Good evening everyone ...

i was previously on windows 10 for mining ... but i ran in so much trouble and difficulty and then i bought Ethos.
but i have 3 issue to setup ethos ...

si i have imaged ethos 1.3.1 on a usb3 stick
i'm able to boot on it but now i'm facing few issues ...

1. I have a mixed rig (1R9 280X + 1RX70 + 1RX58 +2x 1050 TI). At the launch of ethos he's able to see all the 5 cards but once i'm on the desktop he see only 3 cards (The 3 AMD).
i think i have read somewhere i have to setup claymore to be able to run the 5 cards

https://ibb.co/fNKGk8">https://preview.ibb.co/hnCrJT/ethos1.png" alt="ethos1" border="0">

2. i have updated the local.conf file this way to use claymore but when i try minestart he tell me: invalid miner specified
i also see lot of people talking about a third files (claymore.stub.conf) to configure claymore but unable to find it ...

Code:
globalminer claymore
maxgputemp 85
stratumproxy enabled
proxywallet ethaddress.minername/myemail
dualminer enabled
dualminer-coin dcr
proxypool1 eth-eu1.nanopool.org:9999
proxypool2 eth-eu2.nanopool.org:8888

3. i get clock error gpu clock problem. GPU0 and GPU1 are affected how to get ride of this? (as when i was in windows 10 i didn't got this kind of error)

4. how to proceed for my NVDIA cards to be detected?

thank for your help

1) EthOS can't run a mix of AMD and Nvidia, it only runs one or the other. You will need a second rig for your Nvidia cards, or sell them and buy equivalent AMDs.

EDIT TO ADD: It may be POSSIBLE to run both, but not through the config files and probably not visibly in the control panel. You can try starting a second miner separately in the cli, but I have no idea if that will work. I know that method works for CPU mining, but it does hinder the GPU hashrate slightly.

2) did you set the miner to run on local and not remote? The instrux to do so are on the EthOS mainpage, it's a simple command (I don't remember it offhand, but it's literally just one command in the cli).

3) As for the clock error problems, usually those are due to global settings with mixed cards, but since you don't seem to have any clock settings listed, it's probably because you are including the claymore flags line. You don't need those in EthOS, you already have pool and wallet info for both coins above it; comment that line out and see if that fixes the issue.

4) See 1. It (and the lack of CPU mining, which doesn't bother me) are the only negatives to EthOS I've found in almost a year of use...

Thank you for the reply.

i got them working mixed with claymore (indeed it's not appearing on the desktop. i have to do a show miner in the terminal and then i can see what i'm looking for.

Now i juste a to OC 3 cards (1 is OC in the bios of the card) and everything will be perfect.

Only the HD one is not mining, i moved her to my second computer who's mining burst coin with HDD

memory are the same, manufacture date, ... everything the same BUT ...
for unknow reason GPU1 is not accepting the same OC as the GPU 0 ...

i have lowered little bit OC and for now seems to be ok

ETH - Total Speed: 27.994 Mh/s, Total Shares: 3, Rejected: 0, Time: 00:21
ETH: GPU0 14.154 Mh/s, GPU1 13.839 Mh/s

dont power your riser with sata or molex to sata

he will work only with the usb cable linking the PCi and the riser?
#
no connect riser with molex or 6pin directly

don't have free 6 pin connector.
need to add one more alimentation to do that

riser was received with usb cable to link the pci slot to the card and 6 pin connector linked on the riser and output sata
see this ling they are the one i bought:

When adding new cards especially if you mix (nvida and amd) uninstall the drivers with DDU, and then reinstall the drivers. I'd also add each card in turn so you can work out if you have a bad riser or card. Also if you can test with 1 PSU to rule that out

all cards are functionning because i was using them previously on my computer.
i bought a RX 570 to replace the two R9 280x and then wanted to add the two R9 280 to my mining computer
all riser are working also tested each one by one

only both card not working together (ok for the 580 1050ti detected but crash every 5 min, and R9 280x not detected at all)

HELP + REWARD - issue to add 3 GPU to my mainboard (already 2 GPU was present)

Working help will be tipped when i will be able to mine

Good morning,

i hope you can help me, i'm trying to add 3GPU to my mining config but i'm facing somme issue ...

my hardware:
POWER: 700 WATT BRONZE + 650 WATT
Motherboard: MSI Z77A-G45 (UP to 3 Video card)
CPU: Intel Core I3 - 3220 @ 3.30GHZ
Memory: 16GO DDR3
Video card: 2x SAPPHIRE DUAL R9 280X 3GO DDR5 OC
2x MSI NVIDIA GFORCE GTX 1050TI 4GO OC
                 1X MSI RADEON RX580 8GO OC
hard disk: 300 GB WD Scorpio (probably a 5400 round) 2.5"

