I might be wrong but I think the efficiency calculation goes the other way.

1500/.92=1630

You're not wrong, I have no idea what I was thinking when I wrote that >_<

Each PSU is rated at 92% efficiency... soooo when you do the math:

750 * 2 = 1500 - 8% = 1380

Meaning... roughly 1380 watts of usable power. The rest if waste heat.

To add on to what @darkangel11 said;

You can run GPU-Z to get a rough estimate of power usage on your card(s). It's definitely not going to be exact, but should be relatively close.

You should take a look at the effective hashrate your pool is reporting. If they basically match up, I wouldn't worry too much about discards/rejects.

In regards to GDAX institutional accounts; we submitted our application in January, and just received a response a couple days ago >_<

Your own mileage may vary, but I personally would steer clear.

Re: Best cold storage option.
by

If you want to be relatively certain no one is tampering with your wallet address, I'd suggest the following:

1. Fresh install of a some Linux distro
2. Fresh install of Bitcoin Core wallet (let it fully update/full node: https://bitcoin.org/en/full-node)
3. Once the wallet is good to go, power off the machine and remove it from your network

Plenty of up/down sides to all of the available cold-storage methods, but if you don't trust any third party solutions, the above is probably best for your peace of mind.

You can probably just generate an address once you've installed core, and write THAT address down on a piece of paper.

Just my 2 cents :/

Additionally, if you're going to be maintaining and curating this thread, maybe edit the top post with a listing of all companies who respond?

That way potential users won't have to scroll through pages and pages of posts, they can just grab the info they need.

Hi, Thanks for the reply.

This is starting to be kinda over my head tech-wise, but here goes.
I took some screenshots of both router insides.

https://imgur.com/a/Lu2Sf7V

So your LAN (Wired) is on 192.168.2.0/24  with a DHCP range of 192.168.2.33-64

Check the wireless 2.4/5ghz tabs on the left to see if the network range matches.

Hey Everyone,

I just wanted to quickly announce a few things:

1. We've re-structured our pricing model. Current standard rate is $149 per kw per month.
2. We've officially deployed our new billing/ticketing system.
3. We've deployed our new REAL-TIME power monitoring/graphing display. (It's pretty cool ^_^)

We're also currently running a promo for 20% off your monthly colo cost. Promo will last till the end of this week.

Thanks!

Hey PointHope,

It's kind of hard to say exactly without more details on your network configuration, but my best guess is your wifi/wired networks are on different subnets.

If you can log into your router and take a look at the DHCP server configuration, confirm that both the LAN and Wifi address pools are set to the same subnet (example: 192.168.1.0/24)

Also, maybe give us some more information on your router? Brand, Model, etc..

Re: Anyone host with coingeeks.io based in Utah?
by
coingeeks
on 04/04/2018, 17:00:32 UTC
Hello, I am looking at hosting options and came across the coingeeks.io website. Looks like the have a good setup in Utah and also capacity. I couldn’t find too many comments online from people who have used them to host their miners.

Anyone here have any feedback?
I suggest to wait for more proof/reviews (especially when two other newbie users have recommended their services). Amount of scammers (on this particular field) as of late is on the rise.

I cant find many people who know anything about them. They are one of the few colocation places I have found that have current free capacity...so why arnt people using them and talking about them? Their facebook and twitter pages dont have too many posts either.

Do we know who owns them or operates them? I am hoping they are legit but but just need a bit more confidence.
These are the main issues:

1. Can't verify who they are
2. Can't visit the facilty

Even though they said this:
Our identities are honestly really easy to search for (HINT; our corp is registered in Utah), we just didn't feel the need to blast it out to the world.

We've got a TON of social media content lined up, where you guys will probably see us on video and in pictures. We've got several livestream events planned out for after the holiday season, and we'll be posting announcements about them once things are ready.
And yet nothing can be found so I suggest to wait for them to do the livestreams and etc... and when the identities are known, use those to verify for their actual existence (prior to sending your mining rigs to them).

3. Last time that they were online, was on January,20 and yet they didn't answer the following users concern (posted on January,3): https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2616884.msg27408153#msg27408153

>I suggest to wait for more proof/reviews (especially when two other newbie users have recommended their services). Amount of scammers (on this particular field) as of late is on the rise.

I fully understand your hesitancy.  We're growing our current space and in talks to get another building and we understand it takes time to gain the trust of the market.

>1. Can't verify who they are

We're an LLC filed with the state of Utah, is there something specific you're looking for?

>2. Can't visit the facilty

Due to our insurance, we are unable to let anyone who is not part of coingeeks into the facilities.

>And yet nothing can be found

Not sure why you're having such trouble.  The city and state have had no trouble sending us our licenses to operate.

Thank you for pointing that out, it's been rectified. We have also updated our initial post with more information for the community.

I am actually interested but i cant find more facts about your company. I send mail to webnx and tried to call them to ask them to vouch.
Waited for holly days to complete in order to send the miner. Actually if you allow us to access the miner, i can configure the machine to work on nicehash pool which supposedly is most profitable.

Is in your interest to provide clients with trustful confidence and facts. I am supposedly to search the net but i am lazy and cant find anything xD

Questions
1 Why you cover your faces?
2 How we know that pictures are inside webnx facility?
3 Are you part of webnx staff?
Thank you for answers.

So please understand is not a matter of want or cant, but rather if.

Quote
1.2 (kw) * .10 (facility+power charge) * 24 (hours) * 30 (days) + 127 (service charge).
So its 127$ with power and service. The miner should rate with nicehash profitability

>I send mail to webnx and tried to call them to ask them to vouch.

Our partnership wasn't yet announced when you asked but if you reach out to WebNX all employees should have received the notice and will acknowledge our association.

>1 Why you cover your faces?

Not everyone likes being internet famous, some of us want to retain what little privacy can exist in this digital age.

2 How we know that pictures are inside webnx facility?

Ask them, they'll let you know it's our space located in their Utah facility.

3 Are you part of webnx staff?

WebNX had no part in the initial creation of CoinGeeks.io but they've provided invaluable assistance and we look forward to expanding to meet the market demand with their support.
