ANYSWAP SCREWED BIG-TIME!
by

on 20/07/2020, 14:24:03 UTC
Viola! Anyone knows what happen about the recent supposed-to-be swapping 5% of ANY token thru Anyswap Exchange?
It was doomed, for the 1st 30minutes, no one admin bats an eye about what happen on inaccessible swapping website.

They were supposed to raise 52k bucks of FUSION (FSN) coin. But after an hour of rigged website, there we got 25X higher price than what supposed to be the base price of Anyswap (ANY) coin

This is the worst DeFi i've seen so far.

For those who don't know about this project, here's a quick info
https://icodrops.com/anyswap/
TOKEN SALE: SINCE 20 JUL
Ticker: ANY Token type: FUSION CHAIN
ICO Token Price: 1 ANY = (0.02000000 FSN)
Fundraising Goal: $62,500Total
Tokens: 100,000,000
Available for Token Sale: 5%
Accepts: FSN

Re: When is altcoin season???
by
commander11
on 19/07/2020, 18:04:53 UTC
In the past, altcoins have enjoyed immense gains during altseasons. Well this happens only if there is Bitcoin dominance... And I believe there are two types of principles to follow them

* Bitcoin dominance Increases when more and more people buy and simply hold BTC.

* Bitcoin dominance decreases when more and more people sell BTC.

So altcoins fate is purely depend on BTCs price reaction or altcoins are independent???guys please share your thoughts on this.

Today, BTC dominance is dropping, almost breaking resistance. And yeah, most of the altcoins are gaining momentum - revisiting all time highs.
DeFi projects take the lead, all eyes on DeFi atm.

Re: Safest trading strategy
by
commander11
on 19/07/2020, 15:17:53 UTC
This trading strategy of mine is all about waiting game, you will need lots of Patience to make good gains, lets go straight to the point.

If you have some money and you are looking into buying bitcoin, it's better to consider buying Bitcoin with half of what you can afford to lose and use the other half to buy stable coin.

List of few good stable coins I use or own

USDT
USDC
DAI

IF MARKET GOES GREEN

If market goes green you will still be making profit from your bitcoin that you are holding.

IF MARKET GOES RED

You will be able to multiple your Bitcoin by using your usdt or Dai to buy back more Bitcoin. It's simple as that, erase greed and focus on making profit from RED and GREEN Market.

It is not easy as it is but thumbs up for you if you profit from that. Not all traders are making money from the game of waiting.
Stable coin indeed id a safeguard against the dump or similar trend. You just have to set a definite tolerance on what specific price range movement will you consider to convert your holdings to stable coins.

Re: Remove the bad influencer from your life!
by

on 19/07/2020, 14:57:35 UTC
This is the time, everyone should remove the bad influencer, fudder, negative minded people from life! When bitcoin had a long bear run, even when it's price was 7K USD, many people kept saying the price will be 5000, 3000 very soon, sell now and get out! But a true believer knows that Bitcoin price will bounce back soon or later. Now we are in a good position in the crypto world, so, this is the time to ignore fudders and keep confidence in yourself. Today CZ tweeted about it and that was very related to me. The negative preacher can break us a lot, so ignore them from now!

You are the man behind your wheel. Why do you need them to take course of your individual action?
Influencers were unincentivized more often, they do it for a cause - information dissemination. They are the reason why mass adoption is closer than before.

Re: I found out from Twitter.
by

Recently, i know Binance CEO, Changpend Zhao has recently criticised the security of Twitter after the recent coordinated attack on prominent accounts. He has said this on the World Blockchain Summit Asia which took place on Thursday 16 July. This attack on Twitter has targeted several prominent crypto exchanges including Coinbase, Binance and many others. Along with this, it has attacked some of the most famous personalities of the U.S. Barack Obama, Bill Gates, Elon Musk and many others. The hackers were posting tweets from these accounts and have been offering a fake crypto giveaway.

What's your opinion?

Twitter screwed big time. They must endure the criticism. This is why we need more resilient social media like that don't store everyone's password on a centralized storage.
Think of it, they need to hack the entire twitter users just to get a few BTC, lolz. That's how secure BTC is.

Re: Scammers favorite tools
by

on 18/07/2020, 15:40:14 UTC
I learnt my own lesson about some useless use cases in crypto Projects through Airdrop hunting. I have something against the following use cases like

1. Artificial Intelligence projects
2. Gold backed tokens
3. Deflation tokens

Why? They hardly survives because they are mostly based on lies, these use cases are scammers favorite tools to deceive

This isn't the case most of the time. They can imitate whatever they like as long as it is convincing or appealing to crypto-folks.
You should know how to spot the fake project by
[1] Go to Google.com
[2] Search "name of the project + review bitcointalk"

Tadah, you are now one click away to know what the Bitcointalker geniuses think of that specific project you were about to explore.

