Re: HODL...until when?
by
citywise2
on 27/08/2021, 08:30:31 UTC
It's your BTC you HODL as long as you want. I'm hodling since 2013 and never cashed out a satoshi. How long will I hodl? I don't know, will probably cash out 10-15% at a given time to enjoy the fruits of my labor, but I will never cash out all my BTC. I plan to leave some to my kids also.
Nice feat, but I guess you forgot to add your HODLing has nothing to do with your regular income. So if you're into HODLing as a means for raising income, your approach will definitely shift. All said, it's your sweat and sweet, do with it as it seems best for you, because it's meant to be used someday. As for me, I sell when I see a need.

Re: Elon Musk accidentally created a new cryptocurrency. WTF?

This is all amazing for me. On what basis do people buy these newly created tokens. For example, this Floki, just because someone got a dog. What is the use of this token?
It's such a funny world, with a manners of people! While you're just there asking, there're persons asking, why you're asking and for what, you do not have more money than Elon Musk if he were wrong. Just ignore them and move on, they're way to learn and we all don't get to learn on same day.

Re: Only good coins survive the dip
by

When a price correction or dip occurs, try to buy coins that are in the top 30 on coinmarketcap, they are all big projects and almost all of them have real products, the possibility of recovery will be very large.
Nice suggestion! Buying any of of the top 30 in Coinmarketcap is a good way to guard against ending up putting your hard earned money on shitcoins as the huge investment on any token is usually an indication of what people think about a coin/token, although there're few exceptions, but staying top of the list is a good move.

Re: Important trading factors
by

Holding is better than trading. If you buy Bitcoin, and hold it from 2017 to 2020 or 2020, you get profit.

If you buy Bitcoin in 2017 and trade it in 3 to 4 years to 2020 or 2021, I am not sure you will have profit now. If you use margin trading, I believe your orders would be liquidated many times in 3 or 4 years.

Don't take risk and practice margin trading. You will end with empty hands.
You got a point, but it does not necessarily follow that Hodling is a better choice, especially when you're well grounded in trading. After price plummeted early 2018, how many traders were able to hold in their coins till date? I think the way forward is to be able to combine the two appreciably, there's no holy grail out there!

Re: Dogecoin become more stable than Bitcoin
by

Come back after one year and see how silly you feel after saying that. Or in fact even come back after 6 months if not earlier. Stablecoins are a class of their own, and are meant to be stable. Even fiat currencies see daily volatility, but crypto is known to be at the extremes.

You tell me how much DOGE was 6 months ago:)
You are right, if it's not a stablecoin, it can never be a stablecoin. The mere fact, that Elon Musk tweets were all it took to get Doge running amok is all the fact we need to see, Doge cannot be said to be stable and much so if we take its unlimited supply into account.

Guys i am new to trading. Can any one suggest best trading indicator for free? Also any other trading tip for beginers
Trading have been an illusion for many and the main reason have always been that of going after the money before going for the knowledge and required skills. Take some more time to learn and you may for instance realized why a combination of RSI and Bollinger Bands should be in your kitty  and not just because someone else said so.

Re: Is a demo account necessary for a beginner trader?
by

on 06/06/2021, 18:31:45 UTC
.. And it is better to learn and lose $1-10 bucks in the real market than to learn to trade on a demo account, and then go to the real market and lose a much larger amount there. I would choose the first option. Learn to trade only on the real market, because a demo account teaches you false skills or does not instill them at all.
While I share most of your point of view on learning to trade with demo account, however. they nonetheless remain kind of a laboratories both for newbies, as well as experienced traders. Point is. every business has its secret, in trading it's neither exclusive with learning with demo or live account. but the wealth of knowledge one ends up with. And interestingly. it's also a possibility to also demo trade a live account by paper trading it.

Re: Covid-19, Lockdown and repercussions
by

on 15/02/2021, 12:50:31 UTC
The impact of Covid-19 is felt in various parts of the world, besides that it also affects the economy of every country, both developed and developing countries. However, in the world of good trading, especially Cripto, this certainly does not have a significant effect, because during the lockdown period the community tries to keep producing by trading or investing in stocks. Shocked Shocked Shocked
You may want to know that Covid-19 had rather a positive effect on one hand in cryptocurrency. Aside the lost of jobs and people having to stay at home, the pandemic created a surge in demand for cryptocurrency, given the money from the air stimulus packages most countries had to embark upon was open doors for inflation. Fiat money was losing it's value here and there and people had to turn to cryptocurrency for safe haven.

