His first thought is it’s unfortunate that the exchange got hacked. I mean, it’s not unexpected. But I think this is just the nature of the game. Freedom of money means that you have full control over your money, and if you give control away to an exchange, then they have the control over the money and they can easily lose it.

This probably won’t be the last time we hear about an exchange getting hacked. But this is definitely one of the largest hacks that I remember in terms of percentage of the coins out there.

Re: Why does the government hate bitcoin?

It is the first decentralized peer-to-peer payment network that is powered by its users with no central authority or middlemen.  If you use bitcoin, you are trusting your money to a complex system you don’t understand, people you know nothing about, and an environment where you have no legal recourse. In the traditional world of investing, this would raise enough red flags to make it a bad idea. On the other hand, the European Central Bank reports that Bitcoin is just one of over 500 digital currencies now in circulation around the world. Even it Bitcoin ultimately fails or is relegated a minor role on the world stage, one of its successors could radically alter the way the world thinks of currency.

People love predicting what the future has in store for them. They predict sports scores, the way their interactions with other people will go, the weather etc. One thing we have recently started predicting the future of are cryptocurrencies.

As of the moment, Bitcoin is down 70% with alts being down on average more than 80%. Most people are wondering if and when will this negative trend be broken. For now, it’s hard to say when, but we are almost certain that it will happen; There is a lot of room to go either up or down.

Re: Do people have to pay taxes on Bitcoin?
by

on 25/10/2018, 05:02:12 UTC
Yes, people should pay taxes on bitcoin since if someone buys and sells a bitcoin token and it appreciates or depreciates in value between buying and selling, the gain is taxable and the loss should be afforded tax relief.

Re: Which is more risky? Bitcoin or bank investment?

“People are desperate for anything that can bring them instant wealth, but [cryptocurrencies] are very risky investments because the technology is new and unproven. You shouldn’t invest in stuff you don’t understand, and you shouldn’t be investing money that you can’t afford to lose. If you've been even slightly tempted to invest in digital currencies such as bitcoin, Ripple, or Etherium, you might want to listen to Warren Buffett. In a recent interview on CNBC, the investing guru said he feels almost certain that putting money in this market "will come to a bad ending."

Many people think that bitcoin is about to die but this is just the beginning of market getting mature, This is a great time to buy. Watch the market is going to go down so low that everyone will see the time to buy and it will rise up up and away. What bitcoin is capable of is truly an innovation that will change the world, it is here to stay. It will rebound to 30–50k by the years end.

Re: Cause of volatility of bitcoin ?
by

Price fluctuations in the Bitcoin spot rate on the Bitcoin exchanges is driven by many factors.  Volatility is measured in traditional markets by the Volatility Index, also known as the CBOE Volatility Index (VIX).  Volatility in Bitcoin does not yet have a generally accepted index since cryptocurrency as an asset class is still in its nascent stages, but we do know that Bitcoin is capable of volatility in the form of 10x changes in price versus the U.S. dollar, in a relatively short period of time.

Re: The three main concerns I have about bitcoin
by
chichibano
on 20/05/2018, 10:33:27 UTC
The three main concerns i have about bitcoin are the following:

1. Extreme volatility
Investing in cryptocurrencies involves very high risk, as prices have been extremely volatile. Many experts are sceptical about bitcoin as an investment primarily because there is nothing for them to analyse.

2. Neither commodity, nor currency
The lack of clarity about its origin is another big issue related to bitcoin. In olden days, highly priced metals like gold, silver, etc. were used as currencies.

3. Don’t invest if you don’t understand
Some global bankers and experts have warned investors against investing in cryptocurrencies, because they are of the opinion that it is nothing but a bubble that is just about ready to burst.

Therefore, Investors haven’t seen such high returns from other investments within such a short span of time. So many of them are tempted to try it out, hoping to make quick investment returns

Re: how do you think of bitcoin in future?

Today, essentially every digital transaction and every international transaction involves a use of one form or another of virtual currency or credit. The exchange values matter, both to people who mine or invest in Bitcoins and to users who want to use them for everyday goods and services, which are usually denominated in local currency.

"The key to the legitimacy of the system for all of these parties is to establish that people using the system are acting legally and responsibly." Hence, Money's use carries associations of value, which in turn helps establish whether a currency, a payment form, and a social model for transactions are legitimate. "It's hard to bring any of them on board if the money is associated with behaviors consumers are troubled by,".

We can’t connect our bitcoin money with the bank accounts, instead if the money is exchange into a fiat money it is really possible to connect it to the banks.
