Re: Be careful with nostalgia
by
coin-investor
on 25/07/2025, 17:00:12 UTC
Sometimes an old athlete may want to come back for some special match. Some bettors might still bet on him despite of old age and lack of recent experiences in the sport. That is because of what we call nostalgia. They might recall the past memories or past performances of the athlete that may not necessarily reflect the recent performance of the athlete. So be careful when betting because you might just be nostalgic.

It's hard to assess his condition. I will have to rely on his last fight and his training for me to get it if he's competitive enough to be back in competition.
I'm not the kind of bettor who will just bet because he is good a few years back, there's a thing called rust and his condition may not be at par on what the current competition is demanding, I will give a benefit of a doubt but he should show something and that something should be convincing for me to bet on him.

Re: Freewallet refuse to give me back my 63K USDT although KYC passed

thanks for your reply, frankly I'm wasn't an active crypto user and I used their wallet many times before sending and recieving small amounts with no trouble, I think that was a trap for users like me to trust them

Your story is no different from the others. I could not part with that $63,000 USDT without doing proper research, even though I was already using the platform.
I hate to say this, but you have zero chance of recovering the amount. There were bigger amounts than yours.
I recommend this thread and collaborate with the guy to take down the platform, if you are interested to pursue your case

Re: The "Lottery Ticket" Mentality
by
coin-investor
on 24/07/2025, 17:25:03 UTC
......we love to take risk and so maybe there will be some of us who might be already have this in mind as a kind of "strategy" and they could have won money already. Are you that type of gambler that has kind of mentality? It could be that is obviously flawed in the beginning so there could be gamblers that are now willing, or maybe as I have said, we might have been using it already but we just didn't know.

It’s fun doing this as long as you are comfortable with the outcome. Your chances of hitting the jackpot are very low, but that’s the nature of gambling; we just never know. I’ve read about people betting on almost the impossible and going home with massive wins.
Like a lottery, your chances are rare, but if you’re doing this for fun, I don’t see anything wrong. Many gamblers enjoy this approach; they want to step out of their comfort zone and try something unusual, such as betting on a lottery.

Re: When gambling what do you measure? Luck or chances?
by
coin-investor
on 24/07/2025, 14:10:43 UTC
You cannot measure luck; it's action-dependent. You can have bad or good luck depending on the outcome. You can only measure your chances in sports betting because you can analyze them, and if luck does not have its way. You have a good analysis, so you can measure your chances.
In gambling, you can only do so much based on your capacity; however, luck is something you can't measure.

Re: Do you think we’ll ever get a break from all these meme coins?
by
coin-investor
on 23/07/2025, 15:24:41 UTC
I don’t think we will have a break. Many platforms support memes, and investors are not only looking for them but also asking for more to invest in. We just have to live with memes or ignore these memes, even though it’s very tempting to invest.
It’s inherent for investors to want to make a profit, and they view memes as a potentially lucrative source of investment. It’s a high-risk investment, but the profit is just too tempting to resist.

How long did your addiction last?
It was a short period, only several months, if I recall but its one of the most tormenting period of your life because you always want to make money and be on the platform to try to regain your losses, which has no certainty to regained, its good that I overcame it, but the losses in time and money are regrettable.

Re: Here's an immoral way to make money with elon tweets
by
coin-investor
on 21/07/2025, 17:23:28 UTC
Step 1: Make graphics with AI for hundreds of different meme tokens to be ready for use.

Step 2: Have decent web templates ready for action.

Step 3: Have a bot ready reading all the tweets from Elon, parsing all the names / unusual set of letters from them. Make it so that every new name or unusual set of letters triggers your bot to create token of that name. And to create website using AI to generate some generic nonsense about that token.

Step 4: Have hundreds of different wallets operated by bots buying that token from yourself to create believable volume.

Step 5: Huh??

