You think that Europe is a safe harbour for drug buyers?
Quote
Pretty funny would be indeed to be arrested because of buying drugs on SilkRoad.
When you get busted, I m sure you will have fun.
I hope also that they can prove that It was me indeed the person who was buying drugs through SilkRoad. Plausible deniability.
Also, for the quantities I buy.. The police can just put me a fine.  Grin Sooo. Yes, I don't really care.
He says, surfing the clearnet and posting in a forum.

If you start talking about plausible deniability I sure hope you never logged into your account without tor/proxies, as you basically just admitted to buying drugs on the internet.

Hm, this thread is making me reconsider using my OZC 1250W I used for a 3x5970 1x5850 rig.

Damn, off to ebay with it and seasonic or corsair it is then.

Anyone got any ideas?

BitForce Single 'SC'  60 GH/s  -  $1,299
Don't need to pay electricity..

I would recommend the bASIC 54 GH/s for $ 1,069.00
I would recommend reading up on the whole topic and spend atleast a day in the mining forum before you decide on anything.

You are asking really broad questions here, in the end mining with ASIC's is very risky. Don't invest what you can't afford to lose.

So wait, did I miss this announcment somewhere?

Tom is selling a Seasoinc 1000W PSU on his page (https://www.bitcoinasic.net/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=54)

Quote
... the Seasonice Platinum Series is an irresistible option to power up to 10 bASIC mining units...

So now the only question is 10 54gh/s units or 10 27gh/s units.

Hopefully the answer is yet.  It would ridiculous if it was 60 per device...

As it was $30 for USPS flat rate shipping for multiple bASIC's before, I'd assume it's a flat rate upgrade for your order.

Both of the PSU's you've linked are pretty much garbage, especially the Apevia one. The Thermaltake would do the job, but that particular model has poor reviews.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139028

These are decent. Both run on a single 12v rail. The Silverstone even gives you enough PCI-E connectors(you need 3x 6-pin for those 2 cards) right out of the box, no need to convert molex.

If it were me and my money, I'd get the Corsair supply. It's cheaper than the Thermaltake unit(after rebate) and has better reviews. Not to mention Corsair>Thermaltake as a brand.

Listen to this man, don't skimp out on your psu!

We have 30 hours left to reach the goal of $750,000. If we do not then the project will NOT be funded at all. Even though it can't mine, it's only $99 and way more powerful than a normal PC. Please dig deep and support this project!

Tell me what I can do with it as an every day kinda guy with a bit more knowledge than average about computers and I'm happy to get one.

This would be the link for all german customers, read through it, inform yourself.

http://www.zoll.de/DE/Fachthemen/Steuern/Einfuhrumsatzsteuer/einfuhrumsatzsteuer_node.html;jsessionid=C59F02000C45E91DD69F078470D35294

will there be a chance to reduce those 19%? Or even get around it? I dont care if you guys think its the right thing to pay 19%, in my opinion its not, i dont see why i would pay my government 19% from something i bought with dollar, made in the USA.

So what possibilities are there? Put no bill inside and afterwards tell them you got it from ebay or what? Asking for a bill that states something cheaper?

Simply put, in the USA if you buy something you've got to pay sales tax.
In Germany/United Kingdom, if you buy something you've got to pay MWSt/VAT.
What I'm trying to say is, as an end-customer you've always got to pay tax.
If you own a company you can make use of pre tax deduction, and get the tax you payed, back, but as I mentioned before this is not as easy as it sounds.

You're getting hung up on different terms. Although sales tax is much lower then VAT/MwSt, it more or less is the same.

____

Also, following discussions about this topic should start in a new thread as this is a topic for everyone buying something from the US and enough information can be found on the web.

Tom's thread has been derailed enough for a day.

19% import tax .. makes me cringe a little

The 19% in Germany isn't really import tax, it's VAT.

Import tax, as it has been mentioned before, is probably 0% for European customers. (I'haven't had it checked yet, I'll post details as soon as I get concrete answers.)

You buy your bASIC in the US without tax as well, or am I missing something here: EX TAX: $1,069.99?

If you have a company and buy your ASIC's you can reclaim the VAT so it's a zero sum game, although you'd have to check out how and as what you declare potential profits with mining in your country and what the goverment will get from your profits.

That's something for your accountant and lawyer to figure out as this varies from country to country.

How high do you estimate the tax for the import to be Germany?
I expect a 19% import tax and customs charges around 4-18%.
Does anyone possibly like the ASIC miners are classified by Customs?

This has been posted before:
http://ec.europa.eu/taxation_customs/dds2/taric/measures.jsp?Lang=en&SimDate=20121022&Area=US&Taric=8542399000&LangDescr=en

You've got to check for yourself if it applys.

This forum is for discussion of hardware.  I think we've given Inaba way too much attention already.  Let's focus on the mining devices instead.

Trolling from Inaba aside.

Tom's transparency and track record with the MMQ made it an easy choice for me.

When BFL FPGA Singles hit the market I was considering to order a few but hesitated as my GPU's were making me quite a nice profit,
after hearing about the extremly long shipping time at the beginning I decided against it.

Now with ASIC's hitting the market it was an all-in or GTFO decision for me.

Suffice to say, bASIC's were the clear choice.

Better track record, active involvment of the community, supreme customer service and a friendly go-to guy.

I couldn't care less about power consumption up there, I personally expect Tom will ship before or atleast at the same time with BFL
and as someone mentioned, with ASIC's launching time is what counts.

just my 2 satoshis,

have a nice day, props to you Tom, even tough this thread gets derailed and trolled every so often, you're representing a business in a forum how it should be done.
