Investir em bitcoin pra mim só faz sentido se você estiver ou fazendo day-trade e ganhando na volatilidade diária, ou então se você tiver uma tese de investimento de longo prazo e não esquentar a cabeça com as variações no curto prazo. é óbvio que é arriscado pra caramba, mas sem risco não tem retorno né...

Estou usando poloniex há alguns meses e não vi qualquer problema. Pelo contrário, os caras respondem tickets de suporte extremamente rápido, tem um chat que vc conversa diretamente com o staff, além do volume gigantesco pra btc e várias altcoins, como dash.

Eu queria era excluir minha conta de lá! Bandido desse calibre me sinto com medo até mesmo de manter meus dados pessoais lá (que tive que mandar pra verificar a conta antes de descobrir toda a falcatrua, enviei até documentos escaneados...).

Dou you guys think that after the halving many minor mining operations are going to become unprofitable (and hence shut down their operations)?

If it's hard to profit from mining today (specially small miners) what would happen with them after the halving?

I'm concerned it could give even more power to those giant miners that already concentrate the hashing power of the world.

I think by growing bitcoin, op meant to ask the ways of multiplying his bitcoins by investing or any other way. You definitely earn bitcoin with signature campaigns but it doesn't amount to growing them. If people do not know how to invest in the right bitcoin they can fail, but should play a signature because it was easy. If you want to invest try with a small amount first so that you have a backup plan.

Well, obviously either the hospital had no desire to up-keep computer security maintenance on necessary files and they didn't want to spend the extra expense or they flat out were not prepared. If data can't be accessed regarding patient's conditions and issues, how would medical personal even know what to treat an individual for besides physical written paper? As a medical establishment, this was bound to happen at some point in time.

Sorry for being rude but I think Bernie Sanders is simply too old to get it, he will never understand the idea of a decentralized, non-government issued currency like Bitcoin. If investors like Warren Buffer are too old to get it, I doubt a politician will. Actually no politician ever will... How can a government let Bitcoin take over, it will be chaos. The real issue with this is the hospital itself funding the hacker. This way, more hackers get encourage of doing the same (with the expectation of getting what they want). Wrong move IMO and they should have tried to find the hacker instead but now his gone but there's no assurance that he won't do it again in some time soon... 

I think there are a few reasons why people are still not using bitcoins: Not enough awareness is one of them. Even though there are alot of people out there that are usining the cryptocurrency , there are still millions that have not even heard of the crypto currency yet , so i think as times goes by there will be more and more awareness. Also, People are scared of the unknown. If they cant feel it or if know one controls it alot of people re scared of this concept and do not want to be part of a "risky venture". But the main reason is that it hasnt really settled yet. This I think is very important if the bitcoin can keep a steady price for a long time I think more people will begin to trust and use it regularly.

Pretty much! Bitcoin is a real money to me as I can recharge my cell phone, refill the skype credit and also convert it to fiat at the time of emergencies, so if I  am getting hard cash by converting my bitcoins, then its real to me.

I think that the banks will not disappear. They may be developed further, change the way of the actual existence but I think that will survive. Always will be need for money in big plans or projects, or even in various situations of everyone of us. May be a place when are offered the needed warranties that something can go without problems and take the needed money (or tools which may replace those). Be this the time of the actual us dollar and be the tomorrow one when maybe will be the day of bitcoin or the cryptos. Even in the probably time of only the cryptos will exist such needs. And even with the most sophisticated crypto in existence will exist always a hacker which can be able to steal or break the security of our personal wallets. Or people which will offer crypto but not security. It is another thing a bank. In all the previous problems...

I work for a state agency and someone put ransomeware on some of the network drives a few months ago.  The funny thing about it was that the perpetrators only wanted something like 0.75 bitcoins.  The agency did not pay the ransom.  They have all the data backed up every night, so they just reloaded the previous day's data and we just lost part of a day's worth of work.

Achei bem caro as taxas, compensa mais guardar os bitcoins e usar uma exchange pra converter em reais quando tiver um valor significativo.

Pô, se os limites não forem elevados, a consequência pode ser a formação de limites gigantes. Mas ajustar a rede exige a alteração de um sistema que tem sido lucrativo para aqueles que usam computadores potentes para registrar as transações.
