I don't think so, infant investments (and thats exactly what crypto currencies really are) are for people with savings/money they dont need right away.Also, there is a huge difference between gold and CCs, the main one being that gold is a highly valued commodity for the last 40-50 centuries. People feel secure when they own gold, because they know that whatever happens they can always rely on the gold. Economy crashes, USD gets hyper-inflated, people getting poorer with the hour - no worries, you still have that gold.
Totally not the same with Cryptos.... If the aforementioned happens, I can bet my shiny ass that cryptos will get blown to bits.
Think about it.. there would be a stampede for gold and silver and there would be nowhere near enough to go around it will become essentially priceless for most folks and at that point people are going to look for alternatives. Bitcoin got a boost when Greece started taking "haircuts" from there bank accounts, what do you think will happen when they start doing this globally and to add credence they have been introducing legislation to allow just that to happen. They are also working hard behind the scenes to end cash and as a side effect (or by design) all transactions will be monitored... I think this alone will draw millions of people into crypto.

I think crypto is going to take off across the board soon... The bond market is very shaky and we are seeing signs eerily similar to the 2008 banking crisis.

Kinda sounds like you're using an old scrypt-n wallet, and you need to upgrade to lyra2re wallet. I would recommend dumping your private keys, upgrading wallet, and then import your keys to new wallet and rescan/reindex.
No im using the latest wallet..
Weirdness, cause the wallet is telling you to upgrade...
?I'm getting scared to use Vertcoin now how can my money just vanish wtf. Does anyone know how I can download the prior version of the wallet v0.9.0.1 im going to try that.

Hi guys I posted this on reddit but no one is helping so i'm hoping someone can here.
I sent an sx transaction a few days ago which didn't arrive and has been seen by 0 peers. I'm also having trouble with the blockchain it wouldn't update (No block source available) I tried adding the nodes as suggested in numerous threads but no Joy I deleted peers.dat and no joy, I deleted everything apart from wallet.dat and no joy. So then I decided to backup the wallet and import the backup and then it started to update but the wallet kept crashing so I had to keep restarting to resume until I got to 43 weeks and then it got stuck with a new error message stating "Warning: Displayed Transactions may not be correct! You may need to upgrade, or other nodes may need to upgrade". To rectify this I tried starting the wallet with the flag -checkblocks=0 -checklevel=6 but it doesn't fix it. Im not to concerned about this wallet though as I have a really insignificant balance I am more concerned about the transaction I sent so if I can fix that and lose the wallet I don't care. I very much appreciate any help you can give me.

I have cashed out temporarily because I feel the price is artificially high at the moment and if it does go up I have a hell of a lot of buffer space afforded to me from the recent price rise to buy back in if need be but I refuse to let these savvy market manipulators steal my Vert. Verters who have had the conviction to hold all this time know better than to heed the warnings of doomsayers. If you are not secure in your reasons or actions you really should not be trading CC.

Bushido logged into BCT as user "Vertcoin" (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=210737) on May 16th just before the rise, but this could be pure coincidence.

You guys are so dumb if you think RyanPumper did this. The guy takes credit for any pump. I've also seen him claim big wins when there wasn't even 3 BTC volume on a coin. Such a ridiculous group
I never even heard of him before today.... I wasn't going to take him seriously by the name alone lol

You can use the -datadir=D:\where\you\want\blockchain\and\stuff flag to set it to another directory. If you're on windows you can just make a shortcut of the executable, then right click on shortcut and go to properties and add the flag/option to the end of the target field.
