It's time to update the wallet and get this coin back on the market.  Looking for anyone still interested.  Sync your wallets, etc.  Lets start a new thread here and on reddit.

I think you can go ahead to start new threads. Well, what is your plan / roadmap to get this coin back to the market?

Hi Ftriends,

I am new to crypto world, started reading about it from last one eeek and slowly exploring .

Planning to buy $1000 on hitbtc and hold it for one year.

I placed an order for Ledger Nano S hardware wallet, but it seems ledger not supporting eBTC.

Can some one suggest me a eBTC hardware wallet, I heard hardware wallets are safest for long term storage.

Thank you in advance.
Ledger nano supports erc20 tokens and ebtc is an erc20 token

Thank you. Do i need to register in My ethuriam wallet and send the coins from Hitbtc to MEW. There after send the coins from MEW to Ledger?

I wanted to be really careful while doing this.

I think you do not have to send to MEW first. But if you really want to be careful, you can still do it. It will just cost you a bit more gas for the extra transaction.

In fact the DEVs are buying, but someone is pouring, no one knows who it is.

LOL, of course they are.
What is your proof of that?
They told you?
LOL.

you can check dev address here : https://etherscan.io/token/0xeb7c20027172e5d143fb030d50f91cece2d1485d#balances

Last time i saw was around 2,5M , devs have bought a lot.

Someone is playing behind , not devs

The rank 1 address belongs to the ED, not devs.

They AirDropped eBTCnew to all holders of eBTC who had it in a wallet in which they have access to the private key before the swap. It has nothing to do with the Smart Contract itself. The Smart Contract was solely to create and distribute the new eBTC to holds of the oldeBTC who had it in a wallet which they had access to the private key too (like MyEtherWallet)

Ok. So where are all the extra coins then?
Are they 100% burned? Please show proof.
Otherwise what does this mean? Devs are holding a huge chunk of ebtc now?

Someone did an audit a few pages back, that shows there are only <13.5M circulating supply. The rest won't be released.

The dev should not hold so many coins.

The dev should re-distrubute those remaining coins to current holders. They can take another snapshot on 30 Nov (just an example date) and re-distribute those coins to all holders at that time. It will help the price too.

Question is: Did the dev really airdrop eBTCnew to any smart contract address?
This is my question. I think it's an important one.
Can someone show us proof?

Yes, this is the most important question.

Because if the dev did not do so, it should be the dev holding all those 7M+ coins without distributing them.

so, basically etherdelta could dump all of their 13M coins, right? they are the biggest holder, it is quite funny Grin

anyone?

No they're not. They dont have 13M coins. Stop spreading FUD. The 13M is the figure distributed to Token holders.

well etherdelta received a lot of ebtcnew, do you agree?

Ether/Delta only received ebtcnew from people who deposited it into their smart contract.

Question is: Did the dev really airdrop eBTCnew to any smart contract address?

You know that ED received more than 2 million from the new eBTC, and this amount was not passed on to its true owners, I imagine that the holders of the private key of this address "0x8d12a197cb00d4747a1fe03395095ce2a5cc6819" is gradually pouring in to make some money, instead of distributing to its owners masters, this is just a guess and not a prosecution.

The one that had the old eBTC in ED during the swap, look for the ED exchange administrators and demand from them your new eBTCs and not from the eBTC developers.

Are you sure eBTC team did distribute the new coins to ED?

My understanding they did not distribute to addresses holding old coins in smart contract. Was that not true?

The 3rd Round distribution on March, do I need to sent my previous byteball balance to new wallet, like 2nd round distribution?

And do I need to linked my new BTC address? or I can use my previous BTC address? which is I use for 2nd round.
You have answers in your questions. YES & YES  Smiley

I am confused. I guess both answers should be "NO" if I have not moved my funds after the 2nd distribution?

If my understanding is incorrect, please anyone can explain in a bit more details why?

Voted for a No.

I agree that ICO's are bad, but I can just skip them if I want. I also agree that there are so many scam coins, but I can skip them too.

I believe there are still a few good coins that will finally succeed. So I'm not losing interest. It's just my personal opinion. In real world there are lots of scams you can see everyday as well.

Re: Accounting question
by
chanbtc
on 26/01/2017, 14:03:15 UTC

Yes, I want to use the right exchange rate to keep my accounts as accurate as possible, I'm only using the one fiat currency and that's Euro.  I have it straight in my head now that the altcoin exchange rate doesn't matter, because that's predetermined by the amount of altcoin I end up with and the euro value I assigned to the Bitcoin "sale" on the other side of the transaction.  I just need to establish the best method of calculating that euro value, whether that means taking the value from the original purchase price of BTC (probably too much room for manipulation since I could decide those are the coins I bought at €500 or €980 or anywhere in between Cheesy ), the average purchase price of all my BTC (presently about €760) or from the exchange rate of the day (~€840).

I think you ought to be as honest as possible in calculating the original purchase price of BTC, otherwise it is not very meaningful to do your accounting.

Should not take the average unless you purchased the same amount of BTC every time.

Which is good BTC or LTC, sorry I'm newbie. Thanks!

They are two of the most long lasting cryptocurrencies (up to now).

It depends on how you define "good". Among these two, BTC is more trustful than LTC.

I'm surprised after more than two years BCT coin still alive and well.

BCT is a nice coin, still I think we need to thanks particularly sixSpeedLS1, who seems to be the one supporting BCT for this long time.

Re: How to spot an ICO SCAM
by
chanbtc
on 13/11/2016, 05:35:28 UTC
Hi guys, I want to share with you my simple methodology (beta) of spotting ICO scams.

The methodology

There are criteria with various risk points. Summarize all the points of the criteria that the ICO meets to get total score. Total score represents a risk grade on which you can lean to take a risk or not.

Scam points and criteria:
1 point: minor suspicions (for each)
3 points: anon devs; no code snippets, videos, or beta; rushing
5 points: unrealistic goals; fuzzy whitepaper; self-mod topic
10 points: bought account; no escrow

Risk and total score:
low (0-5)
medium (6-10)
high (11-15)
very high (16-20)
extremely high (21 and more)

Example

Let's imagine there's an ongoing ICO of Supercoinxxx in which you want to invest some money.

The topic is self-mod (5 points) with devs that have unrealistic goals (5 points) like creating a decentralized stock market in 2-3 month and a fuzzy whitepaper (5 points) with no technical details. Also you found two minor suspicions (2 points) based on your experience. Which gives 17 points in total. Based on that score you conclude that risk is very high and skipping this ICO.

Updated: added "no escrow" criteria.

Good methodology, at least it's a good trial dealing with ICO scam issues and it encourages people thinking carefully before investing in any ICO.
