Such negativity, let's review what I said,

Let's start with a target in 500th. Not 5ph, obviously growth changes upgrades and perhaps multiple sites would get to us to the larger goal.  The datacebter facility power and client base is already there, running, I own it, I built it in 2004, I've been providing colocation since 1995.  I am a Cisco engineer.

Next I didn't ask anyone to send equipment I asked for a discussion on a group to mine together.  Maybe someone w a 2 cent per kWh rate on Wa. can go hunt down a building for us.
Lease.

Next I have the experience already to build the datacebter, install the power, ventellation, and network.  I've done it all many times over.

Lastly I've been mining bitcoin very successfully for about a year, everything is running great at 70th, there is definitely a learning curve so if you don't already mine over 10 or 20 th you probably won't understand do feel free not to chime in unless you have this much needed experience.

But Thanks though for all the great input!

NAMG - North American Miner Group - New Concept, NEED INPUT from YOU!

Greetings, I currently I run a small farm of 70Th, I was thinking about an idea of a consortium, or group, or club with members, that Combine their equipment in one managed facility, the electric bill is paid without markup by the members, the members all pay a monthly mandatory donation to the club of 20% of what their miners made that month or flat membership dues.  This btc or dues goe into an operating budget for the club.  The club has a board that makes decisions.  Cost of the club are covered by the members..   I have lots of idea's, but lets hear yours, and yes I would be willing to build and or manage the facility, and yes I already have a facility I own and operate but with this club Idea i'm thinking a new facility, I can build it no problem as Ive built 3 datacenters before.  Each members would be an owner who could sell their share to someone else later if they choose, and we have max membership of 100 members. Who own minimum hashing power of 10TH

Lets have an open discussion with lots of input from miners and what everyone thinks of this idea?

Some specs, in chicago .06 cents per kwh, warehouse rent at about $6-8 sq ft.  power would be at least 800 amp 480v 3/phase $.06 per kwh, and maybe less on volume.  Off the top of my head without doin the math, I'd aim for about 500Th - 5 Ph facility.

What would you be willing to do, or specs you's like to see.

ok, go..

I'm sure there is a certain percentage of people willing to partner with you on their bitcoin mining, which is what your asking essentially, and then there are people looking for colocation of their mining gear, but I think those are two different things, and not one in the same.

Depends on your objective, if its to run two 1 Th miners and loose money every month and just collect a half a bitcoin a month to save for a rainy day, its a great idea, however if you want to actually do more than that it is not.

Heat.. Summer will overheat, winter will be fine in the north
2 TH of mining power max on a 20 amp circuit if its dedicated to you, which its not, so it will pop the circuit when your neighbor uses his power drill on the same circuit as you...

Gross profit, $120 bucks   (per 20 amp dedicated power circuit) /mo.
Expenses, Internet power rent  $50+$250+$75
Monthly losses .;;; you get the idea, i don't really have to add it up for you do I? lol

so now you have all the info you need before going into the Self Storage Mining Businesses =)

One thing I noticed, much better to throw the hot air 10 feet away than into a wall 2 feet away. (Also notice the box fans only to blow air over the ps, without airflow they get hot)

And derate your conduit!  I used 10awg wire for the 20amp circuits instead of 12awg, which derates to code.  42 x 20amp,
 120v, dedicated 3 phase208 sub, networked neutral.

Hello, I am spinning up my sp20's and im running into a problem with the Username to the pool.. I use slushs pool, and I have knc miners working fine using my user.worker username, but the sp20's must be reporting something different cause for the sp20s the pool is dropping all the sp20's into there user.[auto] worker..

I double and triple checked the worker names on both pool and user.worker name on the spondoolies no spaces ect..

Please help.

Don't cheap up on the racks, you don't want your farm to up in flames because you used wood.

Btw, do I see an Owl on one of those wooden pillars?

Thats the power company mounting those Transformers, standard power line poles is what they use many times as seen here..  Thats just the way they build, cant do anything about it, but there is nothing wrong with it, non conductive, treated wood.. (and the Plastic Owl is to keep the birds away.. )

I think $.10 is pretty standard pricing for miner colocation these days....

http://coin-mining.mystarpoint.com

Our pricing has been like this since the beginning, datacenter has been here in Chicago since 2004,
but you buy power for half the price!  Wish we had that pricing!  $.06 per Kwh here.

?Gonna be exciting to see your launch!  You get those Transformers humming yet?

Update:

Could never get the fan settings to change (SSH didn't work either) but I think I found a better solution by just changing the fan.

First I tried a 1W Noctua fan but it was struggling to keep it cool. The miner had to throttle the hashrate even below 900 GH/s.

Then I tried an old Cooler Master fan I had lying around and found it works perfectly.

Here are my testing results:

http://i.imgur.com/NJfZm89.png

As you can see, at ~5 meters away from the miner, you can just barely hear it. Now it sounds like your average desktop PC instead of your average leaf blower.

It's been running stable for 24 hours now at ~1105 GH/s.

(sorry for shit quality. Not a photographer)
My previous post was deleted for some reason by a moderator.
It's great to see you were able to tweak and get the db level down.
It's still funny (but unintended!) that you got a miner with bad fan control.

Guy

I noticed you said the unit is running at 1100 GH, is this normal? Can I exoect to be stable at the advertised 1700GH?  I am consideredering placing a large order of 45 units or 3 farms, so please advise.

Also the website promises delivery 2 business days after payment, is this something that will be sure to happen as well?  Thanks in advance!

Since we all know KNC Neptunes melt down, catch on fire, and try to kill you in your sleep...

... I needed a fused power supply solution with tons of power.. Had to build it.. What do you think?

Specs: 2400 Watts (more like 900 watts continuous or 150amps) single unit, Fan to cool it cause it does get hot, 5 Bay Auto type fuse bay, 25amp or 30amp fuses dont know yet)

Used HP Server Power Supplies off ebay, 20 bucks ea...

Thoughts?

50Kva at 120v is 416amps..

so you have two hot legs.. your running 200amps so 100 on each leg as long as they are distributed evenly leaves you 3/4 load left over.(too the transformer). but if your sharing it with other houses thats not much.

The real question is what is your main breaker, and go buy a clamping amp meter, even your load over your two single phase legs and stay under 80% of your main breaker and you'll be fine.

Let me know if you need more info.

Thanks

Here is an idea for you, in this video check out how our data center Cold Isle setup is done at economic cost..  We use standard clear acoustic ceiling tiles to contain the cold air from the raised floor and distribute hot air up high to be drawn in by two liebert downdraft 30 Ton AC Units.

http://www.mystarpoint.com/datacenter/

What do you think?
