Re: Token price fall after ICO
by

Many. and 90% ico decreased after being in the market. there are several factors such as large bonus sales and bounty participants. choose ico which is not much to give the allocation of bonuses, referrals, and good sales.

I think that is the main reason why price fall each time it hits the exchange. The problem is the people holding the coins once they see the opportunity to gain profit they grab on it immediately not knowing the impact they would do for doing that. Anyways, have any of you guys heard about menlo.one I am researching about that project an any input would be a great help.

*Sad. Got no answer from their team. Anyways, I also want to ask another question, in your whitepaper menlo.one will be clearing the ICO space of bogus and scam projects with your guild system wouldn't it be corrupted just like any other review sites out there?

This seems far better than letting shady ICO's pay influencers to say shady things i rate....

But how would they do this? It is still possible to pay for an ICO to bribe a community with the right amount of money.

Hi, I have seen your twitter posts your claiming to solve the scaling problem in token economy, how would you do this with the current rate of increasing ICO's nowadays.

Re: Staking or Mining?

It is simple. Go for staking if you don't have enough cash for investment. Because as we know, mining needs a big amount of cash to start with. Also, with the current price of the coins right now (mining is dead for now)? I'd choose staking than mining.

Re: Does anyone use Bitpay?

Paybear and Bitpay are completely different if you want to buy Bitcoin.
Paybear only gives you their API for payment gateway, Paybear supports multiple cryptocurrency out of the box when compared to Bitpay payment gateway.
Bitpay on the other hand has many services to offer, something as simple as buying bitcoin to Bitcoin Debit Card and Payment gateway.

If you want to buy Bitcoin, you can find exchanges that has lower/higher rate than Bitpay.

In terms of service providing which of them do you think is more reliable and cheap? Bitpay or paybear?

Re: Is now a good time to buy some BTC?

I suggest to buy BTC already, the problem with waiting for it to go down further is that it might not happen. The value had already reached far enough, and if it does then you'll just have to wait a little longer to take profit.  Wink

Nice story to share. That's the risk in Trading if you use your Emotion you'll probably lose everything. @OP I suggest not to stop the trading since you have learnt something you'd be more cautious.

Here's a fact. BTC was mainly used as a payment option to the infamous "SILK ROAD". So yeah, criminals would prefer using BTC than dollars because of its anonymity.

Re: Finally Bitcoin is becoming normal

We have people on the one side saying this is because the price has gone down and less people are using Bitcoin at the moment and on the other side we have people saying that SegWit adoption has increased and it is showing a reduction in transactions because of that.

There are even some people using the Lightning Network, but that impact should have no impact now, because it is still negligible. ^hmmmmm^

No matter what the reason is, we are seeing 2MB Blocks and a reduction in the MemPool, which is good. ^smile^

when price is dropping it means people are selling their coins, then the panic beings and more people sell their coins. a large part of these sellers will be making transactions to move their coins to exchanges to sell. there are also a larger number of people buying because it is a dip and a considerable number of them withdraw => more and more transactions on chain.
in other words people who are saying less usage because price dropped are either misinformed or are spreading FUD.

regarding LN, the impact is not negligible, it is non-existent because there are practically no place that is accepting bitcoin through LN. any place major with any significant effect... it is more like a testing phase.
there are currently 134 LN nodes though and the network has been growing with a very nice speed.

regarding blocks, we have had 20 blocks bigger than 1.5 MB, 5 of which have been >=2

it is funny i made this Milestone topic 2 days ago and nobody was interested in it Tongue
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2796578.0

Maybe your thread was too technical for others to spam with.  Grin Anyway, the LN has a promise to make transactions way more faster and at a lower cost. I wonder how the miners and mining pools would react to this?

Re: Bitcoin as a mode of payment

Bitcoin as a mode of payment is a great thing have done so far in bitcoin. It is very convenient to people, they don't need to be stress out falling in line in cashiers and other payment center.

LOL. That was years before, right now its not practical to use anymore. I think you not will dare to pay a $10 TX fee just to buy a $1 amount of goods.

At this time? Not a good option. You Bitcoin will not be processed in time or you will need to pay a big amount to do so. If the scaling problem is fixed then Bitcoin as a mode of payment would be good.

yes, this is the time for us to invest in bitcoin rightnow, we don't know when will btc will rise again so this will be time for us to buy with a cheaper price, as long as we can have some bitcoin rightnow, we may have higher profit in the future if bitcoin suddenly rise.
It is really the time that those who are waiting for the price to dump for a bit is the perfect time now to buy more bitcoin or any other cryptocurrencices based on your capacity, so this is really a great opportunity to start the year, don't hesitate, doubt and panic, do what your life can change.

No, I think the price will still go down a bit. I guess my prediction was wrong. LOL The price had gone down to 10K and I'm not sure when the downstream will stop. haha

Wait, it is still expected to go 12K before going green again. Its my opinion, it is up to you if you will follow me. But, I think that bitcoin will hit 12K or 11K after the dump.

As long as you have your private keys and don't try to login to MEW from fishing websites - everything is fine, don't worry

This comment made me laugh. I wonder where can I find this FISHING websites. I want to catch some fish also. LOL
MEW is safe, the real challenge is keeping your key/password safe.

I am using MetaTask  and not directly going to the site. Yes, carelessness is the cause why people are being hacked. My question is would it be safe to use ledger nano when the key is already compromised?

Careless can get you hacked no matter what wallet you will be using. MEW is safe unless your private key is compromised. You must keep your key safe.

World war 3, but It won't be happening. Also if internet fails and power crisis. Any of this can ruin the price of bitcoin. Small events like banning bitcoin of a country will not affect that much.

Re: Is Bitcoin Volatility A Bad Thing?
by
coinman45
on 11/01/2018, 08:53:03 UTC
Not at all: if you are a good trader, high volatility is the key to make big money.
Actually, the real advantage of tradin with crypto - in comparation with forex - is exactly the fantastic volatility of the market

Yeah for holders volatility is giving them heart attacks. LOL But for traders its like dollars, because they can earn a lot because of this volatility.
