Re: [ANN] Bminer: a fast Equihash miner for CUDA GPUs (5.2.0)

Hi,

Hoping someone can help me. I am running the ASUS mining board with 12 GPU's currently, will soon add #13. I cannot get Bminer to start properly, it starts but never starts hashing and then basically stops saying something like "GPU0 hang detected...." and then restarts. Ive put a screenshot below (the 1st one). EWBF seems to work fine but I prefer Bminer......

Any ideas?

Re: Dual 8 pin card from breakout board?

No use 2x connector from the breakout board if you have 2x connector on the GPU it's better this way for power load-balancing, especially if you are going to run them @ high TDP.

Im planning on running 2 cables to each card. I didn't understand your response. I guess Im asking if it's an issue to power a dual 8pin 1080TI card with two direct cables from 2 ports on the breakout board?

Dual 8 pin card from breakout board?
by

on 13/01/2018, 17:22:25 UTC
Quick question. Is it possible to power a dual 8pin 1080TI from a breakout board? Will running 2x6pin to 6+2 pin cables to the card be sufficient???

Also, If Im using a server PSU along with a an ATX power supply do I need that dual PSU connector cable? Or do I simply start the ATX PSU and then start the server PSU?

I know that the risers for the respective cards need to be powered off the same PSU as the cards.

Could someone please let me know if this will work and what I need to do?

One 1080TI underperforming
by

So I have 3 Gigabyte cards and 1 EVGA. The Gigabytes generally perform very good, ~70MH/sec in Lyra2rev2. However I have one that is ~10-15MH/sec behind the other two. I even tried swapping risers with the idea that maybe the riser was causing the slow down. Anyway, Im lucky to hit 60MH/sec on this card. Is there anything I can do? Same exact settings among all the Gigabyte cards and the other 2 have great performance. Any tips on how I can address this?

Just in case anyone else stumbles along this thread. I did fix my problem. So, I had did the 4g enabled before along with the adjusting the generation of the PCI-E slots etc. The issue is that with 4G enabled the on board video does not work which I did not see mentioned anywhere and the only video cards output video. I simply had the board connected because my cable did not reach to the cards in my setup but when I tried it like that it worked and I now have all 4 successfully recognized by the system.

Thanks for everyone's help!

So, I got my new Z270-P motherboard in today and I have 4 1080TI's. I went through the bios settings like I have seen in videos but I still get an error when trying to boot with more than 2 GPU's. Im assuming I missed some sort of bios setting. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Error pic is below. Removing the third and going back to just 2 works fine.

Re: [Awesome Miner]- Powerful Windows GUI to manage and monitor up to 5000 miners

Im  really hoping someone can answer a couple questions I have.

Ive been using MPH for a little while now and I got it successfully working mining a single coin with Awesome Miner but I cannot for the life of me get the auto profit switching to work. I get a stratum login error and Im not sure why. I even reviewed the diagnostics which shows the text from the command window and it all looks correct.

I also know that MPH has their own auto switching capability, does anyone want to clarify how this works? For example, I can select algos I want to run under the hub workers menu, and it gives the auto switching port as 12XXX but no exact port unless it's any port? Also, no server is specified but it seems that all their servers on their list are by algo so I have no idea what server to try and connect to.

So, what am I missing, can anyone help me get the profit switching automatically working properly with Awesome Miner?

Not that you would not get an answer here but Awesome Miner has its own thread and you might get a quicker/better answer there https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=676942.0

Thanks, will post there also.

Re: 1080Ti Specific - Best mining option

can someone post their precise stats for 1080 ti, like how many 1080ti's are you running, your hashrate / card, exactly which coin are you mining, and what is your monthly expected gain at current market price, so we can make an objective calculation on profitability.

Hope it helps. Those results are from 2 cheap ZOTACs (Blower and Mini), PL120%, GPU +150, Memory +700.

http://linkme.ufanet.ru/images/269212308653e8f610ea00bad5b2d3da.png

For how long you`ve been running it? I have zotac mini and from my experience it would melt in 15 minutes with power level this high.

Didn't put it to 120% power, only went up to 110%, Im running an EVGA SC Black and a Gigabyte 1080TI. On a side note, Im currently running th elyra2rev2 miner that comes with nemosminer package for mining pool hub. It's giving me ~135MH/sec on my normal conservative settings which is a good 10MH/sec more than I had before. Very surprised.

So, I definitely managed to push 70MH/sec from each of my cards.

The power draw went up significantly though but it's possible.

Thanks to all that contributed. I tried palgin briefly but it looks like I still get better results from CCminer 2.2 tpruvot it seems, Im getting a combined ~126MH/sec on 2x1080TI.

