Re: Bitcoin is Centralized!
by
cnmgfb
on 23/07/2017, 21:21:04 UTC
Yes, I do not believe it is decentralized. Bitcoin's anarchist days are long gone.
I used to believe that Bitcoin was the gold of the modern age. That is to say, gold is seen today as a means of storing wealth, not as a means of shopping together with the invention of money; Both by people and by central banks.
In modern times, I thought that bitcoin, a digital value based on hash power, could be seen as a means of storing wealth.

But,
A thought: the gold is a certain element in the periodic table. Throughout the ages, people have tried to make gold with alchemy, though technology has not progressed so far. The only way to get gold is mining.

Bitcoin is not. As a result, it continues to be developed by a software and core team. So after they come out, they can say that bitcoin is changed from now on. Hard fork, soft fork, segwit 1,2,3,4,5 can do everything. The bitcoin in your hand can also be split into 10 forks. Contrary to gold, they can give bitcoin any shape as they wish. Powerful states and corporations, rich people, deep powers, who can control and manipulate the world by affecting the world as if they are asking the developers of the bitch.

Bitcoin core is not in one place, but I seem to hear you say it is scattered. After all, who is more likely to have the power of mining and bitcoin if he can not afford it?

Is Bitcoin a decentralized system? On the contrary, it is necessary to think about what will evolve as a central system in which your wealth is governed.

Bitcoin is the gold, while people already had gold in natural world.

it is likw an advertisement, diamond is forever....but divorces is a by product of diamond too.

decentralised? liberty? outlaw? you name it

each forking is a 100% inflation...while altcoins had already diluted bitcoins

end of the day, it is just a piece of software that trying to create something is bigger than god

successful ICOs make government wanting to tax on such business, exchange using fiat is also taxable by government, so legalising coins is something unavoidable. I wonder how much government could get from legalising crypto coins though, as they are outlaws and hard to trace just like the dark web.

Re: So there is BCC on aug1?

ViaBTC will be supporting the concept of "Bitcoin ABC is Still a Major Chain Split Liability". it will offer cloud mining contracts using Antminer S9  to mine the Bitcoin ABC blockchain on August 1st. iys exchange  started trading Bitcoin Cash - BCC. This currency can now be traded against the Chinese Yuan.

here is the split in their mind:

Some developers did not understand and agree with the original vision of p2p electronic cash that Satoshi Nakamoto had created. Instead, they preferred Bitcoin become a settlement layer, ie adding segwit..and maybe others in future.

-Many miners trusted these developers,
-while others recognized that they were leading the community to a different road.

These two visions for Bitcoin are incompatible, led to the community divide.

BIP 91 is the first Proposal of many to come proposals to upgrade bitcoin through adding a software layer called SegWit2x. On Friday 21th July 2017, it is reported that the support for BIP 91 reached nearly 100 percent, exceeding the required threshold of 80 percent.

However, this does not mean that a hard fork of BTC is avoided, as UASF might still go ahead.

Segwit2x aims to start sending signature data separately from the blockchain on 21/07/2017 and then to double the block size limit to 2MB in three months' time.

BIP 91 states that if 80% of the mining effort adopts the new blockchain software involved and uses it consistently between 21 July and 31 July, then the wider community should accept this as the solution.

the idea is that close to 90% of miners likes the idea, according to Coin Dance.

With the upgrade being locked in with BTC, what do you think the future of LTC price will be? Why would anyone use LTC when Segwit was the one advantage that it had over BTC? Was thinking about maying trading my LTC stash in for BTC or ETH.
Dude...  Its very hard for us to predict on what will happen on something...
Predicting something is very difficult but you can minimise mistake with looking for trusted information.

exactly! people should have learnt how to predict from DAO and hacking, but pumping is for selling, and who cares Grin

bitcoin might be a currency made for criminals to use in the dark net, while only the fbi could trace the users, it is a trap for that purpose i guess

Whilst Doge coin wont explode up in price (into the dollars) it does have a fun and active community attached to it, so its worth holding some just for that in my oppinion

...and when you gathered big enough crowd, it will make pump easy!

Re: If BTC goes hard fork that means ETH will be the new king?
by

BTC is now the base.

Most of the exchanges have BTC as prime currency to trade with.

If BTC will have the hard fork, means BTC will sink.

Is that means that all exchanges will now put ETH as prime coin to trade with?

This is just a wet dream. If he see a hard split, there will be two version of bitcoin. One will die soon, and the other will be even much stronger than current bitcoin.

ETH has nothing to with this. Ether will fight to keep its second best position only.

