Re: What coins are worth buying NOW
by
carrymentality
on 02/05/2018, 23:42:23 UTC
I would say that you can't go far wrong investing in any of the top market cap coins right now, as they have all fallen in value and can be bought at bargain basement prices. ETH has fallen significantly and is currently at a very attractive price.

If I was to mention just one, it would be Oyster (PRL) as I can really see it taking off once they launch their tech, and on April 6th they are taking a snapshot and airdropping their secondary coin (SHL) on a 1/1 basis, so for each PRL you hold in your wallet you will get one SHL. The price has already inflated a bit though in anticipation.

It is all speculation though, you have to do your homework before investing in anything and be prepared for the worst, as the market is still not in great shape at the moment.

I agree. Ethereum is beginning to gain its value back once again, so before it achieves it's max price point, it's better to invest in it now, especially since the coin is going up. It's a good time to invest because you won't have to wait for a long time to get a profit as compared to buying coins when it's at its lowest point because although you would surely have profit, you would have to wait for a long time before that profit can be realized.

Re: do you guys pay Taxes for profit?
by

on 02/05/2018, 23:32:36 UTC
Hi.

i didn't traded so much of my crypto for FIAT so i didn't dealt with that question yet.

however i think it's an issue need to be dealt with.

1. do you use accounting services?
2.if so, do you keep documentation of all traded or bought coins?
3. what do you do in cases of profit from ICO's

WHAT SHOULD I DO??

Well, you can always do as you please to note how much profit your getting. If you want to account for your business and how much you get, then by all means. However, if you would have to put that accounting to another person and pay him to do it for you. I am not sure if that will be worth it because the amount of what you can get with your ventures, especially when you are starting may not be that much, and also, it would be better if you do it yourself because, at least, it's free and you get to learn first hand how much you earn and the adjustments you need to make for it to be bigger, in cases if it is not within your profit goal.

Re: hold or sell? help me

Currently I own a lot of altcoin, I bought them at ico. My account is being downgraded several times. There are many people who say bitcoin will continue to decrease, so altcoin prices also decreased compared to USDT. So now, should I sell them and wait for the price to buy back? Give me advice  Sad Sad

That depends mate. Check the market, if the coins you are holding would not do you any good right now, and trading it would only lead to losses, then don't do it mate. Be smart with your investments, I am sure that everybody including yourself do business in this market to earn profit, therefore, if the move you will make would just give you losses instead of gains, then why even risk it and go through it. However, if you see that what you will do in terms of disposing your coins would give you profit, no matter how small or big it is, then do as you please. Having small profit is always better than having no profit at all.

Re: Bitcoin vs Bitcoin Cash
by

Well, you can be sure that they made enough money from bitcoin cash.

They mined bitcoin cash even when it was unprofitable to mine, because later they made an organized pump and they were managed to push it to 0.5BTC at most of the exchanges which is completely crazy.

Bitcoin cash is being completely controlled by the chinese strong players, it's a centralized coin that is being used for manipulations only.

Bitcoin for sure. Bitcoin cash and other similar coins are only made due to forks, or at least, are made as copies of Bitcoin. And as we all know, it's always the original that prospers. I am not saying that in consideration of the point of origin, like for example with NEO and ETH, many say that since NEO is the China copy of ETH that it's not better, I don't share that belief because copy or not, it has it's own technology at its back and it also has their own following of people who support them, it's just that people trust the original more.

Re: is this the end of crypto?
by
carrymentality
on 02/05/2018, 22:43:44 UTC
as we know all altcoin prices are all down, and bitcoin prices have also entered the price of $ 8000 is this a sign that crypto will end? and bitcoin prices will return like the starting price in 2016? because every thing has its time and I hope this is not the time for crypto to expire and in the future I expect altcoin and bitcoin prices to return normal again and increase the price.

I wouldn't jump the gun and say such thing, even if Bitcoin falls in value. I say that because that how the trend with Bitcoin is. It will go down for months at a time, and then, it will surge back in value for a couple of months with the capacity to double or even triple its original value. If you look closely at its trend in the past few years, you know and you can somehow be positive that that would happen again; however, it's a matter of when not if, so the critical aspect for investors is to wait and be patient until it does happen.

Re: Which Coins are a great LONG-TERM investment ????
by
carrymentality
on 02/05/2018, 22:32:49 UTC
Hey folks,

what do you think, which tokens are a great investment for 5-10 years?

All people tend to speculate on short-term moves but I am more interested in tokens that will go up x times over the next couple of years...

so to say, the Amazons and Googles of the crypto world.

Which coins are REALLY GROUNDBREAKING in your eyes and why?

I mean Bitcoin started the whole thing but technically there are so much better, safer, faster, more anonymous coins that should take over in the long run.

Please share your opinions

If you don't qualify for altcoins or Bitcoin, then Bitcoin would always be that coin that could be best held for years or for long term investment. However, what I am not sure of is your time frame of five to ten years, I say that because that's too long even for Bitcoin; this market has so many changes happening in a day, what more in a month, and more so in a year, therefore, the relevance of one asset is always in question, especially if you are looking at such a long time. Maybe one or two years would be enough, at least make it closer mate.

