dogecoin mining troubles
by

on 20/02/2014, 21:19:04 UTC
My mining software won't connect to dogecoin. I haven't changed any settings and I was mining fine yesterday. I come out and check on things this morning but neither Multiminer nor GUIMiner Scrypt will connect to any dogecoin mining pool. Anyone else having issues?

blockchain question
by
coinviking
on 24/01/2014, 12:54:12 UTC
I've been mining Dogecoin since yesterday on the pool https://doge.hashfaster.com/. Today I cashed out my earnings directly to my deposit address on Coinex. Here is the block chain address for my transaction:

http://dogechain.info/address/DMbv2Z4QA9X9BskE5RHYkYCWcHj8fHB82y

This has been about 2 hours ago and still no notification of it on Coinex. Their contact support form isn't working so I can't ask them about it. My money has disappeared into a black hole. Is there some way I can tell from the blockchain how many confirmations this transaction has received thus far?

My Video Card has disappeared from the list
by
coinviking
on 12/10/2013, 00:07:31 UTC
Multiminer suddenly stopped detecting my video card. All of my ASIC miners (ICA) show up just fine, but no OCL any more. I clicked on the "Detect Devices" option but it still isn't seeing my video card. I am able to mine with my card using GUIminer Scrypt, but I want it to be able to automatically switch to the most profitable currency.

My computer did freeze up and I had to reset it when I got home. Since then Multiminer hasn't been seeing my card.

Is there an exchange where Android Tokens trade directly with BTC?

No, you're right.

Would you ever consider somehow showing these indirect coins (the ones you would have to trade from Somecoin  -->  Litecoin  -->  Bitcoin)? Maybe a third list? Or Show them in some color-coded fashion in the Bitcoin Profitability section?

I've been speaking to nwoolls (the developer of Multiminer) about this as well. He says he would be happy to support something like this in his software as long as there's a straightforward way of doing it.

Why's that? You don't have to use the automatic-mining in MultiMiner. If you click Advanced, and then Quick Switch, you can switch to any coin regardless of profitability.

True, I could have kept using Multiminer. I can't remember why I did it now, it was late.

I spoke to Sal and he said it's because there are no exchanges for Androids and Bitcoins, only Androids and Litecoins. There must be some other way to show the most profitable overall coins, a third list maybe? I'll ask him about it.

I don't think it makes sense to mix coin bases for profitability, even if a coin is not found in one of those feeds. The two have different bases for profitability and wouldn't (I don't think) be comparable.

Edit: In other words, that coin is profitable when compared to Litecoin. I don't think that we can assume that it is also just as profitable versus Bitcoin, simply because it does not appear on the Bitcoin profitability feed.

No, Android Tokens wouldn't necessarily be the most profitable coin just because they're more profitable than Litecoin, but in this case they certainly were. Litecoin is visible in both the Bitcoin and the Litecoin Profitability sections so it's possible to do the math. The most profitable coin I saw in the Bitcoin Profitability section (last night) was Lebowski, which was less than 200% as profitable as Litecoin at the time. Android Tokens were much more profitable, relative to Litecoins, than Lebowski was. In fact they were an order of magnitude more profitable, so I spent last night mining them with GUIminer Scrypt.

There is a currency called Androids Tokens which only shows up on coinchoose when you click the "LTC Profitability" link. As of this moment it has a profitability of 39,605.38% LTCs profitability when adjusted for stales. It has an average profitability over the last 7 days of 7,702.50% that of LTC.

I don't know why coinchoose doesn't show this currency under the bitcoin profitability section, but could you get multiminer to check both sections for unique currencies?

You can add the currency whether it is showing on CoinChoose or not. It doesn't have to be in the list. Or am I misunderstanding?

Yes I can add the currency, but when Multiminer checks for the most profitable currency in order to switch over to it, it does not see Androids Tokens. It just sees the most profitable currency in the Bitcoin Profitability section.

Why are Androids Tokens only listed under the Litecoin Profitability section and not the Bitcoin Profitability section? Multiminer can't detect it even though it is by far the most profitable coin at the moment.

How to solo-mine
by
coinviking
on 29/09/2013, 15:27:43 UTC
I want to know how to solo-mine and should I solomine bytecoins? It's a SHA-256 currency that's more profitable than Bitcoins at the moment, but it has no functioning or active pools that I can find. I have seven USB block erupters running at ~2300 MH/s. Would it be worth my while to solo-mine? And how do I do it?

I'm using Multiminer as my mining client.

Thanks! I got it working afterwords. Had some trouble doing it yesterday because multipool was unable to connect to the download server for bfgminer. But now it works. I downloaded it, restarted Multipool and all my Icarus devices showed up. Thanks a bunch!

Multiminer not detecting my USB block erupters
by
coinviking
on 28/09/2013, 14:39:50 UTC
I currently mine scrypt with my GPU via Multiminer, and mine SHA-256 with my USB block erupters via bfgminer. I'd like to have them all in Multiminer but it doesn't detect my USB block erupters.

I installed Zadig as per instructions on this tutorial: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=270305.0

Multi-miner still wouldn't detect my devices, and now an unhandled exception error pops up every time I start Multi-miner. It still mines just fine with my GPU, I just have to see this error-message every time I start the program.

I reinstalled these drivers again: http://www.silabs.com/products/mcu/pages/usbtouartbridgevcpdrivers.aspx so that my block erupters would work in bfgminer.

I'd like to be able to do my bitmining in Multiminer because sometimes Zetacoin or PPcoin are slightly more profitable than Bitcoin and I'd like to be able to do automatic currency switching.

Multiminer not connecting to Noirbits pool
by
coinviking
on 27/09/2013, 13:42:08 UTC
This program is awesome and it would have been the first thing I used if I knew about it when I first started out mining.

I'm having some trouble connecting to this pool : http://nrb.miners-united.com/news for Noirbits. I use the same settings in GUIminer Scrypt and it works. But Multiminer attempts to connect for a few minutes and then produces the error message "Configuration for noirbits disabled - all pools down."

50BTC Pool Settings
by
coinviking
on 22/09/2013, 15:07:33 UTC
I want to mine on 50BTC pool with my USB Block Erupters and BFGMiner. I want to exclude my video-card, which I am using on guiminer-scrypt for other currencies. Having trouble finding the proper settings to use. Can't find any mention on the 50BTC website as to the Host Name, the Port Number or What my worker password is.

Are there any 50BTC miners out there?

I am using Windows 7 64-bit.

When I try to start Ixcoin the window doesn't open and it doesn't show up in the system tray.

When I press Ctrl+Alt+Delete Ixcoin shows up under the Process tab but not under the Applications tab.

What do?

Trouble with Anker 9-port USB hub
by
coinviking
on 13/09/2013, 12:37:51 UTC
I got a USB hub in preparation for some ASIC mining, but my computer isn't detecting it. I've upgraded all my USB drivers with Driverboost, upgraded my bios as well. I just get a power light on the hub, but when I plug it into a USB port, any USB port, it isn't being detected by my system. What do?
