlaps that invalidate a count either. Candlesticks and OHLC bars are best suited for this job.

Furthermore, the shape of a candlestick also brings relevant market information.  Cheesy

We arrive again at US $ 1.200 or more in the future?

Since this question seems directed at me, I'll try to answer: if the bottom won't be below 250$, then IMO a return to the ATH and more
in the second half of 2015 is almost certain. But for me the most important is that bitcoin stays healthy until the second half of 2016,
when the block reward halving combined with a general uptrend should create a nice mania phase.

I'll agree there with the exception that going below 250 doesn't matter. It will be bearish, yes, but the bullish long term will still be valid. My reply would be as long as Bitcoin doesn't die due to abandonment or protocol failure, it is all but guaranteed to make new all time highs eventually.

Thanks for the replies, Tzupy and RyNinDaCleM!  Let's hope that comes to $ 100,000 and we're all good!  Cheesy

RyNinDaCleM would you mind elaborating on that unbelievably (for me, and I'm a bear!) bearish scenario.
Do you mean that if long term support at 340$ will be broken (and I believe it will be), then what follows might be a death spiral?

Months ago I made this prediction, and I was called insane for making it:

Tzupy, what's your ~ target for bottom of Wave C at this time? Cheesy

Between 80$ (harsh scenario, 2011 like) and 300$ (mild scenario, 2013 like), Gox prices.

We arrive again at US $ 1.200 or more in the future?

You can make any line with any two points.  Its not a significant line unless you have at least three points that line up, which would show the line to actually be a level of support or resistance.

Bitstamp's chart from 404 to 378 looks clearly like ending diagonal.

Looks nested to me

What time zone is used for the times along the bottom axis of this chart?

Always UTC for crypto Wink

UTC is sometimes known as Zulu time.

Ryan, is it possible that I'll buy bitcoins at $380/BTC in next 2 weeks and sell them at $1600/BTC at the end of this year ?

Sorry, but that is a question I cannot answer at this time Tongue

You can not reply using the interpretation of the graph, ok.
But what is your feeling about it? Could you tell us?
Thank you!

A group of female engineers are working on a new CPU.
Based on female logic, it uses four different boolean values:
 0-Neither YES nor NO:
 1-Either YES or NO:
 2-NO three times:
3-NO and never mention this to me again ever

Who are you and why are you posting this crap on this thread?

I'm a miner and
this is just a joke.
Please do not bother!

I understand that it's a joke, but it is not funny, and as this is the first time you have participated in this thread, I was wondering why you are posting that here of all places? I'm sure there is a sub-forum on here for posting stuff like that, this just seems a very odd choice of places to start randomly spamming poor jokes...

Okay I'll activate the "no jokes"  Wink

“GHash.IO does not have any intentions to execute a 51% attack… it could risk our investments in physical hardware and we see no benefit from having 51% stake in mining”.

Concerns however have been raised in response to suggestions that Ghash can be trusted even in the theoretical scenario that it gains 51% hashrate of the entire network. It is argued that although Ghash itself might not profit from such an attack, they might be coerced or bribed  by government entities or entities which may see bitcoins as a competitor. The currently increasing hashrate share of Ghash therefore is seen as alarming by some, while others consider it to be a temporary blip due to numerous unpredictable factors.  Undecided

Danger! GHash.io controls 40% of the hashrate!