First config i have tried:

Rx 580 on PCIE 16X (Motherboard)
2x 1050 TI on PCIE 16x (Motberboard)
2x R9 280X on PCI 1x (with riser card 1x to 16x powered by sata) => https://www.amazon.fr/dadaptateur-Amplifi%C3%A9e-dextension-dalimentation-Adaptateur/dp/B073MK1QWP/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1519200146&sr=8-1&keywords=riser+1x+16x

700Watt was powering the mainboard (24 PIN + 2x 4 PIN CPU connector) and the two R9 280x (1x8 PIN + 1x6 PIN on each card).
This one was probably also powering the two 1050TI as they take power only from the PCI-E slots

650Watt was powering the RX580 (1x 8PIN), the two 1x-16x riser (6 pin on card > Sata on PSU) and the hard disk

Result: 2 cards detected (RX580 and 1 1050TI)
Mining: RX 580 => Was OK  1050Ti: where not detected by the miner

Second config i have tried:

removed temporarly the two R9 280x.
Rx 580 on PCIE 16X (Motherboard)
1x 1050 TI on PCIE 16x (Motberboard)
1x 1050 TI on on PCI 1x (with riser card 1x to 16x powered by sata) =>
https://www.amazon.fr/dadaptateur-Amplifi%C3%A9e-dextension-dalimentation-Adaptateur/dp/B073MK1QWP/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1519200146&sr=8-1&keywords=riser+1x+16x

700Watt was powering the mainboard (24 PIN + 2x 4 PIN CPU connector)
This one was probably also powering one 1050TI as they take power only from the PCI-E slots

650Watt was powering the RX580 (1x 8PIN), one 1x-16x riser (6 pin on card > Sata on PSU) with one 1050TI and the hard disk

Result: 3 cards detected (RX580 and 1 1050TI)
Mining: RX 580 => Was OK  1050Ti: both detected BUT always error while mining and loose of hash (with one card i'm at 14MHZ on ether and with two i'm at 11.500 MHZ each)

Good afternoon everyone,

i'm facing a strange issue since i have formated my computer this morning. i'm mining with 2x SAPPHIRE R9 280X 3GB OC.
i was mining at 23MHZ (combined) on ETH + DEC

after the format of my computer i'm not able to mine anymore.

you already have 7 PCIE slots, not 3

indeed after a quick check

i have 3x PCI-E 16x and 4x PCI-E 1x

so only riser will be enought

can you show me pics or name of kind of riser i need to have more pci-e slot on my computer?
only one i found seems to be just an extender not a multiplier.

i'm interested on extending my 3 slots to seven.

Actually i have 3 cards and 4 more are comming.

Dual mining VS Single mining questions
by
ccexperiment
on 09/02/2018, 11:17:04 UTC
Hello,

i have simple question regarding the dual mining instead single mining.

Currently my configuration is this one:

1X RX 580 8GB => Dual mining ETH and DEC for around 30MHZ in ETH and 900 MHZ in DEC
1X GTX 1050 TI 4GB => Dual mining ETH and DEC for around 14MHZ in ETH and 300 MHZ in DEC
1x R7 360 2GB => Mining XMR via the minergate GIU (because i'm not able to use this one with claymore - Not able to create DAG files)

So waht's the best? only mining ETH or double mining?
while double mining do i loose some ETH share?
high DCRI will reduce perf to obtain ETH share or doesn't matter?

thank you for reply

have a nice day

Best regards
Frederic

Claymore is not recognizing my NVDIA GPU
by
ccexperiment
on 09/02/2018, 07:43:00 UTC
Good morning,

i don't know if the right place to ask, but i have an issue with Claymore ...

I'm currently mining with 3 Cards

1 MSI RX 580 Armor 8GB OC
1 MSI R7 360 2GB
1 MSI NVIDIA GTX 1050TI

with the RX580 i mine with Claymore 11.0 Ether and DCR (i ask claymore to use a specifc GPU)
with the R7 360 as i'm unable to use it with Claymore to mine XMR i use Minergate GUI

for the 1050 TI i want to use also Claymore to mine Ether and DCR (on another folder with other parameters, ...) but he see only AMD cards ...
The card is working as i can use it on Minergate GUI if i want (but i don't like really minergate and prefeer to mine on nanopool for ETH and coinmine for DCR)
