There are a lot of Litecoin haters, it's not going anywhere, it's a solid coin with plenty of backing.

Re: Noticing Bitcoin oddities while trading?

A friend of mine just started blog as he noticed the volume drop off for the major exchanges. (OKcoin, btc-e, etc.)

If you've noticed it as well, feel free to post your theories here:

http://www.isbitcoinover.com/is-bitcoin-over-where-has-the-volume-gone/

Keep an eye on mainstream media. It's a good indicator of where BTC is going to go. Good news = up slightly, bad news = down slightly. You can set a watch by that.

Why are you avoiding these questions exactly? They seem legit and it's what your negative trust rating states against Evershawn.

Re: Little help with an abusive member: Vod - Self Proclaimed forum admin

I'm curious too why Vod is not responding to Evershawn's question as to what exactly he deleted to earn a negative trust from him. I've read though both of the threads here and I see nothing in response to that or any evidence that it took place. I would think if this guy Vod is doing all of this to the guy for that reason, it would be the first thing he is willing to respond to...

Gonna have to go with Evershawn here if I was just going off of what I see posted in both threads. My advice to Evershawn would be to tone it down a little though. The more anger you display, the more he technically wins.

Seems to me like both parties in this case should resolve this via PM and take it off of the forum. Probably more of a misunderstanding that got blown out of proportion.

Vod probably has had enough of the attention from all the members he has given negative trust hes given so many and if he made a big deal out of all of them then he wouldn't be doing his job over at the lending section. Vod is trustworthy in my eyes and has been a great help to avoid scams along with is partner in scam removal tomatocage.

I'm all about that, and think it's great that anyone would devote time to making this a safer place to trade. At the same time when I read through this case I do not see any scam that has taken place or attempted to take place so it appears that some of that momentum has been misguided. I'd probably be angry too if I was a full member that had positive trading history and got his account ruined like that for nothing.

Not saying that acting out is a good way to resolve the dispute, just saying that just because one guy like Vod does good doesn't make it ok go do bad as well. My opinion here is that these guys should talk about this like adults and resolve it. It seems like Vod did this to Evershawn more in anger than because he's actually done any sort of scam activity to deserve it.

Just my 2satoshi on it.

Still looking for more, have another 15 BTC to spend.

Please don't message me if you're a new or unrepped member saying go ahead and send BTC to you, not going to happen.

This is either going to be escrow or you'll be going first if you're new / unrepped in chunks depending on the size of the trade.

Thanks!

Re: Blacklist for scammers buying bitcoin and litecoin on Ebay with paypal
by
codegeek
on 15/12/2013, 16:26:05 UTC
Paypal typicall takes no stance for the buyer or the seller when dealing in virtual goods. So money is transferred, nothing happens. Problem is that buyer will use a compromised account to buy it and sellers will take advantage of the fact that paypal won't reverse the money because the item was virtual.

Sellers however will get their account locked and money frozen after too many complaints.

I know this because I've designed and created a ton of websites and software around Paypals payment solution with regard to virtual goods.

Very cool story. Don't invest more than you can afford however. Bitcoin has a lot more ups and downs to go. It's still finding it's place in the world and it's going to take some time to see where things settle.

No, Doge coin is a joke, literally. It was made as a joke... Bitcoin was not... so when people say Doge coin is a joke, take it literally.

Tell me what exactly Doge coin brings to the innovate alt coin world other than making fun of how some Chinese translate English?

Yeah , nice words!
You wrote three damns paragraphs and said nothing.
What was your other project?
And about honesty , we can deal with those very easy.
Make a deposit with a trusted escrow on this forum so we know you're going to pay back:).

I was voicing my opinion because you seem extremely negative toward the OP for all the wrong reasons. Do what you will, I guess some people were just born to troll.

Not sure why you're asking me about his other project, perhaps you're confused.

Re: Yet another bitcoin gambling site
by
codegeek
on 15/12/2013, 05:20:09 UTC
I'm making another bitcoin gambling site.

I was already in the team to make one (https://coinballer.com) and I've got a second one on the way.

The game is going to be with a similar dynamic, but a little more exciting.

If there's any gambling men or women reading this, express your interest here and I'll hook you up with the announcement thread when we launch in about a week.

Your second one? Which was the first?
And since you're a newbie , I won't risk my coins on a fresh website with an unknown admin.

For as many veteran devs / members here that have run big scams that I've seen just so far, I wouldn't base a decision to use a site on how much reputation someone has on this forum. I don't think the admins here bother to ban people or even look in to that sort of thing.

Do some proper due diligence. Just because someone doesn't have 1000 posts here and signed up the second day the site was up, doesn't necessarily mean they're out to steal your bitcoin. If you care about this sort of thing, you should give it it's fair chance and check it out rather than discount it simply because someone doesn't have a high post count. At least that's what I'd do. Rep here really doesn't mean a ton. With enough temptation sitting in their bitcoin wallet, too many people would be happy to snatch it up rather than care about some forum account they can just start over with easily.

I say, give any site it's fair chance, evaluate the code, quality, make your decision from that and then don't risk more than you feel comfortable risking on the site. Moral of the story is, any bitcoin site is a risk regardless of what someones forum account looks like... I mean, how much is a forum account worth? Not much...

Re: Will Litecoin ever see prices above 40 again
by

Litecoin ASIC's came out recently in China, imagine how easily they could 51% attack Litecoin with a few of those at this point if they wanted to just end it. Likely they're just milking it for profit but it just goes to show the potential instability.

source please? It's the first time that I see such a statement

He's probably talking about stuff like this:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=341939.0
Just rumors at this moment.

If you pay attention to hash power of Litecoin, you can see when ASIC's started hitting.

Don't be too naive to think the people that make Litecoin ASIC's are not going to milk it for a while before selling them to the public, just like Bitcoin ASIC's. It's more profitable for them to run privately until difficulty reaches X, this it's more profitable to be in the hardware business.

Re: Will Litecoin ever see prices above 40 again

Too many coins spread the infrastructure too thin for all coins. Coins are heavily dependent on people keeping up the hash rate high and rising to support increased usage. When people pull out of litecoin because the next TardoCoin comes along it weakens that and causes some coins to start to fade out. It would help out of people did not release coins that really bring nothing new to the table but at this point I don't think there's any stopping it.

Doge coin is worth $900k usd now. It was created as a complete joke to actually mock Chinese pump and dump schemes and look what happened instead? People started buying it up and treating it like something real. That in itself, made it real. It just shows how desperate people that missed the train are to hope and prey they can get on an alt coin train instead.

In the end, I think Litecoin will die out. There can really only be one coin, only one can survive ultimately. Soon as this alt coin fad blows over it will just be Bitcoin left standing for the most part (unless someone really puts something captivating in to play). While Litecoin offers some interesting changes I don't think they are substantial enough to take over the space.

Litecoin ASIC's came out recently in China, imagine how easily they could 51% attack Litecoin with a few of those at this point if they wanted to just end it. Likely they're just milking it for profit but it just goes to show the potential instability.

That's my opinion.

I made a table of all the main exchanges and their fees and stuff. It's still a work in progress and my self taught web design and programming skills aren't the greatest, but i think it might be useful to some. Please send me any suggestions you might have to improve the site. Thanks!
