Are you able to login DubFX?  Hoping ddos attack doesn't mean funds stolen too.

Right now the site loads for me but I can't login at all.  Either says "Server error" or something about "PoW Data Not Received"

I was using btc-e.com about 20 minutes ago just fine and now I can't connect at all.

First I could not access the URL http://btc-e.com

Now, I can access, but if I try to login "server error"

UPDATE:  Following "server error" it gives me "PoW Data Not Received"

Can't tell if this is getting better or worse.

It works fine for me? Not even delay when loading.

Have you tried to login though?  They've confirmed ddos just a minute ago.

Shut down implies it isn't coming back. I wouldn't say that. It was actually working 20 minutes ago. It'll be back. But hopefully soon. Just my luck it happens just after I transfer funds into my account there.

Hopefully this will be resolved very soon.

My dilemma right now... Litecoin or Namecoin?

There will be more Litecoin in circulation which seems to cap its potential in a sense (at least when thinking in terms of OP), but Namecoin almost feels like a perfected version of the Bitcoin.

We've seen it happen before...

Yahoo -> Google

Myspace -> Facebook

Compuserve -> AOL

etc...

As the saying goes... "second is the best".

So who's on second?

Re: Bitstamp International Wire delays??

Found this post from August:   https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=276507.0

Kind of gives me an idea what to expect.

I guess the delay isn't too uncommon... especially with the holidays.

I'll update when funds are in the bank.

Bitstamp International Wire delays??
by

on 03/12/2013, 17:25:15 UTC
...And yes I did search the forum first. Either my answer is buried deep in the search results or I suck at running a search.

I'm relatively new to bitstamp and last week around Thanksgiving I initiated my first withdrawal attempt via International Wire.

A day or 2 after that, I initiated a withdrawal at Coinbase.

The Coinbase funds are in my bank account today... but still waiting for Bitstamp

I always thought wire transfers were relatively quick... but as far as I know Bitstamp has good reputation so I shouldn't have much to worry about.

Is it common to wait this long for funds to appear from a Bitstamp wire transfer to US bank account?

Tried to contact Bitstamp support as well but never hear back.  Probably have more support tickets than they can handle these days..

seriously, just relax. coinbase has been getting tons of transaction and businesses these days, there's bound to be some bugs and mistakes. You can't have everything. Coinbase is still the best we got.

Yeah, until it happens to you...

The volume I attempted to purchase was on par with amounts I've sold successfully.

CB might be the best we've got for selling.

But certainly not for buying... LBC is the best I know as far as that goes.

I tried CB mostly cause I've been searching for a good place to buy from on the weekends for a while now (i.e. from my PC as opposed to bank deposits) but this particular order was placed during a weekday last week.

But it is not like they charged my account and didn't deliver.  So it isn't the end of the world.  It's just disappointing because, had I known they would turn down the same account that worked on the selling end, I would have paid a little more for localbitcoin and i would have made a nice profit already... and I guess also because I thought they were a bit more honorable.  I actually wanted to give them benefit of the doubt when I made this post, thinking if they chime in maybe there is a legitimate reason, but after reading up on it a bit, I think the opportunistic claim could be valid.

In the back of my mind, I always wondered what might happen if the coin value went up when I was due to get paid.

.....

Isn't it reasonable to expect that, if a bank account was deemed "safe" by coinbase for selling, the same bank account would be safe for buying HuhHuh

I contacted CB a couple days ago and have not heard back.  Very disappointed unless there can be a good explanation from them.

I just signed up with Coinbase and I'll admit I worry about the same thing.  The three day delay to pay you either way makes you vulnerable to them choosing to be opportunistic.  Unless your behavior on the buy side was very different than on the sell side, e.g. you sold .01 coin a few times and then bought 100 of them, I too would have a hard time seeing how all of a sudden ones dealings are suspicious other than you made a trade that didn't continue to go in Coinbase's favor.

I know that a bitcointalk user named Olaf often responds on behalf of coinbase.  You may want to try and contact him directly.

Thanks for the name. Will do just that...

WTF Coinbase?
by

on 18/11/2013, 02:01:35 UTC
I have sold several times through Coinbase, always with 100% success (after processing period).

In the back of my mind, I always wondered what might happen if the coin value went up when I was due to get paid.

Well, I never found out because they always went up by the time I got my deposit because... that's just what bitcoins do!

So last week, I decided I was willing to wait and pay less for my BTC via Coinbase instead of paying a little more for instant fund via Localbitcoin.

The result has got me kinda pissed off...

Because 1 day before I was supposed to get my bitcoins, my transaction was marked "canceled"

Is it a coincidence that the value of bitcoins had also gone up considerably from the time I submitted my purchase?

Isn't it reasonable to expect that, if a bank account was deemed "safe" by coinbase for selling, the same bank account would be safe for buying HuhHuh

I contacted CB a couple days ago and have not heard back.  Very disappointed unless there can be a good explanation from them.

Anyone else have this experience?

Re: I want to buy Bitcoins on Weekends! Any options?

Well it sounds like LBC is still the best option out there on weekends (if you don't want to wait, that is).

Only problem is you pay well above market price if it isn't OKPay, so I'll be persistent about getting my OKPay account approved.

I'll try every last utility bill in my possession if that's what it takes!

Seems to me the weekends are the best time to buy bitcoins, but as someone that is only able to purchase bitcoins at current market price through Localbitcoins.com bank deposit options, is there ANYTHING that will allow me to buy through the net without physically going to a bank?

Sometimes google wallet is offered via Localbitcoins, but not always.

Other electronic offers are offered at rates much much higher which defeats the purpose for me.

I tried OKPay but for some reason, my real utility bills are never acceptable.  Eventually, I gave up.

Is there anything else?  What do you guys use to buy on a weekend?

Regarding weekdays - I know man - so do I , but it's on the weekends when you can really buy in and profit.   Seems most of the corrections and price dives take place on weekends.  In a way,  I kinda wonder if it does have anything to do with the fact banks are closed and many of us use banks for purchases?

I always have trouble buying on the weekends because I usually do bank deposits via localbitcoins.

OKPay hasn't approved me and require all this verification anyway.

so where do you guys go to purchase BTC from home?

Nice Bitcoin Domains: BitcoinsCreditCard.com and HowToInvestInBitcoin.com
by
cjspiller28
on 09/11/2013, 01:17:06 UTC
Two pretty nice domain names for sale!

For cash or....bitcoin...

Disregard content currently on site.  You can have it if you want but i'm not selling these as websites, but as domain names!

BitcoinsCreditCard.com
Registered on 1/5/2013
Ranks #1 on bing for Bitcoins credit card OR Bitcoin credit card

HowToInvestInBitcoin.com
Registered on 4/3/2013

As you can see these .COM domains were registered between January and April of this year.

They represent popular bitcoin related phrases and probably would not be available today.

URL for 24 hour bitcoin graph?

Hi there is a site that I've noticed a lot of people around here use to track the Bitcoin prices real time and shows the latest price for each exchange.

Its full screen, black background, several filters, and everyone reading this except for the OP knows about it.  is that enough description?

Plz share this URL.   Thank you Smiley
