Hey Christian,

Are there any other improvements that could be made for scrypt mining with the GTX 750 Ti's with the Maxwell chips?  It seems like there is unlocked potential with these cards.

Thank you for your efforts.

Too bad the 7th card didn't work. I want to switch to Windows so I can overclock these and essentially get a 7th card's worth of hashing.

CyberCrist, I was able to get 6 EVGA 750Ti FTW cards running on the ASRock Z87 Killer.

BIOS
PCI-E 1 (gen2)
PCI-E 2 (gen1)
PCI-E 3 (gen1)
Also disabled integrated graphics and changed PEG0 De-emphasis Control to -6dB

PHYSICAL
PCI-E 1 (x1)   --> 750 TI (1x riser, shorted)
PCI-E 2 (x16) --> 750 TI (1x riser, shorted)
PCI-E 3 (x1)   --> 750 TI (1x riser, shorted)
PCI-E 4 (x1)   --> 750 TI (1x riser, shorted)
PCI-E 5 (x16) --> 750 TI (1x USB riser, shorted)
PCI-E 6 (x1)   --> 750 TI (1x riser, shorted)
PCI-E 7 (x16) --> EMPTY

It's messy at the moment and I have to clean up now that it's working but here are pics for proof.  It's funny, we're very close in the equipment we used Smiley  I tried using a bootable Linux USB stick but had issues so I'm using an old hard drive.  I have an EVGA 750W PSU but it's only pulling about 460W from the wall.  These cards run very cool.  I don't have a 7th card to try and I likely won't.  For some reason I couldn't get a ribbon riser (also shorted) to work in the PCI-E 5 (x16) slot and when I tried a USB riser, it worked.  I have a monitor plugged into the PCI-E 2 (x16) slot.  Just like you I don't want to mess with it now that it works.

I am upset that I can't overclock these cards in Linux.  There's so much more potential.  What speeds are you getting with all 6?  I am getting about 1550 KH/s mining Litecoin with CudaMiner.

Can you please share a link to the bios power mod you used?

Specs:
EVGA GTX 750Ti FTW (has 6 pin power connector)
Intel G3220 on ASRock Fatil1ty Z87 Killer

Conservative overclock: +50 GPU, +500 Memory

And the results (scrypt):
Baseline (plugged straight into x16 slot): 290-299 kh/s

Non-powered x1-x16 in x1 slot: 270-280 kh/s
Powered x1-x16 in x1 slot: 272-282 kh/s
USB powered x1-x16 in x1 slot: 270-277 kh/s
USB powered x1-x16 in x16 slot (gen 1): 266-269 kh/s
USB powered x1-x16 in x16 slot (gen 2): 288-295 kh/s
USB powered x1-x16 in x16 slot (gen 3): 288-297 kh/s
Non-powered x16-x16 riser: 292-297 kh/s

 Thanks for this info. I was expecting more from these cards. Did you try any higher overclocking? And how many cards did you try at one time?

Somewhat related, I have been waiting more than 105 days to transfer USD out of MtGox into my bank account.  Their stupid support system won't give me a valid reason why it is taking so long.  I am afraid to convert it back into Bitcoin to transfer that out because it sounds like even that won't work.  They are holding my money hostage and I will never be using them again after this.  What frustrates me is that I sold 1 bitcoin when it was close to 200 USD and I have been unable to get that back.  Of course they won't convert it back to the 1 bitcoin I originally had but I chose to sell with them because the price was right at the time.  Ugh!

Yacoin needs to be added to this page:
https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/List_of_alternative_cryptocurrencies

Can anyone help with the details for it?

No offense, but I don't think putting coins into arbitrary catagories like "dying" is helpful. Besides, that list only representing a tiny fraction of all the currencies today, and it doesn't even have a single scrypt-jane coin on it, and even if it does, it's not noted there.

I agree with you about it not being helpful putting the coins into categories.  I think Yacoin should be represented though (not in the dying category of course), especially if we are mining for it Smiley

It may still make sense to increase the default batch size -b 1024 to something like -b 4096 or -b 8192 when running interactive mode with scrypt-jane. This costs a bit of display smoothness, but adds more hash/s.

Thanks for the tip ! - increased my 770M hashrate from 1.1 to 1.33 on windoze (-b 4096)

Using -b 8192 I was able to increase my hashrate from 1.11 to 1.26 on my GTX 650.  Doubling to 16384 didn't seem to have an effect.

Hello Hashaholics Anonymous,

My name is CDogster and I am addicted to hashing hardware.  It has been less than 1 second since my last hash and I will likely be hashing again in the next second.  I am currently hashing at 50 GH/s and the bitcoin gateway currency has led me to begin hashing in litecoin.  With merged mining of namecoin, I expect no end to my addiction and will likely dabble in the other cyrpto currencies.

How much is the fee for Hashaholics Anonymous and can I pay in bitcoin?

Sincerely,
CDogster

3.2 kHash/s?  Is that a typo?  Or perhaps that's the increase you're seeing now?  Sorry, I'm confused.

Is there anyway to reduce the heat on a GTX580?
when i use cudaminer 2013-12-10 i can set the fan to auto-mode and it stays at 62% Fan @ 72 °C

CudaMiner.exe -i 0 -H 1 -C 1 -l F16x16 @ 307 kh/s

What hashrate do you get?

I get about 250 KH/s running the 2013-12-10 build on my EVGA GeForce GTX 580 using:

-i 1 -H 1 -m 1 -C 2 -l F16x16

Regardless of the Nvidia debate, the question still stands...

Is there a way to change/adjust GPU "usage/or intensity" and/or target temp?  Ideally via a parameter to cudaminer?