Re: Bounty campaign - waste of time or great passive income?
by
carrymentality
on 02/05/2018, 22:22:04 UTC
Crypto world is in crysis now and it's not only due to red market but also because of tons of scam ICOs. And that pisses a lot of bounty hunters off cause scam ICOs produce useless unworthy tokens! People waste sometimes several months to participatein bounty and either get no tokens or get shitcoins.

It's so hard now to find a good bounty. eCoinomic.net platform is running one now and it looks pretty solid and trustworthy, they also predict a balanced growth for CNC token https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2897866.msg29799978#msg29799978

But how do you guys know if your bounty is trustable? Why do you personally trust bounty you're participating in right now?

I won't say it's a waste of time, I think you're mistakenly considering it that way because of the many negative news saying that there are so many scams, so many campaigns are destined to fail, or that there are no new products coming out of the market anymore. Well, while there is truth to all those claims, and it really does happen. It can still be considered a good venture, but you really have to do your homework and find those hidden gem projects that would really burst out of the market as compared to those that are just riding the wave.

Re: Market has woken up
by

It seems to be a new era for crypto market again. The percentage growth rate of most coins is increasing. For instance, Bitcoin Cash has risen over 80% in the last
week.

I think it did, and I agree with you that the best indicator for this is Bitcoin's gain. It is the top dog coin in the market and is usually the coin that controls the fate of the other coins, and so, if you see it going up, then it would at least give you the hope that every other coin in the market would follow suit, and in turn, the market itself would go up, which is exactly what's happening right now. My only hope is that this would be continuous rather than just a short-lived surge.

Re: Altcoins that might survive in the future?
by
carrymentality
on 25/04/2018, 22:20:42 UTC
Based on what it has been seen among the wide array of altcoins such as development, innovation, and security issues, what altcoins might survive in the future?

In my opinion, I think that the only ones prone to survive would be good old altcoins such as Litecoin and Dogecoin, but I may be wrong.

Nevertheless, I would like to know your opinion about this as well as any altcoin that might be worth holding onto for the long term.  Grin

I think it won't just "might", but it "surely" will survive. I say that because altcoins is an important part of the cryptocurrency market. It gives the market competition and action that affects how the price of one coin varies with other coins. It also helps in maintaining transactions and business, especially when the market, specifically it's better assets are not doing good. Many altcoins are actually more invested upon by people because it's cheaper, and also, because of the quickness and ease of disposing it while getting a fair profit.

Re: Tactics When Market is Falling
by
carrymentality
on 25/04/2018, 22:10:21 UTC
Hi all,
I am a relative newbie but have remained pretty calm during the difficult last week or so. The markets are falling significantly again, is this still relatively normal and is the best advice just to HODL? Moving forward I think I will set stop losses on all holdings to protect my capital against falls like this.
Thanks

I think there are two moves that people usually do. It's either sell those coins that would dump in value before they even do, with the consideration that you won't lose capital or you would gain, even a little. The other tactic is to hold. Be patient and hold. I say that because that would make sure that you would have your investment intact without danger of it being put in a situation where you would have to do business only to experience a loss in the end.

by

In your opinion when do you predict alt coins will be stable again?

It's hard to do that mate, honestly. It's because we're just starting to gain; the market is just on its way to go green, and if you would conclude or predict with such a small information or sample size in terms of gain in your hands, then you cannot come up with any reliable guesses, more so considering it as something that would be certain. However, what I can say about the gain is that it's a good sign and indicator that this market still has life in it, opposite to those who claim that the cryptocurrency market is dead.

Re: Patience is the key
by
carrymentality
on 25/04/2018, 21:50:19 UTC
As a matter of fact, it is very few number of noobs in the cryptocurrency business that understand the level at which patience is required and valuable in the business. I do tell my friends around me that wish to come in to the business “it’s only patience ones that would feed from the milk of a lion” . I bought some coins few weeks ago, which I decided to hold while it was dipping but I keep holding with zero fear and absolute patience. Presently, i’m In over 47% profit in all. My advice to my colleagues is all you need is buy into coins with good potential and relax even while it’s at dip. Trust me, you won’t live to regret anything if only you would be able to hold with patience. Thanks

I agree 200% mate. Patience is really an important attitude in this market, that it can make or break your investment. The discrepancy of what you can lose or what you can earn in this market can be spelled by a couple of minutes, days, weeks or months, and patience surely plays a part as to who would be successful and who would fail. In this market, many ventures have in them an aspect of waiting, which can only be endured with patience. And sure enough, those that prosper are those that can wait for the right time to do business.

Re: ETH price recovering slowly
by

Good news is the eth uis gaining its momentum on his own line
now i can see the chart as it was a prediction from a analyst
he once told me to but eth in low price.....
and im hoping to get some profit from eth
as the preiction says that it will gain 1000$+ in this year

I am observing it closely too, and I must say, I like what I am seeing. I am just hoping that this is the start of the surge everyone is waiting for because many people can't endure anymore and would soon lose hope if they see the better coins in the market dwindling in value. Also, it gives people a good margin to do some business that would give them profit or at least mitigate their losses. especially those who have been patient for all these months.

