Still paused ?

Yes, ASICMiner is filling other buyer orders and asked me to hold off on last weeks order. At this point, I have a few units in stock and ready to ship through ASICPuppy.net.

For batch 2-5 participants that may be receiving a tube BE controller. Pleae remember to drop the chip frequency from 270 to 240

But you will redirect all to asicpuppy or we will have more here ?

I'm trying this pool because of ghash issues.

I'm mining with 4TH for 48 hour and I made 0.08829228.

This will average in the end of the week .30 BTC.

This is normal ?

With 4TH I should be getting more a less .39 BTC by week.

Dogie, Do you have any info on the USB adapters that could be used with the Tube ?

I will not buy a Prisma, but I would like to use the USB adapter + Cubieboard with my two tubes.

I think something is wrong with DHL in HK, I bought a cubie in china and they sent me by EMS (instead of dhl) because of some problem with customs related with DHL.

Dogie, my tube came without the sheets of thermal compound, do you know what I can use instead ?

They're only strictly required if the hashing boards are damaging and so would be shorted by the aluminium heatsinks.

I used thermal paste (MX-4) and I think it's working well.

But after some time some hashing some "." in the chips are appearing.

They don't appear when the miner is restarted, they appear a while after.

Do you know what can be causing this ?

I'm using a Corsair 850W, maybe the PSU cant handle the Tube ?

Which 850W?

TX850W

Try just two boards at a time, so that way you know you're not maxing out the PSU capacity wise or the cables. Use all 4 PCI-E cables. Then swap over. If you're still getting .s appearing after time, its heat related.

If no .s, try 3 boards with 1 PCI-E cable each. If you get .s now, you need to get some 2x molex to PCI-E adapters to help reduce the cable loads.
If no .s still, it means you were maxing out the PSU capacity wise and you'll need to get an additional PSU / larger PSU.

Now the tx850w is powering only three boards and a cx750m is powering one board (and one avalon3 290 module).

It's much better now, it really was a power issue.

Thanks.

Re: Avalon4(A3222) 28nm Chips are now on sales @ ehash.com
by

For anyone who can't be bothered to use their brains, the prices are specifically high because they are SAMPLE chips. Its to discourage one developer buying more than they need which is unfair - Avalon will only have a tiny batch until their actual batches for SALE come in.

Hmm i think they should be free for established proven developers.
Such strategy is better for chips adoption.

They don't need better chip adoption, there is limited supply and they have to open it up as a level playing field. There are more developers than there are chips.

Asia has been busy buying 1,000,000s of Avalon chips while the forums have 'boycotted' them thinking its still Yifu when they quite simply don't care. This isn't the company Avalon, this isn't the company that did trade ins, this isn't the company that random batch 1 2 and 3. If people don't want to buy, they don't have to.

You will receive a module to test ? If yes, when ?

Re: ASICMiner Tube Sales Information Thread [Round3, Price at <1btc per TH/s]

My 3 tubes are hashing  at  196 to 210 GH/S per board for 2.45TH/S total at stock clock, with 1 stock fan.

Am I just lucky, or is it something I've done differently?

Well, I'm not sure, so here are my observations.

1. I think assembly technique is important. I applied the thermal pads to the heat sinks first, then made sure there were no air bubbles under the pads. Then I used an impact driver to tighten the screws in a random pattern so as to equalize board contact with the heat sink. I have the fan blowing "in", and faced the handles "out" as some others recommended.

2. I used high quality power supplies providing at least 250watts per blade.

3. I placed the tubes on a wire rack shelf providing airflow to all four sides.

4. I'm using Slush's pool with bfgminer 4.7 as a proxy. I know it should work fine without the proxy, but I hesitate to mess with success. Wink

You are using one or two pcie power connector per board ?

Only one for now. It's near impossible to find power supplies with 8 independent pcies, e.g. separate cables all the way back to the ps.

The cables get hot after a while or they are holding well ?