Step 6: Get free money

You forgot to mention the most important thing: to have no conscience, because you cannot do this if you have one, because you’re stealing money from newbies and the gullible.
Only evil and greedy people can do such a thing, and it’s complicated to distinguish the true from the fake in this industry.
So, if you have a conscience and are educated, guide these newbies to detect false projects; we must strive to be part of good ones here in this community.

Re: Body positivity / Fat acceptance
by

on 21/07/2025, 15:19:18 UTC

I wondered how many of you have heard or read about both body positivity and fat acceptance movements on the internet and outside of it. I would like to know your opinions and thoughts on these movements which are usually associated with left wing political ideas in the west,
Do you believe these movements are important and have some actual goals which could improve the well being of people? Or do you rather believe they are nothing but an excuse for governments to waste taxpayers' money on programs which are unnecessary.

Fat and obese people also have the right to fight for their existence. Some people are comfortable with their body and do not conform to what society expects and wants to see.

This body shaming is also commercial because the slimming industry is a million-dollar industry. They want to portray fat and obese people as sick and ugly people so they can push their products and service to fat and obese people.

This practice of body shaming should be stopped, people have the right thing to choose what they want them to be as long as they feel and act healthy.

Re: One click away: Philippines grapples with online gambling boom – and doom
by
coin-investor
on 21/07/2025, 14:48:14 UTC
The government is very unpredictable, they've been allowing too much gambling platforms to Philippines, and they make it very accessible to many Filipinos and now here's what happened. I can say that it's not only the fault of the citizens, but the Government itself played a part on why gambling is a trend here. I'm not into gambling much, I'm very responsible and to my perspective, the one who should be blamed is the government for being incompetent and didn't anticipate this will happen. This is gambling 101, even the past years this is an issue, and we should be knowledgeable how to manage things but since some are corrupt, they took advantage of this and let their people suffer the consequences.

I agree that this is an accumulation of the government’s negligence in allowing people to gamble freely without restriction. The e-sabong is already a warning sign, but they focus on POGO and persecuting the past administration for their misdeeds.
This happened when the government was focusing on politics; they ignored the many warning signs of what was happening to their citizen, until it became unbearable.
The Senate and Congress are not yet opening their sessions, but once they do, this will become a very hot topic in the plenary, and many lobbyists will fight for their right to have their casinos continue to exist.

Re: Is Community-powered launches the way forward?
by
coin-investor
on 21/07/2025, 14:01:09 UTC
One of the approach I came across was by Coresky. Apparently, they allow users to propose and launch meme coins through a no-code interface while the community votes on which projects to incubate. Just like the popular meme launchpad but using a different approach to address rugpulls or pump and dump.

It also airdropped its CSKY tokens to the public but will this approach address the rugpull issues faced by the memecoins industry, that’s my question.
There’s no difference at all; it will not change the fact that these memes are launched for pump and dump.
I can compare this to HYIP monitors, where investors vote for HYIP platforms for people to invest in, but in the end, they will still engage in rug pulls.
The only benefits for voters are that they can get in early so that they can dump after making a profit. It’s still a game of early birds getting the worm; these memes do not contribute to the ecosystem.

Re: How can you enjoy the game when you are losing?
by

on 21/07/2025, 12:58:58 UTC
If you are losing money, then how can you enjoy it? I could never understand this.

Then, don’t gamble if you're not comfortable with the risk of losing money. Once you start to bet on casinos, you have to accept the fact that you can lose, and this is not meant to be your cash cow.
Casinos are an entertainment portal; They promote it that way.
They even have a warning in their TOS, Enjoy your time in casinos Just like how you enjoy being in a concert or a movie, responsible bettors are those who enjoy their betting experience and there is no pressure whatsoever.

Re: How is wealth distributed through Gambling
by
coin-investor
on 20/07/2025, 23:14:55 UTC
But the money can also go from the wealthy to the poor. If the tax from casinos gets collected by the government and is used effectively, it can help a lot of those in need. The money can be used to improve infrastructure, education, healthcare and etc.

