Latest software update on my G-Blade and 5 chip dual miners using Starminer software. Has been running over 26 hours rock solid with a simple conf file edit called out in Ticket#7 using the WebUI tool provided. Below is a JPG showing stats. GSD 0 and 1 are the G-Blade, GSD 2 is a 5 chip dual miner. Kudos to the Starminer team, nice software package and design and thanks to 24Kilo ,X-Hash bd  and Powersup for thir comments.

Update on RPi Starminer software for the G-Blade. About 2 hours after posting it was running fine after 18 hours , it died with a buffer overflow  error on gseed driver. After rebooting it ran for 15 hours then died with the same error. Will fill out a ticket and hopefully get some help to get it corrected. Current operation is unacceptable.

I have never used Starminer as I prefer the jmordica fork of cgminer nor a RPi because I could never get a Pi stable with number of GSD's I run per controller.

Can you post a copy of your .bat or .conf file? If is it a buffer-overflow then it is not the G-Blade mostly but the controller.

After seeing your .bat or .conf... I will see if there is any advice I can give you.

Make sure you use a good powered USB hub to connect your blades.  Also a good pi power supply, and high quality SD card are a must.  Pi's are a little fragile and need to be paired with quality components.  I switched from minera to starminer as I find starminer more stable on the pi's.

I will post my config later if you like.

On another note, my 2 x G-blades arrived from x-hash today.  I haven't had a chance to open as I'm at work.  I will post a full report later.
24Kilo ,X-Hash bd  and Powersup, Tnx for the comments.

24Kilo, I'm pretty committed to the RPis as controllers, have had one running over 3 mos with Minepeon and a OSM, it's been rocksolid. The Starminer support team has been very responsive and I'll know in about 10 hours whether their suggested fix worked or not. If not, I will look into the jmordica fork of cgminer or Scrypta.  I know the G-Blade is not at fault for the buffer overflow, ran fine for several days on my Laptop using Windows 8.1 and a modded CGMiner 3.7.2 with no problems.

xhash bd, I thought about the use of the modded wii controller with RPi software but wanted the simplest and easiest setup, the RPi with the Starminer software took less than 20 minutes to setup after downloading the image and reading the Wiki, I wish all programs were that versatile. For my applications the RPi was ideal.

powersup,   I'm using a good powered hub as well as a UPS powering the components, I haven't had any hardware issues to date, software is another matter. How many G-Blades on you running on the RPi ? The CPU load indicated by Starminer is 0.9 to 1.1, so I'm thinking 2 G-Blades are about all the RPi can comfortably handle

subseaguru asked

"what was the shipping fee from china to the us for one of the gridseeds?"

My shipping cost for a single unit in a double box was via DHL air  from Beijing to Los Angeles, CA then local delivery was $52.

Update on my new G-Blade using Rpi as controller with  Starminer software. It's been running over 18 hours now and appears stable except for a power bump yesterday, about 5 minutes outage. I apologize for the photo quality but it's clear enough to see the performance. The latest Starminer release is running  CGMINER 4.3.5

First jpg is temp setup with RPi.

next shot is closeup of  CGMINER display for single G-Blade, shows up a two devices, 0 and 1 each running at 2.8 MH/s at a difficulty of 512

Hope this has been helpful and Thanks to Scynthetic for link to Starminer.

Another update, I'm now running my RPi with Starminer which was recommended by  Scynthetic at the Litecoin forum, https://litecointalk.org/index.php?topic=19129.0
Starminer was designed with RPI in mind. Using the latest version 27 June, works good with G-Blade and easy to install and use. After booting RPi up installed wireless with sudo wicd-curses. Used the WebUI to setup, startup, passwords and config info are in Starminer Wiki. Took less than 20 minutes to set up after downloading and reading Wiki.

An update on my new G-Blade, still running Windows 8.1 and CGMINER 3.7.2 and still not fully optimized. The G-Blade by itself runs 5.2 to 5.5 MH/sec (indicated by pool) at a difficulty of 384. CGMINER display is off by a factor of 5, thought it would be 8. When I added a single 5 chip miner it slowed it to 4.6 to 4.8 MH/sec, so it appears the the 5 chip miners which normally run at 128 or 256 difficulty get choked at the 384 difficulty, looks like I'll need another RPi or try and Multicast with Windows as I've done in the past, to avoid waste of a laptop.

I wanted to relate my experience as well with X-Hash and Sylvia. I did have reservations at first because I was burned by Markets.CX for 3 mos worth of Litecoin mining and the deal seemed to good to be true. Since X-Hash was authorized by Gridseed and because they were very helpful and upfront ( Sylvia will Skype you)  I decided to take a chance and was quite pleased as well as relieved when the G-Blade arrived only two days after ordering. I live in Los Angeles which was the port of entry and probably helped speed its delivery. As in the previous post, the shipment was well packaged, the G-Blade had it's own box with foam as well as foam in the carrier box.
Took it upstairs and tried it out with Windows 8.1 and CGMiner 3.7.2 init with hotplug 80 chips and freq 838 MHz. Also had the 5 chip miner running. That version of CGMiner needs some additional mods for the G-Blade, The CGMINER display indicated 600 MHz instead of 838 MHz  and the mining pool hashrate is 4.1 MH/sec vs the 5.5 MH/sec anticipated.  I'll be using a RPI with Scrypta as a controller when I get fully setup and expect the G-Blade will be performing to its rated values of 5.2 MH/sec . Attached are two photos, the first after opening the shipping box, the second the G-Blade in operation with temporary setup.
