Re: Is Bitcoin Money or Currency
by

It can only be both. How can something be money without being a currency? As far as I know, currency is something that you use as a medium of exchange, to acquire goods and services. That's the same of money, IMO.

You have some good points, but you have to be aware that a lot of other people also use these tactics, and at some point it might stop being a competitive advantage. The best way to avoid losses is to always work with good probabilities, recognize when you made a mistake, and wait for better opportunities to make the next move.

It depends on the kind of investment you're looking for: long or short term.

Very often, investing in Bitcoin expecting short term returns can be quite disappointing, but it is a consensus, among those who understand markets and technology, that Bitcoin is a great long term investment. And I think this year particularly can be a very good year for investors, because we are getting closer to have something called Lightning Network, which will probably solve the problems that users are having with regard to slow transactions.

Any tool can be used to do bad things, but no one will stop selling kitchen knives because of that. Besides, Bitcoin is no more dangerous than fiat currencies.

Re: Don't Spend Too Much Time Trading? is that true?
by

i'm one who spend too much time for trading. I made so many stupid mistakes because of thinking emotionally instead of logically. Cry
what is your opinion?
I think it is true, but not the way you think. Most professional traders spend most of their time increasing their knowledge, monitoring the charts and applying their techniques to it, but when it comes to trade itself, they perform just a few trades a month. Good traders will not trade all the time, because they will only pick the best opportunities.

Re: why bitcoin is so much special than others currency ?
by
coinsmanager
on 16/11/2017, 15:05:28 UTC
The reason for that level of sucess is because it does better what it proposes to do, which is to be a good store of value and censorship resistant. Most other currencies try to do the same, but there is no way for them to achieve this being so centralized.

Not only the stock market, but also the crypto market has a lot of individuals who manage to achieve great results without deep technical understanding. However, the less you know about the different crypto technologies, the more you will be depending on the luck fator, which is a very bad thing. I recommend you to learn as much as you can before venturing though this market, and improve every day.

Re: is it risky to turn all my money to bitcoins?
by
coinsmanager

You mean putting all the eggs in the same basket? Of course it's not safe. Bitcoin is a great asset, but it is still in its early stage, which brings a high risk level. Besides that, eventually you will need money to cover the costs of your daily expenses, and if you have to do this when Bitcoin falls in price, you may regret not having saved some fiat.

Re: Bittrex or Poloniex. which one do you like to trade?
by

I'm hearing reports of people having to wait up to 30 days to receive support from Poloniex.

Bittrex seems to be the better option right now, but be aware that withdrawal/deposit limits are really low for non-verified accounts.

Re: What limits the market cap of bitcoin?

We need more users, especially major players in the game.

The fact we know is that there are more millionaries in the world than the number of Bitcoins in existence. Now imagine if at least one-third of these investors decided to buy 1 Bitcoin...

The logarithmic view of the chart does not indicate that it is in a bubble, but I would say that we would be in a bubble if Bitcoin goes above $ 5000 in the next few months.

Through a change of perspective, you might be able to see that if you are saving your money, you're also investing... you are investing in the fact that your fiat is not going down in value. But the truth that we know is that inflation will always put its value down.

Re: "Everyone already knows about bitcoin" no.. no they do not..
by

In my place of work only one or two people knew about bitcoin, majority does not know anything about bitcoin, personally I have been in the forefront of enlightening and educating people around me what bitcoin is all about and I am convinced with all my efforts more people will know more about bitcoin I am imploring other members of this forum to do same so as to educate more people about bitcoin.
Good efforts, and yeah, people who say that Bitcoin is well known around the world certainly do not know what they are talking about. If you go on the street and ask someone about it, the answer will probably be that the person has never heard of it.
But people with an above-average level of knowledge, especially people who work in technology business, are more likely to know what you are talking about.

If it is a movie in the context of Bitcoin, cryptocurrencies and related technologies, you have a good chance of getting funding. But you would also need a very good script.

When a consensus is reached to solve the network problems, that's the way we're going. But I'm still confused about the miners choice for segwit2x. AFAIK,  it's not something the core devs consider the safest way

Re: How do *you* decide what is a good investment?
by
coinsmanager

The first thing I try to know if the investment solves real-world problems, because there will be no return if there is no demand for the product/service. Then it is necessary to know the team behind it, and compare the tech they have with what is already available in the market.

Nobody mentioned Tether.
Probably because people know little about it. I see that it is always worth one dollar, but how stable can it be in the long run?
