Re: bitcoin fees have quadrupled, and this is just the beginning
by

Maybe fees are replacing the halving of bitcoin mining. I mean, the volume of bitcoin and also the hashrate increased significantly.

The increased demand, though, has pushed Bitcoin up against its block size limit.

I mean you can just set the fees lower but your transaction will be marked as low priority and held up, that means a longer confirmation time and who wants that? Actually it is quite good for the bitcoin for having more people adopting it, but with the price of higher fees with halving every 4 years or so.

Re: How to make 17 BTC out of 7 BTC ?
by
chiajw1
on 22/07/2016, 11:34:09 UTC
THis is quite impossible feat now, but if you go back to before 2010, you can simply get 17 bitcoin by mining with your own computer rig and just get the mining rewards. The only way is by gambling, either gambling site or some altcoin. Both which are too risky and too hard to double your money. For long term maybe you can start a service that accept bitcoin, just like other business a rough start but if you determined enough you willl earn much more than that.

Re: Mining in 20 years time
by
chiajw1
on 18/07/2016, 16:05:46 UTC
It is seriously hard to predict what will happen in 20 years later. Taking account of the tremendous variables, inflation, main currency at that time, how much transaction for every block, fees for every transaction, electricity cost, speed of hashes, competitors, to name a few, Anything is possible for this time span.

But in my opinion there will be much more transaction in every block and every block mined will get more transaction fees. The transaction fee will be much higher than the new bitcoin mined. Say that 1 bitcoin is equilvalent to 2500 USD not taking account of inflation, maybe some will still continue to mine, not for profitability but to contribute to the system.

Definitely there are few services that accepts bitcoin to pay bill, but only some countries that accepts bitcoin and is quite popular in the country. For some, like N.Korea, the ban bitcoin usage thus it is practically impossible to pay. Banks are now exploring the potential and benefits of blockchain. Although some major corporates started accepting bitcoin but some internet users still don't know bitcoin.

Re: It's Halving Day! What Can You Say?

Halving is definitely a big event in bitcoin history. The reduction of new bitcoins generated when a block is mined, the decreasing in bitcoin supply. If you are miners then you should worry about the decreasing bitcoin reward for each block, the profitability, and much more. For most of us not miners, we just worry three things, the price of bitcoin, the speed of comfirming a transaction(Hashrate) and the new supply of bitcoins in circulation. The bitcoin price is still volatile amidst the halving and maybe could rise sharply or decrease. No one knows what will happen but there is not much of changing at the 2012 halving, maybe rise? Maybe stagnant? Maybe decrease?
For the speed of transaction, the halving may cause some small mining companies the lose their revenue and shut down their hashrate. Currently 1.5 exahashes of hashrate, it will certainly decrease with the event of halving and the other miners struggle to survive the decrement of new supply of bitcoin. In the other hand most of us will trade much and it may lead to overflowing of bitcoin transaction and confirming time  increases should they shut down their mining rigs.
The time for bitcoin halving is 2 hours away as we speak so good luck and hope the bitcoin price increases for the best for us users and miners....

Actually I just knew bitcoin right after the spike and the price at that time is roughly 200 USD. But I did not collect any at that time. It is quite sad when you saw an opportunity but you just let it slip pass away. Now I am gathering as many bitcoin as I can and wait for the next spike

Re: Will you allow the Government to look into your bitcoin wallets?
by
chiajw1
on 01/07/2016, 09:47:08 UTC
Please remember the the ledger is public and everyone could see the transactions in the ledger, even the government. This is so obvious that every transaction is transparent that even a 8 year old boy can see it. However if they want to look the private key for my wallet or identify a person through address, that is a no go. The concept of bitcoin is decenntralized, means no one can control or freeze any bitcoin wallet, and no one should.

its very easy to identify if the site is phishing, See the full domain name , like that  (http://bliockcheiin.info/lndex.html) It should be blockchain.info not bliockcheiin.info

It is very easy to look but often we overlook or did not even check the websites.

Re: The war in Bitcoin community
by

on 14/05/2016, 04:57:41 UTC
There is no conspiracy theory.... the fact is, a lot of people do not want Bitcoin to succeed... that includes Alt coin and private Blockchain based technology companies and also bigger remittance

services. Bitcoin, IF successful, will disrupt a lot of these services and they will lose a lot of profits. These people WILL undermine Bitcoin and try to divide the community or spread FUD all over

forums like this or Reddit. We need to take notice of what is happening and fight fire with fire... If they spread FUD, we counter it with FACTS.. If they try to divide us, we STAND together.. This way

we will succeed.  Wink

I think you are right. A lot of people actually don't want to change their minds and adopt bitcoin because of fear. There are also few individuals who are trying to make a drama and mess up the bitcoin community before it succeed in becoming the world currency. It is up to us to spread the word, fight the freedom of bitcoin and stand together to sustain bitcoin. United we stand. Grin Grin