There is an ongoing debate in our country about whether to implement strict regulations or a blanket ban. Still, the taxes allocated to the poor sector and infrastructure are what prevent the present regime from implementing the moral guardians’ requests.

The gambling industry is doing its share of distributing wealth to the poor and the government, but there is a risk of addiction among people.

I believe that strict regulation and the government taking action against illegal casinos, along with implementing proper promotions, are keys to continuing the distribution, thereby benefiting the poorer sector.

Re: Trading business vs. gambling business in crypto
by

on 20/07/2025, 22:51:27 UTC

To me, running a financial market always seemed more profitable than running a casino.
But in crypto, is it the other way around? Are casinos making more money than trading platforms?
Gambling based in cryptocurrency is a multi billion dollar industry and more profitable than financial market, I guess it goes with the numbers and misconception.
People looked up on trading as something that is hard to comprehend whereas anyone can understand to gamble online even if you just registered because instruction is so easy, its fun to bet than to check the graphs and datas.

Re: How quickly do you forget a loss
by
coin-investor
on 20/07/2025, 17:30:54 UTC
So how fast do you forget a loss and what can help you in forgetting about it.

Losing is part of gambling, and the duration of how long you can forget your losses depends on the amount and the circumstances, if you’ve just gone on a string of winnings. When you think of cashing out, you put all your winnings in one bet, considering it’s your lucky night and nothing could go wrong, only to lose everything. Now that will make you lose sleep, and it will take days or even weeks to recover.

This happened to me, and it took me almost two weeks to recover, but if it's a loss that you can expect to happen, I can easily forget it in one or two days.
Gambling should be fun, and losses are part of it, so you will have to get over it quickly so you can continue playing.

Re: is just buying tokens randomly without any research a good strategy?
by
coin-investor
on 20/07/2025, 15:32:04 UTC
One of the rules of thumb when it comes to investing is to do your research, which means not trusting anyone or any platform to be your guide in making investment decisions. Investing is not a dice game or a coin toss where you pick a token or a coin because someone or a platform tells you that it’s worth investing.

You have to remember that many scammers and developers are hiring shills and promoters, and they are paying platforms to promote their token, so it’s like giving away your money to these scammers.
Be a responsible investor by educating yourself and doing your own research.

Mukhang hindi mabilis umaksyon ang mga board ng GSIS para i sell nila ito at i cut ang losses, siguro dahil dito hindi itototal ban ng government natin ang gambling kasi may stakes dito ang GSIS at need nila na makabawi ito.

Re: [Boxing] Mario Barrios vs Manny Pacquiao WBC Welterweight Title - July 19

Pacquioa Knew he won the fight but humbly accept the decision of the judges.
If you watch the fight, it was clear that PACMAN won 8 out of 12 rounds. It was another Champ of the people but not crowned.
MP said pacman will still fight!
Everybody believes Manny won the fight, except the three judges, it's a robber,y and this is ugly and an injustice for Manny.
I watched the fight, and I’m on Manny's side that he won 8 of the 12 rounds. He is the more aggressive fighter, and he always starts the engagement. Barrios is a passive fighter, only waiting for Manny to make a mistake.
Manny could have set another record if the judges had made the correct verdict.
Check these experts and boxers who think Manny dominated the fight.

Re: When you're winning you can't sleep
by
coin-investor
on 20/07/2025, 13:30:53 UTC
I have seen one interview of a former gambler and what he is saying caught my attention. He says that "when you're winning you can't sleep". I'm not sure if others have experience it or if this make sense. In any case though, one explanation is that we are really in a heightened alert.
It’s hard to settle down when you’re winning, and when you have won, even if you did not take drinks that will energize you, the dopamine will get you excited all night.
I experienced that myself because I seldom win, and it’s an exciting experience that lingers on all through the night, and because of the excitement of what you’re going to do with your winning.
Some winnings make you awake the whole night, and some winnings will make it hard for you to sleep for a few days.
