1st of all You have to:
1)Understand and divide idea of the project;
2)Decide whether team compitent or not;
3)Make WP analysis;
4)Follow all of the social medias where they lead the product and find out how do they treat with their community. Transparancy is one of the most important things.

Thanks for that...

If a bricks and mortar start up used an ICO to raise the needed capital to get the business operating and profitable (very profitable!) what evidence would you want to see to get a good comfort feeling that it wasn't a scam. The idea is that in return for an investment you would get crypto token(s) which would later be redeemable (after 12 to 18 months) at a high ROI (quite possibly 10X, possibly a little more).

It would be a standard ERC20 token or one created on the WAVES platform. There is no blockchain or anything like that intended.

Would be good to get your feedback.

Cheers
Chris

That would be Spectrecoin....

after reading and research...
I think this is my choice for now...spectrecoin...
Monero is very good but price is high ....
xspec (spectrecoin ) is also very good and the price is low as for now...

i hope i made the right choice...

Good decision, you can stake your coin as well and earn a few % extra

do you mind telling me how to stake the coin....

It's a fairly simple process using the Windows wallet. Just download the wallet from the website https://spectreproject.io/wallets/ and get it up and running. Once you have purchased some XSPEC from an exchange (Cryptopia), send to the wallet address that you created (I would do a test send for a small amount first). Once you have XSPEC in the wallet and have synced the blockchain then you will automatically start staking after the coins have matured - around 8 hours.

If you want to use the Linux wallet, then you can but its a bit more complex and needs compiling and so on - stick with Windows for now :-)

Do you think $500 is too high as a minimum investment?

Regarding returns...
Current estimated projections are
$100 returns $2327 after 12-18 months...

I doubt whether the token will be tradable but its possible...

The fact that the token would be based on the revenue of a traditional business - would that put you off ?

So putting it into context, the crypto itself is being used to fund a bricks n mortar business. The product being produced has a very low production cost but extremely high market price (due to limited supply). The only reason crypto is being considered is that they don't want to give away any of the business but need to raise capital, its high risk but the return is pretty high, the problem (which is nice to have) is that the ROI is absurd making it seem scammy....

If $500 returned $10k in 18 months, would that be a good return or is it too good to be true....

What would you consider a reasonable return on your investment after 12 to 18 months (your investment is locked for 18 months with no access to it)? Minimum investment would be $500...

Token Reward Strategy

TOKEN REWARD STRATEGY

If you were purchasing an asset backed token, what would your preferred reward system be: -
1. A yearly buy back returning an overall ROI of 100%, though the most you could sell was 25% a year...the buy back price being directly pegged to the original non discounted asset value OR
2. A one time buy back , paying around 1000%, which is based on company profits and therefore indirectly pegged to the value of the asset - though you have to wait 12 to 18 months to get it...
3. Another method?
