It's ironic that some of the most valuable or oversold projects have absolutely no technical merit or progress towards the stated goals prior to developing enormous hype and a cult following that vigorously defends the product. For Cardano, we've basically embraced anti-hype. We just stick to the magic and let the community do the rest.

You need to know that Cardano disappeared from public this spring after the ICO in Japan. I don't know anything about it after that, I know people lost tons of money.

I think it is a scam in it's second phase

This is an outright lie. Everyone who bought ada vouchers went through vending. The process was transparent and done in public adavoucher.com. All buyers information is here on CardanoHub.org.

Where do you think the ada being traded on bittrex came from? The people who bought it during the sale. The article you cited is slander. There is absolutely no factual basis.

Some newbie insights: Well, ok, for a coin with such a high market cap this coin has a whole lot of question marks floating around it.. not to mention the dubious articles on it's founder as you dig into it..

That said, even if it is dubious, question is if the coin is a good or bad investment as of this moment..

As a long term solid investment I wouldn't gamble it, but if you're on a hunch for a quick profit, who knows..

Standard tactic. Charles is a shady dude. He murders puppies and pollutes the rivers = Dubious project. Notice he didn't mention the whitepaper https://whycardano.com/ the research papers https://www.cardanohub.org/en/academic-papers/ the dedicated research centers http://www.businessinsider.com/iohk-sponsors-blockchain-research-lab-at-the-university-of-edinburgh-tokyo-tech-2017-2 the code with over 11,000 commits in haskell https://github.com/input-output-hk/cardano-sl the successful peer review https://www.forbes.com/sites/amycastor/2017/08/23/at-crypto-2017-blockchain-presentations-focus-on-proofs-not-concepts/#44f468ba7b70 the team https://iohk.io/team/#cardano or pretty much anything else that's positive.

It's basically project destruction by character assassination. This is why the mainstream can't get into crypto. It's a series of toxic clubs that try to destroy each other when they disagree.

Re: Why Cardano/ADA coin’s launch on Bittrex represents what I detest about cryptos

I really appreciate threads like these because they fairly express feelings without trying to be hostile. The reality is that Cardano has been an ongoing project since mid-2015 in one capacity or another and only recently did the initial participants have a chance to exercise liquidity. The price didn't suddenly go up exponentially due to a big pump rather it was a reflection that two years of progress have occurred from setting up research centers to developing the core client since the last price signal.

Finally there original market was scoped to Asia and now a much larger set of people are considering Cardano. It's reasonable to assume a dramatic shift and lots of volatility.

Re: Charles Hoskinson – co-founder and ex-CEO of Ethereum saw this fallout coming.

We said there would be an ICO fallout back in March that would occur during the end of summer. This Charles guy is slow to predict... The entire Altcoins market has been run up by these ICO scams but now they are illegal as predicted and goodbye market. HODL THE Bitcoin not the Altcoins.

To be fair, I've been critical of most ICOs since the DAO and have publicly stated so. After seeing the wave of stupid/greedy money chasing P&Ds, I decided to become much more public about it with the Bloomberg article. No one seems to answer a simple question, "if you get a 10x, then who is buying the asset from you to realize the gains and why are they buying it?" If the answer isn't because they can do something with the token, but rather because they believe it's going up, then you have a Ponzi scheme brewing.

Nothing grows to the sky and pure greed has replaced rational thought.

Re: New Satoshi Emails

Why haven't you shared your archive?  In your original post, you very clearly gave the intention that what you received you would then share with the bitcoin community.  Why suddenly keep that to yourself?  Those who shared with you intended for those e-mails to be published.  We would love to see what you have.  If you'd like, I will gladly help you go through the e-mails line by line and analyze them to determine if they seem safe enough to share (just like I did with Mike's e-mails).

There was some content that upon further reflection was somewhat personal and could potentially be used in an attempt to DOX Satoshi. Second, I realized that people would use the emails to justify whatever roadmap position they have. It was a bad idea to attempt to construct the archive.

Satoshi is gone and not coming back. We should respect his wishes and let him go. Bitcoin moved on.
