Opensource "receive payments" gateway: Straight
by
cliffhanger
on 29/09/2014, 09:31:18 UTC
Hi everyone, just wanted to share an open source payment gateway I released, it's called Straight: http://straight.romansnitko.com

You know how merchants that use Coinbase or Bitpay have to trust those companies to hold their bitcoins for them? Furthermore, they have to give up all that info to comply with AML/KYC. This is not what Bitcoin is about.

You can install it on your own server, or use a hosted version (in the future). It doesn't require your private keys and uses BIP32 instead. Has callbacks, supports Rails integration ("straight" gem) but can work as a stand-alone gateway  server too ("straight-server" gem). Hope this helps someone.

Is there a way to generate a bip32 pubkey in 1.9.8?

Hi, I know version 2.0 is going to fully support bip32, but because currently I cannot install it due to some python errors, I was wondering if it is possible to generate a base58 root extended public key in 1.9.8 somehow?

Keep going! Does it cover HK's exchanges?

Can you point me to Hong Kong exchanges that have an API? I'd be happy to add them.

Yes, I'm currently developing it, launching somewhere before summer

Some parts of it are going to be opensourced, like this one is currently in the works: https://github.com/snitko/orderbook_listener
Other parts that are already done I can demonstrate, if needed.

Looking for a partner who speaks chinese to market a trading platform

I'm currently working on a trading platform: http://coinancier.com, it's gonna be able to trade with most Bitcoin exchanges, including the Chinese ones: BTC-China, Huobi, OKPay.
So really, the mission is to have a great trading app/platform that works with EVERYTHING out there. Of course, to me China is a great market.

But I have no idea how to market it in China.

What I currently need:

1. Translate the landing page into Chinese and start collecting emails before the product is launched.
2. Market the app to Chinese users (looking for your suggestions)
3. Later: translate the app itself (it's just UI, so not much to translate: buttons, captions etc.)

I'm willing to share a profit from every user you bring.
Please PM to discuss it.

This looks interesting. Kraken support?

Yes, Kraken, BTC-E and all others, hopefully. I'm really working to make it as exchange agnostic as possible, so it is super easy to add a new exchange.

Unit tested, with examples

Currently supports Bitstamp only.
Kraken, BTC-E and other exchanges adapters will be implemented rather soon.

Would invest, but more than $15k. Interested to buy a bigger share of the product, initially. Would you consider?

Depends on a particular offer, of course, but most likely no, I'm not interested in selling more shares for money. The money that I need are needed to work on this full time and not think about basic necessities, not spend them on luxuries. I want to make money by selling the product to customers, not to an investor.

Oh, I was thinking for a moment it was a bot but not it's an exchange. How would compare and compete against the big ones or you're using their API to let others trade like RTBTC from ZeroBlock now? Is this any better than bex.io?

Yes, I'd like to stress out: it's NOT an exchange. It's a trading platform that is going to work with many exchanges.

Nice design, how much for membership any estimate?

It's definitely going to be lower than competition (ZeroBlock==RTBTC).

Anyone wondering about RTBTC (ZeroBlock) trading platform (recently acquired by Blockchain.info) as a competitor: yes, I intend to compete if I manage to get this funding. RTBTC is a slow and buggy app. It is now twice as expensive. It only currently supports Bitstamp.

Looking to sell 499 GoxBTC
by

on 04/03/2014, 08:10:24 UTC
Hi, I'm looking to sell 499 GoxBTC. A little too late, but I couldn't sell on BB anyway since my account was unverified. So what the hell, why not try it like this.
Obviously, there's a risk for you, but I'm putting my reputation on it:

That's me: http://snitko.ru/resume.html
My Bitcoin 2013 conference talk: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SH5OUtWMeZc
I'm currently working on http://coinancier.com

If you buy, I promise to login to my MtGox account IF they re-open, verify it and transfer BTC to you. Any deal's details (if the deal is negotiated and agreed upon) shall be published in this thread for public verification.
PM with offers.

I work on similar stuff. What language are you using? (I use java.)

I'm writing in Dart, it's a webapp meant to work from a browser on all platforms.

Also, for everyone's consideration: if you have any other offers/suggestions that are not directly related to investment, I'd be happy to discuss.

Looking for investment to continue developing an awesome trading webapp
by

on 01/03/2014, 07:39:52 UTC
Hello everyone. In December I announced a trading app I was developing. Here it is: http://coinancier.com/

At the time I thought I'd be able to finance it completely on my own, however the recent Gox bankruptcy completely burned my savings (was unlucky enough to hold em all on Gox at the time, although I rarely do it). Now I'm really facing a difficult choice of working on the app part-time or asking for an investment. I will probably go down the first road anyway, since I'm not really into taking people's money. But just in case we happen to agree on the terms and a potential investor would truly love the idea just like I do, I'd be happy to discuss an investment.

The money in question is ideally $20k for 3-4 months until the release. Share as well as investment amount is negotiable. No official contracts/incorporation though, I don't have neither time nor money for lawyering up.
I have lots of things coded already and can show you the code and a small demo on Skype.

For a detailed business plan and my resume, please PM.

Also, just to clarify, it is not an opensource/free app. I'm planning to charge users , much like RTBTC.com does (they are competitors, but the quality of their software remains low - it's laggy as hell and unusable in critical moments).