Top altcoins? Like from the top 100? Top 50? Or what. The top altcoins are no benchmark for your safety.

Agreed. No system is safe in cryptocurrency even tho its in toplist. Market is so volatile that will wrecked your capital without prior knowledge of what you're doing. Stay informed.

Re: Beware: FORSAGE another scheme (Ponzi)

I had been an anti-ponzi scheme advocate since 2017 ( before the last bullrun/ ATH). This kind of scheme makes me cringe every time I saw one or two. I myself had been victimized by this type of scheme that's why I know how it feels to lose your hard-earned money.

Even drop an unsolicited  warning to anyone who posts and shares anything related to this project. This has been rampant in Facebook posts. Sadly, most of them don't listen since they were earning from the scheme.
A sad reality.

Twitter has admitted that user passwords were briefly stored in plaintext and may have been exposed to the company's internal tools.

In a blog post, the microblogging site urged users to change their passwords.

"When you set a password for your Twitter account, we use technology that masks it so no one at the company can see it. We recently identified a bug that stored passwords unmasked in an internal log," said Twitter in a statement.

Twitter didn't say how many accounts were affected, but Reuters reports -- citing a source -- that the number of affected users was "substantial" and that passwords were exposed for "several months."

It's unclear exactly why user passwords were stored in plaintext before they were hashed. Twitter said that it stores user passwords with bcrypt, a stronger password hashing algorithm, but a bug meant that passwords were "written to an internal log before completing the hashing process."

The company said it fixed the bug and that an investigation "shows no indication of breach or misuse" by anyone.

A spokesperson for Twitter reiterated that the bug "is related to our internal systems only," but it did not comment further.

A source familiar with the ongoing investigation told ZDNet that the internal log where user plaintext passwords were accidentally logged was found in an obscure place, and it's believed that the likelihood of someone finding it was low.

"Since this is not a breach and our investigation has shown no signs of misuse, we are not forcing a password reset but are presenting the information for people to make an informed decision about their account," said the spokesperson. "We believe this is the right thing to do."

The company had 330 million users at its fourth-quarter earnings in February.

Twitter is the second company to admit a password-related bug this week.

GitHub on Tuesday said it also exposed some users' plaintext passwords after they were written to an internal logging system.

It's not known if the two incidents are related, and a Twitter spokesperson would not comment in a follow-up email.

https://www.zdnet.com/article/twitter-says-bug-exposed-passwords-in-plaintext/

....

Google is confirmed for storing passwords in plaintext since 2005:  https://www.wired.com/story/google-stored-gsuite-passwords-plaintext/

Facebook also stores passwords in plaintext:  https://techcrunch.com/2019/03/21/facebook-plaintext-passwords/

The sad reality is, many tech and financial giants store passwords in plaintext which leaves accounts vulnerable.

As far as anyone knows, they continue to do so, years after the poor security practice was first made public knowledge: https://www.howtogeek.com/434930/why-are-companies-still-storing-passwords-in-plain-text/

Code:
No wonder they will be replaced by security-oriented social media giants, web 3.0 sooner or later.

This isn't surprising at all since they are using centralized server to store up their users' data.
By having it in a centralized server, even a hashed (encrypted) data still vulnerable to malicious attacks when [1] there are bugs [2] before hashing (in plain text) [3] when the server is compromised.

No slot for Senior Member? Can you please clarify this if I can apply as a Senior member?
There is no Need for clarification if you can read and understand,The Title Clearly says "Full Members & Hero/Legendary" ONLY

and Even Checking the Spreadsheet Here

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1ZMZMdzGRvYR5h1WKZYAQoYBOVTHHBgb0hmPQu-6zXZ0/edit#gid=170546546

You'll Find that the Campaign is already FULL now.

Yeah, it's just odd to me that they go for full member instead of a Senior member at is the order of rank hierarchy.

Re: TAUCOIN Tech Related Discussion - Q&A
by

on 16/07/2019, 08:26:10 UTC
Based on the community's curiosity, here are some of the doubts that need to be addressed.

Q1: Synchronizing wallet isn't as smooth as we expect, what are the main factors to this chaotic syncing and what are the proposed resolutions to solve this problem.

Q2: How do you plan on integrating IFPS in the POT protocol considering the size of Blocks is quite small and limited? Supposedly, IPFS integration requires a stable p2p medium that will sometimes also store a specific amount of data.

Q3: Do you have the progress already in the IPFS integration? If yes, is there is any viewable repository for it?
