Re: Bitcoin vs Traditional currencies
by

on 19/12/2020, 10:00:21 UTC
Today we saw bitcoin hit an all time high of $23k while its traditional counterparts are suffering a decline in value. Historically, when someone desires financial stability, they naturally go for safe investment is, such as gold, stocks, real estate. But with the outbreak of the corona virus pandemic we have experienced a shift in global economy, countries are facing inflation. As a result many individuals are beginning to see Bitcoin as a safer investment than its counterparts. Countries are slowly adopting crypto as a means of payment. Will bitcoin eventually dominate the world economy and replace traditional currencies?
No it won't, at least I don't see that future.
Bitcoin will remain as an investment instrument for whales as it is right now.
Cryptocurrency will most likely replace fiat currencies or at least will be as popular and as adopted as fiat.
You should understand that bitcoin is already 10 years old and it won't be updated properly probably ever.
So I believe in crypto dominating the world, not bitcoin in particular

I guess PayPal crypto involvement is not the only thing to be excited about, huawei have announced that their upcoming Mate 40 smartphone series will include the following
So what's your take?
Huawei is not even the first one to do such thing - samsung partnered with gemini, if I'm not mistaken, like couple months ago to pursuit same goal.

Re: Fake token on swap platform
by

literately malfunction token. The problem is the token can only 'buy', but can't be sold. There are tricks in the selling code that only the owner (scammer) can sell. Outside people can only buy but never sell successfully. The scammers create the pairing pool using their token, then buy it to create an up-shooting curve. They will come back later to collect all ETHs leaving the garbage tokens stuck in tricked buyer's account.
Are there any real examples of this?
I mean I totally can believe in such scam scheme, just curious to witness it myself.

Re: I like to collect the token

Do you have a preference for collecting tokens instead of selling them?
Currently in my wallet there are more than 200 tokens with different values and I do not sell them every time it is listed. I keep them and watch them every day. I was fascinated by the fact that there were many tokens in my wallet and not paying attention to their price.
Do you think this is a crazy hobby?
There is nothing crazy about if its not a collection, but a long term investment.
I don't know if numismatists do their hobby because of potential profit one coin can grant them, but something tells me its not about profits at all.
If you're collecting digital coins just like numismatist - its up to you, I guess, but I can claim it sounds a bit strange.
I do not sell my tokens just like as you don't, but I do it purely for my profits and because I really believe in some projects I've invested in

Re: CMC: Top DeFi Tokens by Market Capitalization

Coinmarketcap now has a display for DeFi Tokens by Market Capitalization.
It's just how they define tokens to be DeFi though, And do you think it's a complete list or something is missing? I think this is great though, specially for those who are not familiar with this new hype is crypto market, so good job CZ (although sometimes I think he is becoming too powerful!).
Speaking of Cz - he surely is one of the most powerful men in crypto industry (Which is on pace of constant growth for past like 10 years).
But at least we can see his influence is positive overall

Re: Fixed amount vs. infinite coins
by
cengat
on 18/08/2020, 07:46:03 UTC
Except Satoshi Nakamoto will defreeze his million BTCbitcoinBTC there is no chance for bitcoin to became real payment alternative to 100 of fiats and inbetween 3000 alternative coins, some with infinite supply.
I was thinking the same thing recently. Even tho bitcoin's limited supply makes each sat worth more - it immobilize it and won't let it be freely distributed and exchanged among people.
So the question is - is the mechanism of making altcoin being harder to mine as we mine into the depth of it will be able to handle and cut the demand enough so it won't become worthless overtime?

Quit sleeping, you've been robbed with simple knowledge of what you don't understand.
Can't stress enough how important doing own research before investing is.
Its basically the first thing you have to do before even considering if the coin worth spending your funds on it.

Re: The return of ICOs
by

on 28/07/2020, 19:03:19 UTC
Investors have lost faith in the ICO, which is why we see IEO at the moment. It is much better and safer than an ICO, I think you should not waste your time with an ICO because no project will really succeed in this form.
I'm not sure that ICOs are dead forever, but they surely are for now.
Perhaps as time will pass, scammers will forget about ICOs, but real developers won't quit it and investors eventually will come back to it too

This might sound funny to some people but there are lot of people in this world that believes Corona virus is fake. ( think like a red pill person ) reference from the movie "The Matrix". I'm really excited to see what you guys think about it  Wink
You simply can't make anyone believe anything on purpose - its personal choice in the first place.
And their choice has some benefits - if corona is fake then they can go outside, connnect with people and etc.
However, downside is - they can be wrong, catch a virus and die eventually which is not nice at all.

Damn you are right when I tried to type Binance.us a referral link shows up and I though it was cached when using the search engine for Binance I clean my computer regularly and haven't made a visit to Binance lately but sure is embedded in the browser.

