Re: PhoenixMiner 6.2c: fastest Ethereum/Ethash miner with lowest devfee (Win/Linux)

The new beta version is ready. It is mostly a bugfix release, the more significant upgrades are coming next month. You can download PhoenixMiner 6.3b from here:

PhoenixMiner_6.3b_Windows.zip
PhoenixMiner_6.3b_Linux.tar.gz

The new features in this release are:

  • Full LHR disable mode -lhrdis <n>  1 - yes (default), 0 - no

  • RTX 3060 LHR       ~ 50 MH/s
  • RTX 3060 Ti LHR       ~ 60 MH/s
  • RTX 3070 LHR       ~ 60 MH/s
  • RTX 3070 Ti LHR       ~ 81 MH/s
  • RTX 3080 10GB LHR   ~ 98 MH/s
  • RTX 3080 Ti LHR       ~ 120 MH/s

  • Dual mining TON

  • Fixed an issue with expired SSL certificate that led to "certificate verify failed" errors when connecting to some pools (notably Ethermine) when using SSL connections
  • Show the GPU vendor name in the list of GPUs to make it easier to identify the GPUs
  • Added support for the latest AMD Linux drivers 21.40.1. There are some bugs in these drivers, particularly the clocks and voltages can't be set properly with older
    cards (RX4x0/RX5x0/Vega/RadeonVII)
  • Validated support for the latest AMD Windows drivers up to 21.11.2
  • Fixed issues with AMD RX6700XT cards with the latest AMD and Linux drivers
  • Fixed issues with AMD Vega and Radeon VII cards on latest Windows and Linux drivers
  • Fixed crash with very old Nvidia drivers (3xx.x)
  • Other fixes and small improvements

Known issues (driver incompatibilities, etc.) and workarounds:

If you are using Linux drivers 21.40.1 with Radeon VII cards, you need to add the option -fpwm 1 in order to have proper fan control.
AMD Linux drivers 21.40.1 has finally removed the requirement of PCIe atomics but there are problems when you try to mix Polaris (RX4x0/5x0) cards and Vega or newer cards on the same rig.
Some Nvidia cards will report a lot of stale shares under Windows 11. Using the same driver version under Windows 10 resolves the issue.

Does phoenix miner have something like "hashrate watchdog"?

I want to execute reboot.bat when hashrate of any GPU falls below 20MH/s

Thanks

Looks like you have voltage control locked. Have you unlocked it on MSI Afterburner settings?
Yes. I also try both 4 methods of voltage unlock option (ref design, standard MSI, extend MSI, third party).

I just bought a 3080 Gaming X

I use MSI Afterburner to control core/mem/volt, but seem like this app can not handle this card well:

- Can't monitor voltage: always display 0mv
- If I add >150 to mem, the core immediately drop to 930mhz

I use lastest driver (457.30). What should I do? I want to fix core/mem/volt at 1350/10000/725mv

Now running stable at 1350/9250/725mv @ 87.4MH

I have 2 Colorful igame 1660 Supers.

ETHash

Stock - 20 MH/S

+999 Mem - ~24.7 MH/S

-502 Mem - ~31.7 MH/S

Dropping the Mem to lowest is giving highest hashrates.
very funny. and they are hynix?

In my opition, mining is very safe. In the worst scenario, you lose up to 30% of your invest money (by selling your GPU, CPU, Mobo, PSU at 70% brand new price). Ofcourse you need to sell mined coin for electric bill, you can hold some, but remember not to hold all.

So it's acceptable.

What about samsung memory? Should I buy hynix, micron or samsung now? 1660S looks nice to me, since 3080 very hard to buy.

They use GD6, which is only half bandwidth compare to GD6X on 3080 3090. Maybe "Infinity cache" could helps in games, but not very useful for memory hunger application like mining ETH.

Re: Gigabyte RTX 3080 Eagle Hashrate drop

So this table fan set up is working stable. For a few hours during the day when temps are high outside the pcap changes to pcap temp and during late evening or so it reverts to pcap power.

The good this is the hashrate drops only ~2 MH/s now as compared to 20+ previously.

I am planning on ordering this Graphics Card Cooler, ~2000 RPM which should be hopefully good enough.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07XCFB5WP/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?smid=A235LT0EDLFSAR&psc=1
I think you should sell that card and buy another one. TUF, Strix, Trio, EVGA... should be fine

There are other forum with people informing that hashrate goes down... in TUF and MSI too the problem is that we cannot see the memory temp... Igorslab hat a Nvidia Program to see it... but we are not lucky to have it.

You can see you have a memory temp problem if you leave the fans in auto and the fans goes up and up when GPU stills cool.

In windows if you use GPUZ you should put programs that make the Memory Control Load high... 90-100% miners are perfect. if you don't want to make the thermal mod and you have this problem, there are other solution direct cool to the card or reduce memory Mhz for example-1000Mhz. With that reduce you can also limit the power limit to 180W and you will get a fix 77Mhs... and fans want be at 100%.

We also don't know if the spin fan to 100% on memory control is done in all brands. In gigabyte we know that his BIOS check the memory temps, which is great... what is not great are the quality thermal pads.

If some opened it, he will also see that backplate come with the exact place to put thermal pads of 3mm. So they have that prepared to do it to help to reduce temp but they didn't put them...
For example I have made a stress test in a room of 35C... having 100Mhs+ fans in auto ... the hash rate was completely stable and fans where in auto at 72% and GPU Temp 63C... the memory I don't know but surely not near the 104C Trolling Memory Temp

Thank you for your info. Can you share the link that other forums discussing about 3080 hashrate drop? I want to read more about this issue.

Memory is trottling, it is very hot on 3080, 100+ degres.
can you post memory temperature of 3080 when mining ETH? As far as i know, GPU-Z and other popular monitor tool can not read memory temperature of 3080.

Igorlab post a pic showing 104oC under load, but not mining. The name of the software also hidden.

Complete true... new FE comes with the thermal pad... If you don't do that mod of thermal you will destroy the memory... So what is better... guarantee or destroy card...
Ok maybe the problem of FE version, but what about AIB like MSI trio, Asus TUF, giga aorus...?
