The problem with a line chart is that it's usually based on an average. OHLC avg, HLC, VWAP, etc... So it's doesn't tell the whole story and it won't show overlaps that invalidate a count either. Candlesticks and OHLC bars are best suited for this job.
Furthermore, the shape of a candlestick also brings relevant market information.

Since this question seems directed at me, I'll try to answer: if the bottom won't be below 250$, then IMO a return to the ATH and more
in the second half of 2015 is almost certain. But for me the most important is that bitcoin stays healthy until the second half of 2016,
when the block reward halving combined with a general uptrend should create a nice mania phase.
I'll agree there with the exception that going below 250 doesn't matter. It will be bearish, yes, but the bullish long term will still be valid. My reply would be as long as Bitcoin doesn't die due to abandonment or protocol failure, it is all but guaranteed to make new all time highs eventually.

You can make any line with any two points. Its not a significant line unless you have at least three points that line up, which would show the line to actually be a level of support or resistance.

GHash.IO does not have any intentions to execute a 51% attack
it could risk our investments in physical hardware and we see no benefit from having 51% stake in mining.
Concerns however have been raised in response to suggestions that Ghash can be trusted even in the theoretical scenario that it gains 51% hashrate of the entire network. It is argued that although Ghash itself might not profit from such an attack, they might be coerced or bribed by government entities or entities which may see bitcoins as a competitor. The currently increasing hashrate share of Ghash therefore is seen as alarming by some, while others consider it to be a temporary blip due to numerous unpredictable factors.
