In 5 years from now, I think Cardano will be quite popular around the world. Possibly rivaling bitcoin and ethereum or even surpassing them.

If Cardano can solve the "volatility issue" that plagues all cryptos, then it could very will revolutionize the entire world.

Unfortunately, the token "ADA" would have to be reformed with some new rules to solve the volatility issue as it's value would need to be pegged to events in Earth's reality.

The only other way around the volatility issue I can see is the end of capitalism... but I don't think that is happening this century.

If a quantum computer can break the encryption, it would undermine people's trust in the system. This is true for any crypto project. That said, there are certainly ways to update the encryption scheme because the whole "concern of encrypting messages" is separate from the rest of the logic. It's very well compartmentalized and easy to swap out for another scheme. There are already things in the works to improve resistance to quantum computer attacks.

bitcoin est la plus mauvaise option pour transferer $$$ au Bittrex. Bitcoin est trops chere et trops lente... il vaut beaucoup mieux de transfere ETH au Bittrex. Faites-le dans 2 transactions... le 1er de 5% de votre $$$ pour voir si ca marche et le 2eme pour le reste (copier - coller les codes de clés et verifier 2-3 fois qu'ils sont exacts!!! Sinon, vous perdez tous!!!)

Apres que vous avez tout votre $$$ en ADA, installer Daedalus sur un ordi SAUF... pas de virus. Je suggere d'installer à nouveau Windows 10 et faire tous les mises a jours. Ne cherche pas de pilotes.... juste utiliser Widows Update / mise a jour. Le seul logiciel que vous isntallez c'est Daedalus... le reste c'est par Windows Update qui se trouve dans le menu demarrage.

Transferez tout votre ADA au Daedalus et gardez là pour 5 années pour devenir riche. Ne le touche pas! Daedalus va vous donner un code special de 12 "mots". Imprimer 2 copies et garder dans deux batiments distincts. Si quelqu'un trouve vos 12 mots ou vous perdez les 12 mots vous allez perdre tout votre $$$

Ethereum has first mover advantage and is incorporating PoS.

That said the transition for Eth to PoS is very complex and there are going to be a lot of artifacts in the code that hamper it. It will be very interesting to see over the next 5 years how all these dynamics play out.

I'm personally invested in both. Over the next 5 years, I think eth is the safer 10x play and cardano is the riskier but potentially 100x play.

However, in 1-2 years cardano may not even be that risky anymore as they find their niche.

It may not even be such a war like bitcoin<-->iota. Perhaps ethereum and cardano co-exist happily.

The system has currently ground to a halt because of a spam exploit that makes the nodes vulnerable. They are working to improve the nodes defenses by incorporating several ways to probe malicious nodes. Transactions are still going through but most of them are from the spam. Since the tip selection is random, your transaction can be processed anywhere from 30 minutes to weeks.

The Cardano rise explanation is simple : it was undervalued and nobody saw it. There is no reason this coin is not worth as much as NEO. If you think about it for a bit you will see that I'm right.

Now, here is the extremely good news I have for you :

You are currently alive and present in the time where Cardano can be purchased for a mere 10 cents. DO IT. DO IT IN DECEMBER-MARCH. DO NOT WAIT A YEAR. This is THE coin that is going to change everything. Trust me on this.

How do I know this? A few reasons :

1) I hold a degree in engineering and a masters in physics.

2) I am fully employed as a Microsoft .net developer with 10 years experience.

3) I have reviewed their code on github.

4) I have read all their papers.

5) My cat (who gets visions of the future and communicates them to me)

This project is unlike ANYTHING I have seen. Unlike A-N-Y-T-H-I-N-G by light years. There is no way that this doesn't change the space in profound ways. Cardano is what is going to bring everything together and will actually benefit all the other tokens because of its scalability, security, and interoperability.

Can you please explain why the supply matters? In my view, it's just a question of where you put the decimal place. Between, price, supply, and mcap, I only look at mcap when comparing cryptos since it is the product of price & supply.

Believe it or not, I think Cardano/Ada has what it takes to get up there with ethereum / bitcoin.

In 5-7 years I think an mcap of at least 500 billion is totally in the realm of possibility.

Now is the best time to accumulate because the masses aren't computer programmers and don't realize how important high assurance code is. I particularly like how Cardano scales by partitioning/sharding the network. If you want to transact with a smart contract on a different partition, there will need to be some sort of atomic swap mechanism. I think Cardano will be seen as the crypto that solves the decentralization-security-scalability trilemma.

I don't think the mcap is too high. 350 satoshis seems to be its accumulation point. Also considering NEO has 3 times the mcap kinda puts things in perspective.
