I agree, by using a paid domain will increase the visitor's trust in the website
Paid or free domain doesn't matter! it's all about your hosting plan and website up-time
It does actually matter. The free domains are free, so scammers like to use them and often times the site contains harmful programs. Its all about trust, and investing in a paid domain will make users trust your site more, especially because that's the first thing they ever see of your site.
Edit: You should really consider removing the text shadows, they take away from your site's look more than add
