Re: Using Litecoin To Protect Bitcoin Versus 51% Attacks - By Casascius

Well theoretically if you had the processing power to attack bitcoin, couldn't you just attack litecoin, and change the rules around including bitcoin hashes, or whatetever, before attacking bitcoin ?

Wow this is actually the most compelling thing I've seen. I'm not sold it's him, but very interesting. I mean the chances of a completely normal person wearing a clear ancap logo has got to be rare right?

Mr. Nakamoto is far too intelligent to be one of those suburban-white kid clueless-about-the-rest-of-the-world douchebag an-caps.

There's plenty of an cap academics you dolt. There's also smart people who believe stupid things

Lets say you have a certain number of indicators. Each indicator on it's own own has an 80% chance of being accurate, if you have 5 or 7 different indicators say, how likely is it that the majority would be accurate ?

Thanks.

Overall the majority will be accurate - you have said 80% will be accurate, and 80% is a majority.

Sorry, to clarify, I mean each indicator on it's own is 80% accurate.

Lets say we have 5 indicators that each will say "red" 80% of the time to indicate red, but can also sometimes say "blue" 20% of the time.

What are the chances of 3/5 of them saying "red", what are the chances of all of them saying "blue" ? etc.

5 * 0.8 = 4

How does that tell me what I'm asking ?

The problem I would see is that 99% of bitcoin owners already own plenty of dollars to buy coffee with. This could probably be more useful in the future.

Oh ya, because don't you know only economically illiterate people think bitcoin can succeed.
He's just trying to help why do you need to put him down??  Huh

Bring who down ? I'm just mocking people who say bitcoin is bubble, and that it's supporters have no "economic sense".

Sorry, sometimes my sarcasm is unclear.

wow thats some expensive bitcoin, 55 dollar card gets you 50$ in bitcoin? 10%? no thanks.

It's actually cheaper than I would have expected. I don't see why it's a terrible deal. It could be especially good for people who want to buy bitcoins anonymously.

I don't know how the fuck a politician could say something so rational, I'm floored.

lol, this moment of levity and hope will quickly be steam rolled by the midterms.

I'm expecting politicians to eventually launch huge measures against bitcoin, but still for him to say something like that it's just, wow.