Re: When Bitcoin is going cross $50k?
by
citywise2
on 15/02/2021, 02:24:26 UTC
From what I am observing, it was JPMorgan and other huge institutions that started to become very interested in Bitcoin. Let me just remind you that a few years ago JPMorgan officially called Bitcoin fraud. It seems that under the new circumstances, such institutions are setting the sail to go with the wind, and if not today, I'm sure that the Bitcoin price will explode within a few weeks. However, I am afraid that in the coming days there may be price manipulation and exceeding the $50k level will not be so easy.
Most institutional investors have had to think again after realizing their folly and underestimation of Bitcoin and cryptocurrency and now as a couple have began to make a turn back, it's only a matter of time rivalry would ensue and that would be the velocity of escape for Bitcoin. Breaching the $50,000 mark is only a matter of time, it's sure to happen though when is what one can not tell because it's a psychological level that would not be readily taken off.

Re: How would you protect your potential profits?
by

on 15/02/2021, 01:35:16 UTC
Potential profits are a myth in crypto currency; it is either you take profit or you do not; and until you take profits in a trade or on a transaction; you cannot be a profit. The best way to protect your profits is to it and have it saved up in usdt; that way you can re invest your capital into another project or token.
That's nothing but the fact. It's not profit until you have harvested it and stored in a secured place. Op was dreaming of having his cake and eating, well that's not possible, because no one can ever have it all - break those eggs if you must eat omelet!

Re: Jay-Z and Dorsey Bitcoin? but why
by
citywise2
on 15/02/2021, 01:14:58 UTC
Dorsey has been very vocal on helping Africa alleviate their standard of living with the help of crypto specially bitcoin. And as far as I can remember he traveled personally to Africa and talk to crypto enthusiast there. So it's not a question on why Dorsey is doing it, he believes and crypto thus spreading the word.

Jay-Z though, I'm someone in-between his intentions, anyhow, Africa and India are two huge places to begin with to help spread the adoption. India though might be a difficult task as the government is heavy against crypto.
You'll find no progressive government banning cryptocurrency when regulation is a far better option, but these governments from developing countries are misled into thinking they can succeed in baby sitting their over devalued local currencies. They should awake from their slumber, because the power is already in the hands of the people and they'll use it.

Re: Discipline keeps you grounded
by
citywise2
on 15/02/2021, 00:29:05 UTC
You have to understand in reality that you cannot be consistently profitable except you are disciplined and glue to your rules.
The truth is, you know the right thing to do as regards crypto currency; just do it.

It isn't being disciplined that keeps you afloat in the cryptocurrency industry, it is one factor, yes, but the major one is knowledge.  Discipline without knowledge is nothing, it is like being leash without knowing what to do.  We must educate ourselves especially when we are new to cryptocurrency that way we can avoid scams and possible losses while venturing into the cryptocurrency sphere.
I am trying to look at it that being disciplined enough to apply the knowledge is it, because having knowledge and never getting to apply it, is one same with having no knowledge at all, wisdom is the application of knowledge! Any trader can run into some windfall, but there is a level above luck, it's called management and it takes wisdom to get there.

Well greed is one of the things that makes us human and one does not necessarily have to put in so much to be seen as greedy. A help is to always have it at the back of mind, that no one can ever have it all, no matter how hard they try. Informed decisions should be the way forward and no decisions are set on stones.

Re: Should I sell or hold on my bitcoin?
by
citywise2
on 14/02/2021, 23:07:17 UTC
Hi Everyone, I have a dilemma since I am holding an wholesome portion of bitcoin. With all the speculation going on in the market I don't know whether to sell or hold on my bitcoin. I've been wanting for more than a week to see if bitcoin's price improves, but it is only falling more and more.

I've gone through dozens of analysts' blogs, websites, market cap sites, price prediction sites, and all the important bitcoin market sites to find the right answer. But I am still unsure.

So, can anyone please tell me if I should dump my bitcoins with some losses (selling at lesser price than the buying price), or should I hold on to it?

There is also another reason. A promising stock just opened up. So should I sell my bitcoins and but the new stock that I'm interested in?

Viketo Sumi (Armani123)
I found it missing, what was your drive in the first place for holding an wholesome portion because that should have taken care of most of your concerns raised! If you would be dancing to the rhythm of analysts and sites for what to do with your bitcoin, I think you have just missed the point.

The lure of cryptocurrency is indeed something to contend with in the face of supposedly free and powerful hardware!  This case and that of the Russian nuclear scientists are just but few deals gone bad as there're quite a number of persons out there that have gone against work ethics and turned their work place computer(s) for cryptocurrency mining. It doesn't cost a fortune to own a mining rig and their paychecks can get them one, so the crime way ought not be attractive.