Wow they are exposed, good job for exposing them, I wonder are they doing this since we installed the browser, such cheap trick.
Not that cheap if thousands of people do use your ref link haha
Seriously though Brave still has a chance to live even after such drastic mistakes they've made.
Their client base is so wide that some of them maybe ignorant to such problems

Basically he's saying that gold will moon, that is go 10x higher than it is now.
Honestly, i doubt it. IMHO it might go up or down, but not by 10x for sure, atleast not in the sence we're seeing in crypto.
In the next 5000 years it might be worth 10x than now, once all ores are depleted and we have 1 trillion population
I agree on that. And I don't see bitcoin go 10x neither, its just too unrealistic (in compare to bitcoins supply and demand)

i'm into Deeponion at the moment. if you don't know about it click my sig links and havea read. i also like digibyte and ethereum
I am one of those who invested in this coin, more than two years ago. I got very good returns. But the trick is to book your profits at the right time. After reaching an exchange rate of almost BTC0.001 per coin, the value declined by more than 99%. I still have a few coins left in my wallet, but don't think that there will be another round of bull run with this altcoin.
Timing is everything and it is applied to crypto market 100%
My favorite coins are those I sold with great profits

Re: Is it true that now only few bounties scams?
by

on 03/06/2020, 19:18:16 UTC
It depends on your context of scam here. There are some projects that pay their bounty participants and the project it’s self becomes useless and worthless. While some won’t even pay at all maybe due to some circumstances.
Anyways only few are there you can gain out of the rest are waste of time.
There are not much scam going on - that's true.
But the percentage of worth investing your time projects is lowering month to month

Re: Coinbase from February 2009 has just been moved!
by

on 21/05/2020, 19:07:36 UTC
This is super interesting.
Whom is a great question.  But so is: Why?
I mean... the implications of this move are powerful.  The person doing it obviously has a lot more bitcoin than the coinbase of this block.  And if they wanted to fire 40BTC off somewhere for any "normal" reason they would not be picking *this* block.
Who is it? Smiley
And what on Earth are they doing this for?
I have a feeling this move is the prelude for something interesting... but then again it could just be someone moving coins around... because...  umm....   umm....
A lot of interesting question this one started indeed.
I've seen assumptions that owner of these just wanted to buy a nice house so he probably believe that was post-halving peak.
I personally hope that whoever it is he just sent these old dusty bitcoins to some charity reasons (because owner of these has a bunch of btc for sure)

I misused the world clone. Clearly the site de-fi.co is not a clone.
Just curious, is Bitcoin domain flipping still profitable?
It is but it's so hard to acquire a domain with the word Bitcoin on it, it's like some guy or company has taken the business of acquiring every domain that has the word Bitcoin on it, good luck on finding a domain if you find some you can flip it and make money by offering it on Cryptocurrency forums.
What if some guy/company actually did bother themselves buying every bitcoin related domain for instance during 2017-18 btc boom just like a long term investment
it makes so much sense now

Re: Top 5 cryptocurrencies to invest during coronavirus
by
cengat
on 02/05/2020, 14:05:05 UTC
Titancoin is certainly not among top 5 best to invest and Litecoin is a dead coin that's abandoned by the developer and has no active development whatsoever. Maybe you should improve your analyzation regarding the list of coins above otherwise it's just a baseless shill.
He is clearly promoting titancoin so whatever , I'd put monero there.
Look at litecoin's 5 year dynamic and you'll see its not dead at all. There is downtrend, but most of the time it just follows the big btc guy.
On the other hand check out xrp usd chart for same 5 years and it is a disaster. Idk why banking corporations choose ripple and I don't support it

Re: Crypto success takes time

I agree with you, and not only crypto currency, success on life also takes time.
What we need is to so the right things, follow the right steps and preparations to enjoy the best results.
If we consider digitex exchanges, it has been launched after a long time, but it js easy to use and also a beautiful interface and security.
If we follow the right projects, we would realize easily that success takes time
That's why we need to learn and remember history.
We are living in the most fleeting times (in terms of technologies and other industries' growth).
And yet we still manage to be impatient enough to complain

But nothing has really changed about xmr why do they delist it once in a while then?
It just doesn't make sense

Re: Traders need to learn
by

One of the core troubles accustomed to traders of crypto currency is their mindset.
Believe me, as a trader, you need to be confident and always trade to win and make profits.
Never have it in mind that you are trading to lose, develop a strong mentality and always dyor
Your mindsets determines what you see on a trade chart anytime
Honestly it is more likely that traders need to learn more about companies/coins they are investing in.
Your attitude and confidence matters for your mental health, not for results and profit

Re: This is it , it's the end of cryptos
by
cengat
on 31/03/2020, 09:35:42 UTC
It seems to me that people will never get tired of writing about the end of cryptocurrencies during the next strong recession. Sometimes it surprises me how all this happens, because until recently we saw bitcoin in 3000 and all the same things were shouting the same thing about the “end of cryptocurrencies”. People look around, the market is a cycle!
I don't understand it either. Every person has access to the internet. But instead of doing small research they decide they know everything better and just write "This is it , it's the end of cryptos" to the forum.
I mean there are tons of memes about "bitcoin is ded" already and still a lot people don't get it