Both my cards are at 85% power, +50 clock, +500 mem. Whats everyone's thoughts on this performance with those settings? Any advice?

I can get my 2 1080TI´s to do about 72MH/s each, but no matter what I do they never go as high as 80MH/s.

Could someone please us the OC settings or tell us how to get those 80MH/s?

Thanks!

Can you post your card settings and also what mining software you're using to achieve these speeds?

I plan to mine vertcoin with my 6xgtx 1080ti Asus strix. Could you please tell me what is better mining software alexis ccminer or that Nanashi-Meiyo-Meijin v2.2 miner?
What are your settings for lyra2v2 with highest hashrates?
What is the best pool to use?
Thanks in advance
I use ccminer 1.8.3. This is the version from OneClickMiner. Gives me the best performance.
~68MH/s per 1080TI (Zotac AMP something)

running with default settings.

I use "private" p2pool. Public p2pool give me to many payouts.
If you want to join, drop me a PM Wink

Yep, thats ok, I hope someone treats him the same way when he's trying to figure something out.

That's pretty bad, most of us were getting 72MH at 80% TDP and 78 at 100% TDP.
I really don`t think you get 72mh

So are you gonna share details with us ?
No I won't. I don't like to help "givemethebat" people. I don't like to help people saing "give us screenshot or you are liar and it never happened".
I gave the screen. If a person is smart enough he will do his own research and find the solution. If not - he can mine at 60Mh and be happy.

pathetic loser... I blame your parents.

Can anyone clear up the posts recently, instead of looking back through 200+ pages (I did go back several) can someone come out and say what the settings are and the exact miner used to get ~70MH/sec on a 1080ti?

i'm at 65MH/S with alexis cc miner

Hi Thanks, Im currently at 63/65 respectively on my 2 1080TI's. Can you share settings on your card(s)?

I saw several posts which made it seem like 70+MH/sec is perfectly achievable, can anyone comment on the settings and miner used to achieve this?

Am I right in assuming that the only reason this doesn't work with MPH for example is due to the dev fee? I.e. it's only setup for the pools which the dev has a setup to receive their dev fee to??

Also, any easy way to turn off the LED's on both these cards?

What OS are you using? For Windows, you should be able to find some settings under the Nvidia GeForce Experience settings. For most Linux distributions, there should be an LED setting that you can change with the nvidia-settings command line tool.

Im under Windows. The lights are more annoying than anything but Im really curious about optimal settings.

Help with my 2x1080TI setup
by
choff5507
on 16/12/2017, 18:44:15 UTC
So, I am currently running 2 cards until I can get mining rig setup this next week. I currently am running a EVGA SC black and a Gigabyte OC Gaming 1080TI. I only added the Gigabyte card today and for the last week have only been running the EVGA card.

Anyway, when I was only running the EVGA card I was getting ~68MH/sec. Can anyone tell me what would be good power/GPU/mem clock offsets would be for both of these cards so I can optimal results.

I should mention I am running only Lyra2rev2 right now.

Currently I have the following settings/temps:

EVGA=90% power, +50GPU, +0 mem temp is a solid 81C (Seems since adding the other Gigabyte card it's drove it up a solid 10C) 63MH/sec

Gigabyte=95% power, +70GPU, +0 mem temp is a solid 71C   65MH/sec

In total Im getting 128MH/sec

Im wondering what the optimal settings would be. Also seems that the extra fan/larger heatsink on the Gigabyte is making a good difference on temps.

Also, any easy way to turn off the LED's on both these cards?

Newbie Bitcoin / Altcoin questions
by
choff5507
on 04/12/2017, 17:25:36 UTC
So,

Im interested in mining some crypto currencies, I currently own some bitcoin like most people on here Im sure.

Anyway, I thought about just running nicehash to mine whatever was best and then convert to BTC automatically but according to whattomine.com there are usually other currencies which are better to mine
than nicehash with my hardware.

So....keeping in mind that my primary goal is to have BTC and hold long term, can anyone assist me with these questions???....

1. If I mine some of these altcoins, for example when I originally checked GRS seemed to be the one to mine according to the site, is there an easy way to convert to BTC at some site? What sites allow you to exchange one cryptocurrency for another??

2. Today for Example, it seems that there are totally different altcoins recommended to mine currently. So I would like to mine something long term and convert to BTC along the way, something that makes sense to mine but it seems kind of pointless to mine something different everyday, like it would not be efficient and wouldn't really accumulate anything of value. Am I missing something ?

Could anyone provide me any insight into this area and how to come up with my own gameplan?

TIA
