Amateur sleuthing in Michigan's LARA database turned up

The Articles of Incorporation are also available for viewing - nothing interesting just the same registered agent name.

Someone else can take it from here

I have family in that city.  I just might have my brother in law pay him a surprise visit.

Totally should do that  Grin Grin

Another thing I found that is kinda weird-

Domain servers in listed order:
   NS1.MYBITWIZE.COM
   NS2.MYBITWIZE.COM

Correct me if I am mistaken, but it seems Bitwize made the Cryoniks site and hosts it....their DNS points to Bitwize name servers

If you look at their facebook page, only one of their posts has a like, and its by some guy in Lebanon. So maybe they did buy a site from them?

Also, if you look through their privacy policy, you'll find a link to a user agreement, which lists the following contact info:

Cryoniks, Inc.
40900 Woodward, Ste. 275
Bloomfield Hills, MI  48304
Attn: Safford & Baker, PLLC

Which confirms the LARA registration and actually seems to be a real law firm: http://www.saffordbaker.com/

After digging through some js, I found where they got the design from: http://www.bitwize.com.lb

Well, I assume whoever scammers probably stole the design from them, since Bitwize seems to be a legitimate Lebanese firm.

I haven't found the exact design yet, but I'm sure it's out there because there is no way a scammer would pay for this. Also, I searched through Bitwize's social media accounts, but couldn't find any explicit connection to Bitcoin, so I'm just going to assume whoever is behind Cryoniks started googling phrases that started with "bit", came across this website, and decided to steal a design.

Re: Ripple transactions will destroy the fee and increase the value of ripples
by

From the wiki:
https://ripple.com/wiki/Ripple_Introduction

"Everyone who uses ripple has a balance of credits. When transaction fees are paid, the fee is destroyed. This is essentially the same as redistributing the fee proportionately to everyone with a ripple account."

This will incrementally increase the value of all ripples.

The default fee is .00001 XRP and there are 100 billion XRP in existence. Since the ripple genesis ledger less than 1 XRP has been destroyed -- they won't run out.

The fee is meant to discourage spamming and prevent DoS attacks from killing the network. As network congestion increases, the fees will go up dramatically; otherwise, they will stay almost non-existent. When an attacker attempts to spam the network, fees will skyrocket, and they will soon go bankrupt. When the affected node(s) recover, fees will return to normal.

Hey guys, just wanted to let everyone know about my latest project. You can use it to transfer bitcoins to various addresses. The fees are really tiny and are a random percent between 0.001% and 1%. I have been testing this on testnet for a few weeks and is stable. In the coming weeks I'll be moving my own coins through it to make sure everything is peachy.

Suggestions/Questions are welcome ^_^

How is this different than a traditional mixing service? I just read the "How it works" page and nothing stood out. Why should people trust this site, especially with the promise of decentralized mixing (e.g. zerocoin) on the horizon?

Links on official website of Reaper do not work..
Does anyone here have Reaper v13 sources?

I'm also looking for the source code. All of the official download links are broken, and people have only re-upped Windows binaries. I have no idea why they didn't just host the project on github.

I really love the styling on the site! And how do you pay for everything without any ads or a subscription model? I'd gladly pay for a standalone version (a gnome js app would be incredible) -- until then, I'll just send you a tip.

A couple suggestions (that Clark Moody does well):
  • Sound alerts for big price moves / order sizes.
  • A dynamic order book.

Re: Wouldn't it be more fair if the bitcoins were shared equally?

If you want to make things "fair", you have to invent some sort of mechanism for creating and verifying identity, or else you'll be vulnerable to a Sybil attack. Since some of the main selling points of bitcoin are its pseudo-anonymity and proof of work system, which require no trust, sharing BTC "fairly" isn't really possible without fundamentally altering the protocol itself.

The restrictions are kind of annoying, but I'm not the one who has to deal with all the spam / scammers / trolls, so I guess they're reasonable.

Bitcoin Meetups?

Does anyone here attend any bitcoin meet ups? If so, what are they like? What are they useful for?

I've joined a new group in Cambridge, MA and we've been focused on promoting bitcoin to local shop owners and organizing a symposium to bring in speakers.

You can go to http://www.vanillavisa.com and locate a retailer. Just walk into CVS and buy one with $100 on it. Though even if you pay with cash, you'll still be on the security cameras.

So, someone super paranoid should probably make a Vanilla Visa mixer or purchase network.

Re: Whitelist Requests (Want out of here?)

Hi,

I'm a software developer who has been involved with bitcoin related things for a couple of years now. I started mining two years ago (before the first big bubble) and have been interested ever since. I'm currently doing computer security research on bitcoin and related technologies, and would like access to some of the forums so I can discuss the paper "Bitter to Better - How to Make Bitcoin a Better Currency" (http://link.springer.com/content/pdf/10.1007%2F978-3-642-32946-3_29).

Thanks,

Clark
