bullshit, they are different things, MLS can be sent online, can gold ?. another thing is gold price is quite stable, and everybody accept it, while the price of MLS went ups and downs, still some people don't know anything about it, even their existence.
they both consume some real resource to gain them, which you can't deny.
Acceptability will make a currency functional but money has to come from commodities. IMO, you're blurring the line between a currency and money. All currencies in history have failed, but gold has never failed, because people have a desire for it due to its functionality . gold has intrinsic value.
