It looks like BTC China will be #1 on this list, sometime in the next day or two:

http://www.bitcoincharts.com/markets/

But BTC China already has highest BTC volume

over what time period?  Last day?  Last year?  Last 30 days?  Tomorrow?

Read the list more carefully.

Re: Where's the Atlanta Bitcoin ATM?

Last I heard they were trying to get some "regulatory" issues taken care of before it could go live, and was expected to be solved sometime in November..   That sounds challenging but hopefully it will be done.

And actually here is the site about it:

http://www.atlantabitcoin.com/bitcoin-atms/

But sounds like it will be like the Canadian ATM and not allow anonymous purchases very easily:

"Jay will see that we have a balanced AML/KYC program as well as provide Georgia MSB licensing guidance"

Crooked Coinbase
by
clipcoins
on 01/11/2013, 03:11:47 UTC
Has anyone had as many consistently bad experiences with Coinbase as I have?   They really do some underhanded and sneaked and crooked things, and they do it repeatedly to their customers.

The biggest one is if you ever get an especially good price on BTC when it drops quickly and rebounds, they will almost certainly cancel your order.  You will get an email that says..

"Unfortunately, we have decided to cancel this order because it appears to be high risk. We do not send out any bitcoins on high risk transactions, and your bank account will not be charged.....

You may have more luck trying again in a few weeks. Best of luck and thank you for trying Coinbase."

Of course the next day when the price is higher, it works just fine.  This has happened to me several times and always at a low price.

At least they cancel my orders quickly but one of my friends got an order filled at $169 last week and they took the money out of his bank account, held it for 5 days, and THEN said they were canceling it because it was "high risk" ...and would return the money 3 days later.

Wow..just wow.

I could go into more examples, but I will let others chime in and contribute. It's too bad that Conbase is one of the few options we have in the USA because it is a very crooked one..

Hi Clipcoins.

I have a 'soundey' friend, Garcia, who has created some sound samples for me. I haven't received them just yet. Also have some original chimes from another source (not sure if they want to be named).

I'll post them all when I get them for people to listen to.

Ok great, please do when you get a chance and would love to have this added to Multibit.  Would make it more functional and useful.  And I am getting good value from Multibit and just made a small donation to you via the website.  I encourage others to do the same.

Thanks for all your hard work on this project.

Asks at 119.04 now......  Roll Eyes
yep, we're back in the 100s and that surge is....well, it's looking to be over. i wonder if this is just a correction, but looking at depth/walls, XRP has a ways to fall.

I would buy back in right now if the f'ing client would even let me login.  Well I didn't try it today but I think it is a good time to buy.

Just my two cents as a Father, perhaps focusing on your family is more important than confronting Mark.

Although I agree that it may bring something positive to see him in person.

I think his kids would be proud of him.  And kids don't need their Dad standing over them 24/7 anyway.   Give them some space, Pops.

I sold all my XRP and moved the funds to Bitstamp and then out of there too.   Maybe will come back IF they ever fix it.

But again, congrats to everyone has made sweet profits on XRP.

Re: Ripple XRP climbing on open source and ZipZap news! UPDATE - up 90%
by

Ok well Open Source was officially announced, and XRP shot up even more...up to around .0114 right now.

They also updated the client software and it is not working right for me...couldn't even login and can't get my money out very easily...Ripple bridge seems to be working but can't send to Bitstamp.

I've just had it so I went ahead and sold...most of mine between 85 and 90 on USD/XRP book.   I think it could go higher from here but I'm out for now. I just can't deal with the ripple client not letting me trade when I need to and locking up my funds with new bugs.

This still may be a good trading vehicle up to the conference on Oct 5.  The Zip Zap news could easily send it higher. I just don't have the patience right now so I took my 90% profits in about 10 days and went home.

Congrats to all those who saw the thread early on and took a smart calculated risk to buy some.

Huge mistake bro but you gotta do what you gotta do.  Thanks for a good thread.  Best of luck to you my friend.   Wink

Yes it was a mistake...the price action this morning shows it.   But I don't like not being able to even log into the client to buy/sell and not being able to get my money out.

It's all good man.  I haven't had any issues with the client since the new update last night.  I've obviously seen some isolated complaints but mines working fine.  Either case, 90% is still huge in what, a week or less?

Yeah if I can screw up and make $1K profit in a week, then I'm not going to cry too many tears.  It's still bad to leave money on the table but i'll take screwups like that anytime. 90% is huge in a week for sure.

And I still have $2K in there that I can't get out through Bitstamp and I don't really appreciate that.  I've been fighting with the ripple client for months...sure I made a lot of $ with it but it also cost me hundreds of $s or more with all the bugs.

Oh I see, I didn't realize I should put a fee in Smiley

I thought you could cancel unconfirmed transactions?

Well most of the programs/sites automatically add the miners fee in there.  It is usually .0001 or .0005. BTC.
And nope, you can't cancel it once it's sent.

I think maybe they can possibly "bounce back" to you if they never get confirmed somehow but I don't even know if this is the case.

You are probably ok and it will go through today or in the next few days.  It only took a few extra hours with mine that I didn't have a fee on.

Well if somehow you didn't include miners fee in there, it can take a long time. I had one like that they other day. I've got think it will go through eventually.

And you can't "cancel" it.  Once you send BTC, it is sent...no way to call it back.  If I am wrong about this, someone please correct me.

Re: Government
by

I think technical attacks would be much more affordable.

If you can stop BTC from working or hinder it's operations the value of it is lowered. So just invest in hardware and use it in harmful ways...

There is really quite a lot of options and multiple attack routes if you start thinking about it. Why not just write more of those nice viruses to destroy wallets, ddos the online services and maybe even nodes in network...

I was thinking more along the lines of a "legal" way to bring down the network. Virsus's and DDOS aren't exactly legal.

Umm, since when has USA government cared about what is legal? It's war on terrorism, anything goes...

If they do it, it's legal for them... Or at least the consequences are very minor...

yes well said

Very interesting order book right now on USD/XRP.  A lot of big buy orders and large sell ones too.  Someone wants $4000+ at 103.50 so great support there.

Feature request - sound (or customizable) when you send/receive
by
clipcoins
on 23/09/2013, 15:26:00 UTC
It would be nice if there was a cool sound that would play when you receive or send BTC.  I love the little "beep" that blockchain.info wallet uses.  It's very helpful as well as nice to hear...the "sound of success".

But even better for Multibit would be if you could choose the sound to play from your PC...wav file or mp3, etc.  It seems like it would be simple to implement (well easy for me to say), but just a suggestion that would be a nice improvement..thanks for the consideration.
