Looks like the crowdsale is effectively dead after the first few days. That means market cap should be really low. Will devs burn unsold coins?  Huh

Also, one question that seems still unanswered is how the network will be secure since nobody will be mining it and anyone can try and outhash the dev's servers and take over the network.  Huh

If it is a clone of litecoin and there is no people mining except the company, the hashrate will be very low so security...Very strange to not create a coin within NXT or Counterparty...which would be much more secure.

Furthermore there will be 200 millions of coins, so at 1000 coin / btc it is a valuation of 80 millions of dollar at today's price...

Let pass this, now where is the profit for investor with this model? Usually companies in btc use some proof of burn to increase the value of their coins (exemple: spell of genesis or FACTOM) when people buy products cards in spell of genesis half of the money required is burnt forever, for FACTOM it is 100% but they mine some.
With VOXEL there will be only mining from the company so there will be more and more coin over time.

One last point is it is pretty strange to not have made more annoucement in bitcointal / coindes etc few weeks bedore the presale, so it is like we have to hurry up to buy coin (look scammy).

Maybe the project is good but the economics behind and the communication are pretty poor for a 80 millions dollar company...

So I pass !

$8 million actually. Looks like a good project to me, I'm in!

You better revise your maths instead of throwing away your bitcoins Smiley

200 millions coins at 1000 coins per btc = 200.000 btc of valuation

1 btc = 400$ ==> 200.000 btc = 80 millions $

Remember that all coins mined after IPO will be for the company....So they value their company at 80 millions

Good luck if you are in, but I am out for sure

Ah you're right. I was going off the Ann where it says the price is .0001BTC/Voxel but it's actually .001

Automatic checkpointing with autocheck Masternode added on EKN code.

Masternode for autocheckpoints offers another layer of security in Elektron network make it unvulnerable to fake chain attacks and malicious node submissions.

Get ready, launch is coming next.

When you use the word "Masternode" are you referring to Darkcoin-style Masternodes?

Thanks a lot for your constructive feedback!

Our team agree today to remove the animated robot graphic and make the ai-coin.org website better with respect to an audience beyond gamers. Plus we will do a better job for mobile.

Our inspiration sites that look great on large screen and on mobile too ...

Monero - https://getmonero.org/home (one page without vertical scrolling)

Ripple - https://ripple.com/ (aimed at financial institutions, good use of customer recommendations which highlight Ripple benefits, my favorite but obviously expensive)

Dash - https://www.dashpay.io/ (scrolling with menu tabs, significant rebranding of privacy-centric Darkcoin)

I just saw the new site which looks a lot better. The toolbar up top is great and I assume you'll be adding more to it. I didn't see a Twitter or forum link on the site however. The new logo on the site looks good as well. The new one on the Twitter account looks kinda goofy though, you should match the banner and logo from the site to the Twitter account for continuity. Looking forward to launch!

Wow I can't believe you're finally making this! I commented in this thread before but my comment is gone... Do you have a thread in the announcements page? Also, I feel like the website and the logo on the Twitter page could use some work. The logo on the Twitter page looks very poor. I can recommend some people who do graphic and web design for alts if you want.

The logo needs to be more modern and professional. The current gold one looks very cheesy like many of the scam coins.

The website is too convoluted with flash animations. It should be straightforward and graphically professional for a coin of this caliber.

If you want to contact me on Twitter my name is @check__it__out. I check bitcointalk.org less frequently and I don't get notifications on my phone either.

Thought that myself get a graphic/web dev and get a more professional logo and website it looks pretty shitty just now for a really good coin

AI Coin's forum has our old blue logo. Do you like that one better?  I plan to post your constructive comments on our forum where they can be discussed by our most enthusiastic supporters, one of whom is a web designer and branded our website. AI Coin Inc has a rather transparent management style and I thank you for helping us to be better.

We have a modest budget for advertising before launch. Do readers have an opinion of where to advertise? CoinDesk has a relatively large number of visitors for example.

Dash's logo is the type of logo that is very popular not only in crypto but in general in graphic design in world corperations.
http://coinmarketcap.com/static/img/coins/16x16/darkcoin.png

Or Microsoft's logo is not letter based but a shape.
http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-X9lWxWlQO9g/UDZklbBZSfI/AAAAAAAAI1o/8J1ZDMUMlI8/s1600/microsoft%252Bnew%252Blogo.png&imgrefurl=http://www.techpinas.com/2012/08/new-logo-of-microsoft-corporation.html&h=130&w=387&tbnid=GSBxIHi2vDOthM:&zoom=1&tbnh=50&tbnw=151&usg=__goTFDX3QVtIyKLtgreZTw1CpWN0=&docid=kpTyvfWMExeHsM&itg=1

Overall you need to distance yourself from the "coin" shape. It's a cheesy altcoin meme that devalues your image. It should be a simple shape or two letters "AI" floating on a white background.

