Re: Trouble recovering Multibit Classic Keys
by

Has anyone had any luck? Autoband?

I was digging into it a little today after forgetting about it. It looks like when I encrypted/ added a password to the wallet it created two separate wallet files. The strange thing is from the .info files both state there are three receiving addresses. The first wallet file has 2 of the 3 receiving addresses, the other has the other 2 of the 3.

Pretty strange, still think mine might be a corrupted file...

Hey vamosrafa.  Had a TON of luck.  Recovered all of my Bitcoin plus BCH and BSV.  I was on bitcointalk and all over the internet looking for help last summer and finally got everything back.  Check out https://multibitwalletrecoveryservice.com .

Hi Did you get this working?  My wallet password is broken too after the upgrade and it seems after a reboot.  It worked on 0.5.1 after the upgrade and I recall the password worked 2 or 3 times but today I booted up and it does not work.

I used my words to restore the password but it just sits there with a status of "working."  So frustrating!  Every time a new version comes out there is 'corrupt wallets' or some bug that kills the entire wallet.

Any Ideas?
Already tried to install version 0.1.4 and just tried version 0.4.1 The same error ((((Writes "The password did not unlock the purse" although I enter the correct password and when it is restored it shows up and does not start in the wallet ((

What should the comrades do? I have there all of my savings are (((it's just some sort of horror, help please!

For anyone having trouble (you ok bigbbri and user7895?) with their Multibit BTC check out https://multibitwalletrecoveryservice.com/

I've been stuck on this problem for a long time and you can see my post back in 2018 here where I asked for help.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1782552.msg43620117#msg43620117

Got it all recovered.  And got some BCH, BSV and Bitcoin Gold with the sweep service.  Not going to sell any of them, but it's good to have the coins just in case  Wink .

Im having trouble on connecting it to the network. it doesnt work.!

(Just tagging you in case you still have trouble BCNBULL)

Yes!

Fixed fixed fixed!

Coming back over a YEAR later to post!

Recovered my Bitcoin from the Multibit wallet.

https://multibitwalletrecoveryservice.com/

What people do not understand is for those who had the earliest versions of the wallet it never showed the 12 wallet words during setup.  No way to show the 12 words *after* either.  This is just 1 of the major problems with Multibit and maybe why the developers and then Keepkey abandoned it. Other problems for example were files getting corrupted, , the program not connecting, the AES backups not working and also the program having transactions stuck in "Unconfirmed" because it miscalculated the fees.  I had funds stuck in unconfirmed for about a year until everything was recovered.

Got my BTC back!

I use the Coinomi wallet

(best one out there-- available for Android and iOS, you control your keys and the wallet does not require KYC-- just like a hardware Ledger, Bitlox or Trezor does not-- and the wallet company, Coinomi, cannot freeze or lock out access to your coins like Freewallet and many other crypto "wallets" out there.  Remember, if someone can lock you out of your wallet then it is not your wallet. Enjin's cell phone wallet is a good candidate also.)

however to find your .dat file use Windows search function and make sure "hidden" and "system" files are included and search for

"wallet.dat"

and it should turn up.

Hi,

Have you ever used Freewallet and had your account locked or denied access to your funds? I will be happy to hear from you at lauren@freewallet.org.

In regards to your assumption, we don't lock access unless the security algorithm is triggered; it's been extremely effective so far in preventing illicit activities and money laundering.

Hope this helps to shed light on Freewallet's service! Smiley

There is no assumption.

"Illicit uses" and "money laundering" are old reasons given by the fiat banking system to institute tight controls on users' funds.  The banks themselves are involved in such activities, this has been heavily documented in the public-- along with fines-- so such buzzwords are meaningless and are used to stoke fear and give an excuse for the need to freeze people's accounts.

If a company can close a wallet-- for WHATEVER reason that "They" deem necessary-- then they can close a wallet.  Period.

If my wallet is in my pocket and someone can stick their hand in at any time, for any reason, take it out, and decide what parameters I have to meet in order to get "my" money back?

Then it is not   my   wallet   at   all.

I have been in crypto since bitcoin was under $200.  I will never allow newbies to not understand what options are out there and

I will never allow newbies to be misled about services, wallets, coins, information and such things.  I had a lot of people help me in my beginnings and I am continuing that assistance to give information to those now joining the world of cryptocurrency.