....one will die, another will be stronger....

is this a pure guess?

it is more like a blantant 100% inflation, btc wull worth less

Re: How do you deal with stress?
by
cnmgfb
on 17/07/2017, 10:16:42 UTC
I got into altcoin trading just recently, a week or so ago.
Honestly I never dealt with exchanges before and this is all new to me but it's both fun and very stressful. I'm not a big time player, in fact I started out with nothing and just mined some Hush, sold that and bought ARK/Waves/Shift/Espers. I own maybe $500 worth of coins right now lol, but I plan to increase this.
However stress is getting to me. I keep checking the prices, trying to buy low and sell high and I do that at work now as well and even dream about it. I dreamed Espers was getting pumped and my exchange closed Espers trading and I woke up all pissed off and sweaty and cursing the non existent exchange.
I'm not very interested in the tehnology I just want to trade as I find that a lot of fun. But I need to deal with the stress somehow Grin

if $500 had done you such, I suggest you leave the business and do some gardening business instead

Re: 6 Interesting Points from Jihan Wu Future of Bitcoin Speech

best comments:

'Reading all the comments as well as listening to all those people on various conferences is convincing enough to understand what is going on in so called crypto currency world. And maybe it's time for so many of people following this new trend to become sceptic as it should be knowing couple of things:
Cryptocurrencies exist in ecosystem known as Internet. While many of you consider it as independent network for various type of communication(financial, real time communication tool-mobile phones, and other communicational tools, transport etc) it is absolutely very much centrally controlled network, looking from perspective of software and hardware, it does not mater. Claiming that there are mathematical algorithms which are totally independent and unbreakable in such ecosystem is a fairy tale. First of all lets imagine this thing in ecosystem which is using infrastructure build by governments(eventually you need real time cables and other equipment to be installed in order network to be able to function at all). If this is a fact, which undoubtedly it is(correct me if I'm wrong), it means that a most important tool, that enables existence of the network, is under CENTRAL AUTHORITY CONTROL. Do I need to remind you who is Edward Snowdan? Do I need to remind you who is Julian Assange? Did you read any of documents issued in Vault 7 revealed couple of months ago? If authority is able to control software and hardware where do you see decentralization in bitcoin? Oh you mean this romantic idea it will make humans free of control by the government, just by saying it is untraceable(and i is very traceable no need to show examples, you can find them by your self)? Do you believe that anyone in control of monetary system and all the wealth will allow some computer scientist and bunch haha developers to crush down the system, which they control anyway? And in the end Bitcoin as well as other cryptocurrencies are in all their core principles part of the monetary system. The minute you exchange bitcoin for any paper currency you are making it part of a system. If it wasn't part of system why would anyone in his right mind give you any paper currency in exchange for computer algorithm? Because it's unbreakable? Because the transaction is validated and written in a ledger? Bullshit! Every transaction that you make by using a credit card is validated as well otherwise you get shit on your account, or you transfer shit to another person account or business account. Oh transaction fees are less then in banking system. Well wake up today is 2,5 $ and in one year will come to at least 20$ and so on. Calculating this is not so hard. So even that is just a story which will not stand for long. It is valued because the major monetary players have taken their place in the ecosystem and now they are propelling it to sky. As they did with almost anything in monetary system. There is no decentralization in monetary system. The set up of monetary system does not recognise anything but centralised authority as that is the only way to control the system in whole. All this bullshit stories in connection to scalability of Bitcoin and network is just a game. First the mind of mathematician, which essentially you need to be good at in order to become good computer scientist, does not work in a way that it does not pay attention to details. Because accuracy of final result is IMPORTANT TO MATHEMATICIAN. In this regard the one who created bitcoin code and started all of this knew up in front that the system will either crash under same protocol used on large scale or will be upgraded in order to survive. He knew that scarcity is basics for the value. If tomorrow starts raining gold first couple of days you would see madness on streets. But if it would continue to rain for a month you would see people trying to get rid of the shit that is making their life difficult. He also knew that once the value start growing up and once it surpass a value that is standard for what humans are perceiving as ultimate value such as gold, it will become an asset for which will many strive to get to. And in order to get to it you need to engage a paper monetary value. This propels other industries as well. And if you do not see this then you undervalue the power of monetary system and people leading it. You see these days graphic cards are actual gold. As everyone knows they are LACKING in the market. People are PREPAYING FOR THEM EVEN MONTHS IN ADVANCE! What amaze me is that all of us are willingly participate in this game, in which we know who will be the winner. Bitcoin is just another monetary tool that has been used and it is still been tested in order to switch paper currency world in next couple of years. AND IT WILL BE CENTRALIZED AND CONTROLLED BY THE GOVERNMENT, otherwise it will disappear. Be very careful with what ever assets you have. Do not invest everything and on large scale except if you play with money you have earned after you return your invested assets.!!!

can you also put other popular coin's graph together with Bitcoin, As exchange site uses Bitcoin as currency for exchanging all other altcoins, it is obvious that Bitcoin has high turnover.

I used MEW for almost ICO. Never had any problems with MEW. It's simply secure, and verifiably secure.

Thanks, and How do you trade the coins, I mean what is the best site to do trading. Huh