As far as the site, look at Monero's:
https://getmonero.org/home

It has a menu bar up top and a simple, clean, professional interface. It should be a quick and simple reference for people to learn about your product. You current site is convoluted and requires people to scroll through flash animations that look cheesy and waste their time. A lot of people have mobile devices that will struggle to even load that. I will give you some references for someone who can do the work for you.

As far as promotion Coindesk is great. I would go with them first if you have to choose one. Also posting in /r/bitcoin yourself as the lead dev isn't a bad idea. They are receptive to legitimate projects such as this. It's a great promotional vehicle. Storjcoin and Monero are well received there and I think your project will be as well.

I'll add more later as I get it.

EDIT: Just got a referral for you from my team: http://www.cryptodesign.net/
He did Mintpal's logo etc. Look at his website for an idea of simple and effective design.

I'm not saying you PAY for the content, just for the bandwidth usage, you are in essence paying for a fast download. Once you upload to 1:1 you get the coins you spent back.
Unless you download premium content, then the content creator gets paid. You can always make this back by seeding back over 1:1 to gain back the coin that you spend on the premium content. example, you download an independent film that is 1gb in size and costs 5TPB to download. downloading 1gb is going to cost 1TPB but once you seed back 1:1 you gain back 1TPB, once you seed back 6:1 you would make back your original 1TPB and an aditional 5TPB, gaining back what you spend to download the content in the first place. Keep in mind that the content creator can charge less than other services like itunes since they don't have to go through another organization that has huge overhead. This means you could see new release songs come out for 10 cents a download because that is still more than the artist would get selling it on itunes at 99 cents and having most of it taken by the studio and apple.

This sounds like a really bad idea. First of all you're already going to have the government up your ass if you create this for free, but if you try to charge any money for it you'll really get taken down like Limewire or something. Also all these Bittorrent coins aren't going to matter compared to the one that finally does it 100% for free. If you run some sort of web portal where it makes it easier to navigate the torrents hidden in the blockchain or something you could serve ads on there and fund your dev costs that way. If you want this project to be truly worthy of The Pirate Bay moniker, build the first decentralized Pirate Bay that can't be taken down. That would be truly epic.

If you're talking about a decentralized P2P payment mechanism built into the protocol for artists and other entities to release premium content, that should be a backburner project until the blockchain torrent structure is implemented. At first it should just be barebones to get the concept up and running and sooner than you can blink you'll have the attention of the whole community interested in your project.

You say you can do this in a week, but you'll run into unexpected programming hurtles. You sound like you know your stuff but don't make the mistake of over-promising deadlines because this community will verbally tear you to shreds. Look no further than SJCX to see how coming up with new Proof of Work mechanism based of atypical things like storage and file sharing is really difficult. You have to come up with entirely new proof mechanisms from scratch and it's not as simple as it sounds. Your best bet would be try and network in the community and meet other programmers who have the time and willingness to take this project on with you because ICOs are not fair to the community (you could simply honestly hit brick walls in your abilities that you didn't foresee, even if you're honest). Don't bother releasing the coin before you're close to a working prototype unless you want to just make another shitcoin scam but frankly you'll only make a few thousand dollars these days pulling that crap. I'd give this project a couple months deadline if you know what you're doing and have a handful of guys working with you. Good luck.

Follow up: coine_smith i have sent you the new wallets (windows and linux, waiting on my mac guy to compile the mac one for me) and the new source. DarkCash now sends anonymously and changes the address shown that you sent from (to mask your real address) with every transaction

Great where did you send it? I have no messages on here or GMail. Can you request to add source on Github? I have no experience adding code there myself and you will probably do it better than me. If not I'll have to figure it out.

yeah, i am doing that now. go on IRC chat if u would. u need to make it so i can push to ur repo. unless u just want me to send a request. join the dark_cash channel on irc.

and i sent it to ur gmail. ill go check to see if it got rejected due to attachment size

Got it. I'll upload the new wallets now and I just accepted your requests. Thanks a lot for the hard work.

I'll be talking to exchanges tomorrow, and I'll add an explanation of PoSA in the OP.

This wallet doesn't open for me. I tried multiple times.

Hello! I've compiled the wallet for Windows and no one had any trouble.  Linux is also working fine. Can you upload a screenshot of the error message?

Try this:

Go to C:\Users\[your_username]\AppData\Roaming\DoubleEagle

Backup your wallet.dat, delete everything inside the folder. Move your wallet.dat again, and open the wallet. It should redownload the blockchain and work fine.

Thanks for the quick reply. This fixed it. I've had to do that to get a wallet to work before but I never saw that error message before so I didn't really think of deleting the files for some reason.
