I doubt you would buy thousands and thousands of US dollars worth Won just like that. I mean, come on, I don't like him too but let's not make this some fantasy crime story, there is enough shit around it. He is obviously Australian.

It could of been shopped.

The point is that if he was going to do a runner then he wouldn't of warned everyone about it before hand by announcing the shutdown. At worst he's guilty of manipulating the price of fee-shares.

I bought 4 shares after they dropped. Now that the sites back on, well...

You don't need to restart when making the changes from the interface - only if you're changing the batch file etc.

To prove this, drop your gpu clock to something very low and watch what happens.

I only ever tweak my miners via the menus then, once i find the sweet spot, i lock it in with the batch file.

Doesn't answer your question as to why it drops though. Do you have --auto-gpu/fan/mem/temp set in the config?

auto-fan is on. auto-gpu is not. I set target-temp etc, but (according to the readme) this shouldn't effect the clock speed because auto-gpu is not on.

Re: Odd Issue with Radeon 7950 Mining
by

on 30/04/2013, 15:33:29 UTC
Well, I have a Gigabyte Radeon 7950 on a fresh W7 Ent 64bit install, 13.1 drivers, GUIMiner Scrypt. Seems normal, right? Well, here's the problem.

I can only mine on the 7950 Low Usage setting.

I can increase the intensity but IF I increase the thread concurrency, it will not connect. This occurs for both CGMiner and Reaper. But for reaper, increasing the intensity above 13 causes mostly stale shares.

I still get around 350 Khs, but I should be getting much more obviously. Anybody else ever experience this? I have no ideas what to do.

Essentially, if I do not mine on low usage, it will not connect which makes no sense.

Thank you in advance!

How much system RAM do you have? Any less than 4GB might your problem.

Thanks dude. That's probably it, although the example in the read me doesn't mention the need to restart.

Hashrate of 275 is with intensity:13. With I:20 i get ~550

I appreciate the help friend

1. Every time I change the mem-clock, the hashrate will go up slightly (about 15Kh/s), and then drop back down to where it was (275Kh/s). According to GPU-Z, the speed is staying where I set it, so why is the hashrate going back down???

It's complicated.

really? care to explain, or is your comment just a reflection of your inadequacies? Either your inadequacies in articulation, which prevent you from explaining, or is it you inadequacies in comprehension, which prevent you from understanding it yourself?

Great program, but a FAQ or README would be nice to help me setup  Tongue

No point writing one...nobody would ever read it.

lol Cheesy

Now how's about some help with my problem?

I'm using cgminer with one 7950, and lately I have been trying play with clock speeds. According to GPU-Z, the speed is staying where I set it, so why is the hashrate going back down???

I am making the changes from the GPU menu of cgminer while it is running.

OK, I've spent all day trying to optimize this thing. I've got a 7950 on a machine with 4GB of system RAM, and I HAVE read the manual.

I'm trying to figure out the best clock speeds as per the example in SCRYPT-README.

  • 1. Every time I change the mem-clock, the hashrate will go up slightly (about 15Kh/s), and then drop back down to where it was (275Kh/s). According to GPU-Z, the speed is staying where I set it, so why is the hashrate going back down???
  • 2. To try and fix the above problem, I stopped using --auto-gpu. Was this the right thing to do? It didn't work anyway.
  • 3. The README says to keep increasing the speed incrementally until the GPU crashes. I've gone as high as 1600 and no crash (no performance increase either). Looking at the mining comparison charts, I can see that not many people have gone above 1500. Should I keep pushing it? Is there anything to be gained?
  • 4. Without OC'ing, I was able to get ~550Kh/s. Should I just be happy with that?

Batch file is
Code:
cgminer.exe -o stratum+tcp://stratum.give-me-ltc.com:3333 -u user.1 -p xxxxx -I 13 --scrypt --auto-fan --gpu-fan 25-80 --temp-cutoff 90

I'm tired and confused, but if you want to abuse me for missing something obvious, then please feel free   SmileyTongue

Have you tried giving this a shot for the 7k series card?
Consolidated Litecoin Mining Guide for 5xxx, 6xxx, and 7xxx GPUs

I have. I don't think it says anything about the hashrate going up a little, and then dropping back down 5 seconds after overclocking.

I know this is far along in this thread, but maybe someone can help. I've read the readme yet it doesn't really state.

What does "rejected" imply? I am solo mining using CGminer. 3x 7950 running at around 500k/hash each. I've had it on perhaps 72 hours, so far I have had 4 rejected 0 accepted.

Rejected means that the work your miner did was redundant by the time it was submitted (i think).

Joining a pool should solve this problem.

They were already offering support for all the other coins, ... I think fontas just took advantage of it.

BTC-e offering support for all other coins? Before Friday night it was only BTC, LTC, NMC & NVC. Fontas started his campaign earlier that week. Did he know that btc-e was going to start supporting TRC that week? If so, how? I didn't think they did any pre-announcements.
To me, it looks like fontas is a btc-e insider.

It's settling to a more reasonable rate for a new coin.

Or is underpriced?

It's settling alright, back to where it was before the hype.

Is this the new Kaiser Sozse?

Lol

Quote
Fontas has no influence whatsoever.

The number of people who were eating right out of his hand says otherwise. Also the 10 fold price increase can't be explained any other way.

*hurl* and lol

Shocked So it doesn't seem like anybody thinks the events of last week smell fishy? Three big coincidences...c'mon!

If anybody's been following TRC then they would of noticed that it's gone up by about a factor of 10 this week! This increase is most likely, largely due to a very well executed hype campaign by a character named Fontas. I have to give it to him (or the team behind 'him'), he is a genius! Must of made at least 10's of thousands of $, probably more.

My question is does anyone else think that the timing of TRC support on btc-e is a little suspicious?

There was also the amazingly coincidental timing of the Vircurex downtime.

Any thoughts? Maybe I'm just paranoid or ignorant Huh

Hey
I know this has been talked about before, but nothing I found was very recent. Another reason to talk about it again is that BTC-E seems to be having an issue with their reserve supply.
I think I read something about AurumXchange being useable for btc-e deposits. I can't seem to get it to work though.

How do you do it?

Hi
I've been lurking this site for a few months and have been able to find everything I've needed so far.
I have several bitcoins, and small amounts of TRC, LTC, NMC, SC, DVC, PPC and IXC. I have also experimented with CPU mining litecoins. I am studying for a Bachelor of Computer Science majoring in computation.
I decided to register now because i noticed that someone is giving away free terracoins to anyone who posts their wallet address. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=142044.0 Hopefully you'll allow me to post to this thread so that I can save my enthusiasm for more posts for when I have something worth contributing.

Thanks

Edit: since posting I have found another reason for needing to be set free from this waiting room. I would like to bid on this.