Cryptocurrency Users! ===> DO NOT USE ***ANY*** WALLET that you do not hold the KEYS/PASSPHRASE to.

"Not your keys?  Not your wallet."

ALSO!

Do NOT keep your money on EXCHANGES.  They go down.  They get hacked.  They run with the funds like Cobinhood just did.

No one is going to sit day and night and try to hack into your little Ledger Nano, Trezor or Coinomi wallet.  It is not a big target.  Let's say you have $200,000 in there?  It's STILL not a big target.  Hundreds of people are constantly, though, trying to hack into Coinbase, Kucoin and whatever other top exchanges are out there.  Now, how do you work with exchanges?  Simple...

Send the funds there for your transactions.  Complete them.  Then, remove your funds to a personal software wallet like Coinomi or Exodus or a hardware wallet like Bitlox, Ledger or Trezor.  That's it.  You Do Not Trust Any Company, Entity, or Group to hold your coins for you.

You have been warned!

CROSS exchange will launch on November 20 (TUE)

What is trade mining in CROSS exchange ?

When you buy and sell with CROSS exchange you can get XEX coins equivalent to 100% to 130% of the commission amount.
You can also obtain XEX coins using the automatic mining options.
And up to 80% of per-day exchanges earnings will be returned to holders of XEX coins.

For details of CROSS exchange, please refer to the following.
https://www.crossexchange.io/cross/exchange/
https://www.crossexchange.io/cross/mine/info
https://medium.com/@CROSSlab

Fujicoin is supporting the CROSS.  Smiley
Three more days to get Cross exchange.
I can wait more, almost lost my mind when thinking of Cross exchange.

completely clueless on what this has to do with Fujicoin and its future or its price...just don't get it..unless volume picks up another exchange is not gonna

help price and/or whatever

enlighten me...

FINALLY FINALLY someone else who gets it.

(You are already enlightened!)

Exchanges do NOT mean coin growth.

How many thousands of products, knick-knacks and widgets are on Amazon.com?  That does not mean people are buying them.  They're just "available" to buy.  Same with a book in a bookstore.  One book sells 1 copy a year while another has people lining up out the door to get it.

It is not about WHERE something is sold.  It is about creating something that people will go crazy TO buy.

The thing with cryptocurrency is that people don't understand the business aspect.  Everyone who yells "we have to get on ______ exchange!" and "we just got ON _____ exchange, whopee!"  doesn't understand that when people really WANT the coin?

They will join ANY exchange that has it to get it.

Is there any online wallet to move coins to? actually, just went to the site and found all I need.... think I will just use a paper wallet for now

Glad you were able to find what you needed.

For those still wondering, BTCPop.co is the only online wallet for Sterlingcoin at this time. Be reminded that leaving any coin at an exchange implies a greater degree of risk. The safest way to store any cryptocurrency is in a wallet you alone control and can define the security and backups of. This does include a Sterlingcoin paper wallet, though you will not be rewarded %5.5 annual network rewards for helping to process transactions and securing the blockchain. BTCPop.io does have group staking to earn the %5.5, but does charge fees. The absolute best place to store your Sterlingcoin, in regards to your own safety, security, and aiding the network, is in a Sterlingcoin wallet client staking on your own equipment.

Thank you to all who are able to and do stake their Sterlingcoin in their own wallet, as it does help the network. If you cannot, BTCPop and a paper wallet are your remaining current options to remove your Sterlingcoin from Cryptopia before the November 9th delisting.

EDIT (minutes later): Yes, group staking at BTCPop does aid the network. But greater risks do remain as do the fees.

For many users, coldwallets on exchanges are still preferable.

>>> Rule #1 In Cryptocurrency <<<

is that you NEVER keep your funds on an exchange or  use it as a "wallet" or holding place.

It is a dis-service to spread such information.  New crypto users need to know and old crypto users ALREADY know.

This is NOT banking.  People are used to "banking."

(Because banks have marketed effectively saying "let us hold your money for you!  don't do it yourself, we can do it better!")

This is entirely different.  This is the world of cryptocurrency.