Re: Good time to buy ETH now?

on 25/04/2018, 21:30:13 UTC
Hi guys,

do you think it's a good time to buy ETH now? Price seems to be kinda low, but I'm not sure what to expect from ETH during the upcoming weekend & the aug1-happening after..
Do you think it's better to wait a few days...?

In this market, there is no "best" time to actually buy or invest in something, anytime may be a good and best time, especially if you have a lot of capital to spare, another one to consider is the coin you're investing, and in this case, with Ethereum; I say that it's good coin to invest at anytime, similar to Bitcoin. It's because they have good values and support groups that continuously help it grow, if not, retain what value they have, and most importantly, surge and get back the value that it lost.

Re: in 2020 wich one will be higher bitcoin or ethereum ?
by
carrymentality
on 25/04/2018, 21:10:30 UTC
in your opinion which one has the chances to go high by 2020 .........

1. ethereum

2. bitcoin

Although I support and like Ethereum no doubt. When it comes to comparing it with Bitcoin, I think most people, including myself, would side with Bitcoin in this comparison. I say that because Bitcoin is still the better coin amongst the two; with more experience, support, and most importantly, value under its belt. Therefore, that gives it better marketability and capacity to always increase in value, and as compared to Ethereum, which usually takes quite a while to gain value, Bitcoin has that capability to surge staggeringly that it can triple its value when it happens.

Re: MyEtherWallet hack
by
carrymentality
on 25/04/2018, 20:50:22 UTC
It seems that someone has successfully hacked MyEtherWallet and has stolen some people’s tokens. Mine seem to be fine for now.

Has anyone lost any Etherium or tokens and does anyone know how the hack was perpetrated?

This is potentially a major security risk because we all know that keeping coins on an exchange is a high risk. Now using MyEtherWallet may also be risky.

Hopefully it's not true. Recently, I have been reading lots of articles and claims that myetherwallet is not safe anymore, and that many hackers have cracked how you invade and steal coins that are held in e-wallet sponsored by it. However, I think that it is still one of the best wallet around to hold coins, I still have not seen any reliable and true accounts of hacked myetherwallets except those that have been scammed or victimized through shady enrollments like scam airdrops. Thus, I would still believe that the people behind this wallet would do something to safeguard the coins of the many people using it.

Re: ETH v NEO
by
carrymentality
on 25/04/2018, 20:40:15 UTC
Which do you think is better and why?

I would go with Ethereum because it's the more well-received in the market, and it's the pioneer amongst these two coins that share somewhat the same technology and background. The only major difference with these coins is that Ethereum was developed in the US, and NEO was developed in China. NEO was even dubbed as the Chinese version Eth at one point, therefore, I side with Eth because the pioneer usually leads the copy; I am not saying that it's because it's made in China, but the fact that Eth has more experience and it commands more support from people.

Now all the markets are crashing down and I don't know what to do with my altcoins. My briefcase fell 30% in a couple of days. I'm afraid I might lose more. Selling or hodl?

Well, my suggestion is if you have not reached your target profit, then just be patient. You already know somehow that even if the market would dump in general, it would also experience gains because that's what the cycle is in this market. It may take longer or shorter, but it's always just a matter of when and not if. Therefore, if you are a true believer of the market, then you would do the smart thing which is to be patient and hold your coins until such time you can dispose it for profit.

Re: Do Altcoins really have a future?
by
carrymentality
on 18/04/2018, 10:55:57 UTC
I believe Bitcoin has a future in long term. It proved itself in the past years and it is getting widely popular. It just has a transaction fee problem atm.

What about the altcoins? Who does use them for real? Will people use them in the future for real purpose?

I only have a hope for ethereum and litecoin, but not for the rest. I am not even sure for eth and ltc.

If bitcoin solves the reansaction fee and time problem, I doubt eth and ltc even have a future.

Yes, definitely, I think they do. I think everyone is just so focused on Bitcoin because it has the best value and marketability in the market that it has shifted so many eyes on it and commanded unwavering support from the many people venturing in this market. However, I think that altcoins are equally essential no matter how small or big it is because it's the asset that competes with Bitcoin and gives it a run for its money. It's not a good market if everything is one sided, meaning only a few assets are prevailing because there would not be any diversity in the ventures of people, which would certainly kill off the market in the future.

Re: Is still Ok to invest in Etherium
by
carrymentality
on 18/04/2018, 10:41:04 UTC
Hi guys,

I was trying to invest around 5K in Etherium. The price at the moment is around 1.2K and as it looks it is still growing. You think is it a good time to invest ?

I would say yes. Ethereum is still one of the few coins in the market that receives good reviews, in general, more so, massive support from people across the community. It is really one of those reliable and enduring coins, that even though it has a bad side of gaining quite slowly, people still opt to trust in the coin because it has shown many times over how it can recover even despite losses. Anyway, many coins in the market right now are not doing good, including Bitcoin, which is the top coin. So, what's happening right now can't be interpreted as the death of a coin because it's happening to everything else.
