Likelihood of developers stopping increases proportionally with all this annoying fund talk.

Other than that: I do not want to play any role in anything that goes beyond coding, but from what I read occasionally I would really suggest to improve the quality of the communication which goes outside of the project. If I didn't know better, I think I would get a pretty bad image of Elastic quickly.

I've been lurking, and still following the progress of XEL closely week to week.  Unfortunately I can't say that I've been particularly happy to see where it has been headed, personally.  IMO the decision to partially re-centralize with bonded master-nodes and the decision to launch a "lite wallet" token are both likely mis-steps.

Having 0 stake in XEL it is obviously not my business, but I had held high hopes... and now I have little but worry for E-K's work ever making it out into the world in a form that is anything like what he would have really intended.

I've been thinking a lot, lately, about a the idea of a relatively simple variant of the earlier XEL design which might address several of the concerns with the model, particularly with regard to the PoW rewards.  It would eschew a dedicated programming language, in favor of a machine model, but at the same time make for a more consistent work calculation and allow for some additional assurances.  It may not be something I ever pursue further but I am ever more convinced (though still not quite 100%) that the whole thing might even actually be possible after all.

Just wanted to tell you two things:

1. I love you all! You are such a wonderful community, other projects cannot reach that in 1000 years!
2. I have successfully managed to run some real life problems on the elastic network ... I will upload my Python based ElasticSDK tomorrow, so you can see how you can embed elastic into your own programs and use its power without even touching the UI.
3. I am sure that we have to start writing a documentation, if we want people to create even better examples than I did   This means: new paper, full Elastic-work specification, programming tutorials, API documentation, and so on.

Maybe I will do a Vlog, a neutral and objective comparison of all (other) current supercomputers. Will have to think about some use cases though   All I can currently think of is rendering a 3D Baboon. But maybe I am just so uncreative.

I guess we / the communiy should plan something like this for the second step. Luckily, with the "exchangeable Languages" and the new soft fork feature we / the community is free to add any features it likes afterwards.

However, all these new super computers (if I understand correctly) are just offering virtual machines for rent .. this is nothing special. So if we add new features, we have to think carefully about it ... we don't want to just "rent VMs"  

The whitepaper is shit and incorrect. We should write a good one!
