forgot to mention this is in LTC mode.
I read somewhere that the only cgminer vs that works with these is the 3.7.2 (guess that was the last vs that supported --scrypt?Huh)

I downloaded that but still have no idea how to tell cgminer to use this thing...
Their guiminer is a mess and does absolutely nothing.

any thoughts??? I don't mind givin' it a few more tries before I return it.

Supposedly they are rated @70kh/s which is double my cpu hash speed Smiley
and I kinda need my cpu for 3d renders so I'd prefer to keep this little guy but if it doesn't work at all that sucks.

DualMiner setup not working
by

on 17/05/2014, 01:22:13 UTC
Hey all,

I just got a dualminer usb and can't seem to figure out how to mine with it.
I followed all the instructions on their website dualminer(dot)com but everything seems to be messed up.

First of all their software bundle is a mess...
they reference cgminer but cgminer.exe is missing from their bundle.

I do have cgminer but I can't get it to recognize this thing.

I have installed the initial driver and after that used the zadig program to install the WinUSB driver.
Everything seemed to have installed/update successfully.

However I have no idea how to call this from cgminer or if there are any other steps I need to do.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

merged mining

Hey all,

I have recently set up my 2 antminers and they are both hashing away on eligius...
I noticed the other day that there is an option for adding a nmc address for merged mining.
How would I go about getting a nmc address?
My btc wallet was generated through the Armory installed on my pc.
I don't think armory has any support for nmc.
I read somewhere that you need to sign a msg with your btc wallet in order for eligius to accept your nmc addr.
Can I do that? And if so how?

Thank you in advance for your replies...

Guess this one is set up and hashing away...

Is there anything I need to look out for when setting the 2nd ant???
have not opened it yet but I'm assuming it has a different ip on the sticker?Huh

yay it works.

the fan on the ant did not turn on immediately and that's what threw me off...

so how do I set a mining pool in here? do I have to set all 3 pools, or are the next 2 just for back up?

Also, it seems that the guy that sold me the ants left his settings in there. Is there a way to reset it...
seems like this ant is already hashing for him Sad

So I'm having a bit of an issue trying to power it up.

psu Corsair CX600M

On the psu there are several ports but only 1 6+2 pci-e
and it has only one cable with 2 pci-e ports on it.
So half way it splits in 2 pci-e.

I plugged each of that into each of the s1 boards and tried powering it up.
the psu does come on and runs super quietly.
however the ant has 3 leds 1 flashing green 1 red and 1 amber for the network.
the ant fan is off and it does not seem to be fully powered.
any ideas???

Just got my 2 ants... YAY

need some help with setting the jumper/payperclip for the psu.
is there a diagram on which pins need to be connected?
I understand how and why it is done but not sure which 2 Smiley

also, once it is powered on and hooked up to the network, do I just access it by the IP that's listed on the sticker or is there anything else I need to do to configure it?
install any mining software?
Also I have my wallet set up locally with the Armory. I'm assuming that should not be a problem... Or do I need to set up a web wallet?

So new to all this...

thank you so much for all your help guys

Hey gamersglory,

thanks for your input.
I did see that on ebay and the guy selling it states that it runs great for 2 non oc'd ants. I just wanna make sure that I find something that is capable of running both of em oc'd...
Also, the noise is supposedly a bit high on them...

If you're on a budget, I'd just go with 2 500 or 600 W PSU's.  Much cheaper.

If budget doesn't matter, and you like to just connect 2 Ants to a single PSU, something like this would do:

www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139057

Found this:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139028

Would this be capable of powering 1 oc'd ant safely??
The price on these is just unbeatable. 2 of them are still less than the 1000w one and have some change left to buy smokes Smiley. So yes, budget does matter a lil bit.
Also would this be super easy to just plug n play? As in connect the pci-e cables, jump the psu and be done with it?
Or does it still require soldering/cutting wires etc...?

Is there a guide on how to jumper this specific unit? Corsair cx600? or do you just connect the green with any black?

again, thanks for your patience and for your quick replies

just get an 850w PSU and you will be fine. I have 860w corsair plat, 850 thermaltake gold and both have been running for many months without issue. Watts at the wall is around 810. Say 10% loss (conservative) it is only at 730watts.

PSU's are not rated for what they draw at the wall!!!!!!! They are rated for what they can deliver to the device.

would that work for 2 oc'd ants though?Huh

I've read some guides here that say 850W would be just fine for running them @180g/h (stock)
are yours oc'd and both running on the 860w corsair?

thx so much for your fast replies guys

Hey all,

total noob here...

I just got a couple of ants on ebay and they have already been shipped. (yay)
I'm looking to have them both oc'd and powered by a single psu.

What's the best psu option for me?

I looked at some of the guides here and while the server psu's look cool and all, I'd prefer a more of a plug n' play approach with a regular psu.
(both ants are the newer model with the pci-e connectors)

What are my options? what's the min wattage for a psu to run 2 oc'd ants somewhat safely?

ty in advance and have a great day