If you do not have the private keys (or recovery phrase) to your OWN personal wallet

THE FUNDS ARE NOT YOUR OWN.

If the exchange gets hacked, shut down, confiscated, infected with malware or a virus, theft from an inside job, theft from an outside job, theft from regulators or government shutdown, raided or any other kind of thing

your coins are GONE.

Example - with TradeSatoshi this past week they-- for their reasons-- arbitrarily exchanged ETH tokes for NewYorkCoin, effectively erasing EVERYONE's millions and millions of coins, while those who had their coins on other exchanges and in Coinomi and other wallets were SAFE.

NEVER.  EVER.  EVER. E V E R *leave* your coins on exchange.

NEVER.

Remember This Post.

I will never, ever, ever let someone lose thousands if not millions of dollars because they didn't know that you are never supposed to keep money on exchanges.  A few years ago 10,000 BTC was nothing and famously bought two cheese pizzas.  Today it's over

$63,000,000.00 USD

This is f____g serious people.

Remember remember remember remember this people!  Do NOT KEEP funds ON EXCHANGES!  They go down.  Get hacked.  Coins get delisted.  They can mark your account or transactions as "suspicious" and demand information from you-- and then STILL decide not to give you your funds back.  Just like a bank and the regular money system.  ANYTHING can happen.  Crypto is here to erase that kind of nonsense.

"The safest way to store any cryptocurrency is in a wallet you alone control and can define the security and backups of."

If you don't have the private keys to a wallet

the funds are NOT your own funds

they belong to the exchange.

TRITON SWAP - 3 WEEKS PEOPLE - TRITON SWAP
by

on 09/11/2018, 12:33:50 UTC

A few things:

1) I have Triton GUI wallet version 2.9 that I downloaded months ago (it stopped working/mining and I came here to find out what's going on).  The form mentions wallet version 2.0 Helium and CLI 2.0 .  I'm confused. Do I use "Export tracking key" in the 2.9 wallet?  How do we proceed with this?

2) Google is not good to mix with crypto.  They spy on, log and track everything.

3) The Google form forces signing in to a Google account.  Many of us do not use or have Google accounts.

4) Survey Monkey let's you create forms for free, unlimited surveys 10 questions each, here is the website https://www.surveymonkey.com/pricing
"How much does SurveyMonkey cost?
The Basic plan is FREE."

5) Please put the Swap info on the ANN page and all channels ASAP.  Smiley  It's really important to let everyone know everywhere they look.  I've been on the other side of missed swaps and it's not fun and is usually a community blow-up for the next few months after with everyone who's missed out and the fallout from the whole process.

where to download the wallet from?

This week I searched all my computers and found a Franc QT wallet file in a frantic search to save these coins from evaporating.  (I created a few online wallets but FORTUNATELY did not send any funds there.  The online Franc wallet site has been dead for weeks/months.)  Installed it and it's up and running now.  Can send it to you if needed.  You can check my history and comments (to see that I'm not a scammer or newbie to mining-- have been in this for 5+ years) and of course scan the file.  I haven't altered or modified it.

Alright,

I currently have a QT wallet syncing.  Initially there was just 1 connection.  I added these nodes that I found on Cryptopia

https://www.cryptopia.co.nz/CoinInfo

and now have a total of 8 connections to the network.

addnode=81.84.61.95:12834
addnode=213.169.33.11:12834
addnode=178.128.204.141:12834

addnode=90.35.252.42:12834

addnode=157.161.128.59:12834
addnode=173.249.60.242:12834

The command I used to add them was to go to the console and input

addnode 81.84.61.95:12834 add

for each one.

francs.paris main site is down since 2 days.
explorer.francs.paris is also down .

Sorry, just an issue with the domain auto-renewal.

www.francs.paris
http://explorer.francs.paris
www.frn.cash
www.journaldufranc.com

Is there a similar issue happening again?  The sites are down.  Need to get the wallet so I can move the coins from Cryptopia as they are delisting it.  Thanks!

These sites are offline/unresponsive/not updated and there is no more online wallet access, or ability to download the desktop wallet, and as people mentioned above the network and wallets aren't working.  1) Can't move the coins because of the blockchain being down and 2) there's no where to move them TO.

What can we do guys.
